  • Beautiful! I love older pictures like that. She so pretty!

  • Janine elle est belle!!

  • How beautiful...not only your wife...but the obvious love you share together!

    Love and God's Blessings,

    Cat

  • Absolutely lovely.

  • Such a beauty she was and still is! It is remarkable, that playful look and teasing smile. Beautiful dress and settings, too. I am reminded of a scene from a 1940s French film. What was the situation in which you took this picture, Michel? The everlasting love that you and Janine have between you is evident in her eyes. Felicitations in your great love!

  • You must of been just as charming in your younger days as well Michel to be able to get Janine to smile like that when she had just met you . Janine has a very Audrey Hepburn look

  • Quelle jolie demoiselle!

  • Gorgeous! I see why you fell for her,. . . she seemed to have sparks in her eyes for you as well.

  • What a smile! No wonder you fell for her.

  • Such beauty. You are a blessed man, my friend.

  • Bonjour, Michel!

I am glad that the girl gave you the proper recognition that you deserve. I hope that in future endeavors that she will remember to do that...

I love that you feel the same about your wife as you did when you first met her. That flame has not died. It is quite the opposite, indeed! That is a wonderful picture, and you are a lucky man.

Have a great week, my good friend! God bless.

  • that was some look she was giving you, michel~!  lol

  • Oh, what a wonderful photo!  It must be such a treasure for you Michel!

And no, of course I don't mind if you've missed some of my blogs.  I have written a lot recently, because I wanted to tell what I did on my holidays.

  • michel! how wonderful it is to see you update :) i absolutely love the picture of your wife, she looks young and vibrant--and remarkably she doesn't look like she has aged in any recent photos you've taken. i really do hope that i find a man some day that will keep me feeling young and beautiful even in my old age.

i have temporarily left xanga, but i will continue to comment on your posts! feel free to leave me as many messages as you want on the one post i have left public. i promise i'll return soon.

    love always,
    savannah <3

  • She has a beautiful smile and the look of an angel...she is your SoulMate...the two of you are fortunate to have each other...how pretty...Sassy

  • Pretty young thing and dressed for the era as well .My poem was abut a stuffed Teddy Bear .I didn't lose my real Teddy, he is still with me. I hate that we have to change looks as we age .It's alright getting old but lovely if we could look the same as when young, Cheers ,Take Care ,Marjie

  • Janine est ravissante!    et tu es mignon

  • Elle est tres belle! She looks like she's flirting with you, Michel. :)

  • WOW. I love this photo.

  • That is so romantic! I love how your site is so simple and reminds us of the happy things in life

  • she is very charming!

  • Fauquet, elle est tres belle!!!

  • i admire how much you love your wife.  i'll attempt some french:

    elle est tres belle.

    <3ashera

  • What a remarkable picture. I love black and white photographs. They seem to capture things that may not be recognized by color photos. I think it is because the picture is simplified. Simplified by its few different shades and how they contrast and compliment each other.

And of course your wife is stunning. She looks very sweet and friendly. She looks like somebody who is fun and comfortable to be around. She also looks like she is flirting with the man behind the lens. Perhaps her smile tells of her hopes of the future with you. It is very romantic to think about it.

Love to you and your beautiful soul mate,

    Sarah

  • She is a beauty She is the Beauty then as she is today  That smile shows much happiness.

  • Your wife is a beautiful woman....with a gorgeous smile!!

  • Michel, you really are a wonderful man! This is a beautiful photo of Janine! The two of you are an inspiration to everyone, on a marriage made in heaven. You always write posts which touch our souls!

  • Oh, Michel, that "gleam" in her eye...ahhhhhhhhhhhh, love! Tres, tres bien!

  • Heh... how did you know her? Did you bring the camera along to amuse her?

  • Lucky Michael, what a lovely photo to have Ron

  • Mais bien sûr que je la reconnais! Elle est la même!
Quelle belle photo, prise avec tendresse et amour

  • Fu senz'altro un colpo di fulmine, as we say in Italy.

It was like a lightning stroke. Love at first sight.

And Love is still there almost a half century later.

    Bien

  • Of course--that explains everything--how could you resist that smile?

    Clara

  • What a lovely memory! You and Janine have had so many wonderful years together. Thanks for sharing the beginning.

Thanks also for the lovely comment you left on my blog. I don't think I am particularly deep. I would like to be, but I am not.

  • A year or so ago, you've posted a more recent picture of her, and I see that she hasn't changed much over the years. I recognized her immediately. She is still very beautiful.

  •  u   r  a beautiful  soul  with an angel face & your love  is very blessed  magi

  • it is so wonderful to see someone in love for that long

  • What a lovely lady. I can feel her warmth and charm. Lucky Michel ... lucky Janine!

  • That is a beautiful photo. My Mom was born a few years earlier then that (1954 i am guessing.. she was a one of those baby boomers) and so seeing pictures from that time period is well, wonderful for me. We dont have much of her childhood because she was a poor irish in a big family living in Chicago. I know, i am young (14 and proud haha) but just seeing pictures like that, well its crazy for me. i looovee it. Your wife looks absolutely gorgeous. Just wanted to say hello, so goodbye!

  • she has a twinkle in her eye and a love of life look about her, she looks very much alive and it looks like she likes you too in the photo

  • The beauty of your lovely lady shines though her eyes and her smile.  The mischevious spark of a good life is apparent.  Congratulations for both of you for all the love you have shared and share Nancy

  • I commented here on beautiful Janine before.

"Why not to try on a photo of a portrait before?" you asked in your comment. That's a very good idea. I didn't think of that! Thank you.

  • she is soo beautiful, mi amor.

  • La photo est très belle et ton amour est très belle aussi.  france est très magnifique!

  • Michel, I am hoping that this lovely picture of Janine was taken on the 15th of August, 1957...at about 8am EST (what that may be where you were??)....for that would be the very moment of my birth!!  I knew we had a connection!!

......and yes, she is just as lovely today.  You are a very lucky man!!

  • WOW! Its getting very crowded here...

Your photo's inspire. Even those taken decades ago. How do you get the magic into the picture?

  • You two have made a beautiful life together.  I love happy endings!

  • Beautiful photo...just beautiful!

  • I see how you love her -- a sparkling personality shines through the surface beauty, too.

  • Merveilleuse Janine !
Je peux confirmer car j'ai eu le bonheur de la rencontrer il y a 6 mois !

    Mes amitiés à tous deux

  • A beautiful smile because she is in love with you! Lucky Michel AND Janine!

  • I bet anything you'll never forget that look of hers for the rest of your life! Itz beautiful..black n' white photos are the best if you ask me!

When Michel saw his dream girl and fell in love!

  • ...delighted to finally get over for a visit and catch-up with you. How could you possibly  be late??? It is I, who have missed several of your posts, please forgive, I don't Xanga as much as I used to, must have time for other responsibilities. Will combine all comments here.
...gorgeous, gorgeous Janine!!!Fantastic photo, Michel, but I'm sure the subject had a lot to do with it's success - ah, Michel? Your photo expresses you heart, it was full.
...enjoyed your poem on Midnight Horses. Lovely thoughts and peace. The pic you used was delightful. Horses don't usually hold my interest but your pic and poem certainly did. Well done, Michel.
...oh, such a talent your friend!!! Marvelous paintings, what it must have been for your to receive them. Both of them say to me continuity of time, space and flexibility to your long lasting friendship. What a tribute to your friendship!
...hope all going well for you and family, please give my regards to Janine, the candle of you heart.  MuSe

  • To be the last to comment on your list is more hard then to be the last one on my blogs. I had to go many pages back.
Thanks for your kind words, but one can say to be a good teacher afther many years of doing it, like you did. You are the great teacher, not me. I am just having fun. Thanks anyway.
We must be happy that the for the last 60 years our children don't have to learn about wars in Europe, it was enough all the thing you had to learn about the wars of Italy, ( It was not Italy them, but a lot of little states).

    Bien à toi

    Carlo

  • Wow! No wonder you were attracted to her! Love at first sight. About "Fwiday" it's just a fun way to say Friday. I might also say "Fwench" instead of "French." Your English is very good!

Wow! Aucune merveille vous avez été attiré à elle! Le coup de foudre. Au sujet de "Fwiday" il est juste une manière d'amusement de dire vendredi. Je pourrais également dire "Fwançais" au lieu du "Français." Votre anglais est très bon!

  • pretty....i love black and whites

  • I can see why you married her. She's looks beautiful in this photo. She shows a lot of love for her photographer.

  • I think she kind of liked you, huh? I can see it in her eyes. Beautiful!

  • "hath" is old English for "have" but with a slightly different meaning. You can "have" anything, but only the whole soul, and the spirit of God can be "hath" with an object. ie you can "have" a bible in your book-shelve, but if you "hath" one there, it is more than a bible it is the soul of God.

Think that is the easiest I can put it. "hath" has the ethos as well as the lobius.

  • Isn't it beautiful to spend a lifetime with someone you  love, and where beauty never fades. RITA

  • What a beautiful lady Janine is. She looks so great in that dress. From the look on her face, It looks like it was love at first sight.
