Venez avec Janine et moi faire un tour le long de la côte

Come with Janine and me for a tour along the coast

    1 Avril 2015

English version  in  the video with French,  and below the video. And sometimes I speak in the video a fauquetized English !!!!    :)

O friend, take the time to live .
Last March 26, we visited the family graves in my birth area : Boulogne sur mer in Northern France( 140 km from Amiens)  near the coast. We went in the morning  to four  cemeteries under the rain . After this we were soaked and tired  and we took a meal in a restaurant in a resort called Wimereux . Never a restaurant did merit so well its name and   goal : restore us .
Afterwards we went to see  the sea nearby   then we xent to another resort Wissant,  to visit an old friend.
This is this small trip from Wimereux to Wissant , I relate in this short film .
You will see the sea and the landscapes are captivating and various .  Some time to time we have to look at what is around us and to enjoy a simple but so wonderful time of life . Yes, friend,  come with us via this video.

Up Date April 4 Happy Easter.                                      Joyeuses Pâques.

Sea, clouds, beauty and  joyous light celebrate the glory of Easter and the joy of the resurrection .
This what the video above was saying . You guessed i

Mer, nuages, beauté et joyeuse lumière célèbrent la gloire de Pâques  et la joie de la résurrection.

C ' est ce que dit la vidéo ci-dessus .Vous l' aviez deviné

At the Easter Eve celebration we listened to an excerpt of the Exodus : the passing of the Red Sea

The Israelites went through the red sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left when Moses raised his stick in obeying to the order of God. When we heard this read I told my grandson joe ( 14)that the sea red was like death that we pass though it in watching the cross raised like the stik of Moses. He understood immediatly the meaning of the read

  • and so fascinating that you can look across the strait and see England.
I ashamed to say I had to pull up a map to better understand. :-)

Yes, what a wonderful time of life, and what a wonderful way to enjoy the day. :-)

    • This shows ,Lynn, if it was still needed you are openminded and when something is not clear for you, you are not hilled, and you search to find a better understanding. I love that

  • Dear Michel,
I sat here mesmerized by the waves and gentle lapping of the soft waves initially and then the larger waves. How thoughtful of you to post this, my absolute favorite vistas of water. I loved going with you in the car, and visiting the old hamlet and the winding road and the picture of the river slack. Loved hearing your voice and your laughter. Thank you a hundred times. Now, i can always hear the sound of the waves.

  • A wonderful film of your trip! I don't speak French but laughter is universal!! I enjoyed this greatly!! Thanks!

  • The best part is that I feel I have known you through Xanga for 12 or 13 years and now for the first time I hear your voice and laughter! You and Janine have good time together.

  • It was delightful to share this journey with you and Janine! Surprisingly, your voice and laughter sound just like I imagined they would--joyful. Your joy shows in your writing about your life! The sea was angry the day you took your journey. Very much like our Lake Michigan on a blustery day! I love your quaint villages. Love to you and Janine.

  • You have brought back wonderful memories as before I knew you John, Laura, and I would walk from Boulogne to Wimereux when we were on holiday in Boulogne. Of course I have been very privilege to visit the resting place of your parents. This is certainly a delightful video

  • Thank you for sharing your memories. The only part of France that I have seen is Paris. Wishing you a Blessed Easter Michel and Janine. love Marilyn

    have a Blessed Good Friday.

  • Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

  • Thank you for taking us along on your trip, such beautiful countryside. And the inn looked very old and historic, a fun place to visit.
The sea was my favorite part, as you say, the water was silver and the frothy waves rushing in. The dark sky made it dramatic and the winter sunlight welcome.
Thanks for taking the trouble to upload the video so we could see too.

  • Almost forgot to wish you Joyeuses Pâques !

  • Wonderful video. I hope your back is feeling better.

  • How are you feeling today, Michel?

ryc: Michel every surgery they do leaves scar tissue, think there is another name...adhesion's?

I had a herniated disk, surgeon damaged the sciatic nerve the surgery was to correct in the first place. Add to that yes arthritis now in the spine.

There is nothing else they can do.

  • Answering your comment on my Facebook page. I think I started on Xanga in 2003---a long time ago, but have wonderful memories of those years blogging there.
Yes, our oldest son, wife and three youngest children were on the road for three years in their bus/motor home. Five years ago they settled in Phoenix Arizona, where Jeff started up his own sign company. It gets so very hot there in the summer, but he has to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt, hat and gloves to protect himself from getting burned when installing the signs. The metal gets so very hot in the sun! They talk a bit about maybe moving to the east coast where one of our married granddaughters live. Nothing certain, though. We now have two great-grandchildren, who are less than one year old. But we have not seen them in person yet. One is in Arizona, and the other is on the east coast. We are hoping they come to Wisconsin for a visit soon. We know how precious those little ones are, don't we Michel, especially as we ourselves get older. I know you do not enjoy Facebook, so I really appreciate your coming there to comment to me! Blessed Easter to you and your family!

  • Happy Easter, Michel, to you and your precious family!
    HUGS!!! :-)
