  • Joe et les 3 petits cochons

Joe and the 3 little pigs .

On the last Sunday of May there was around the town hall of Amiens an exhibition of farm animals and natural agrucultural produce such jam , jelly , honey …bread . Amiens is the capitale of the Picardy , an area of the north of France . This is an important agricultural region .

We had at home at this time , Sarah that anyone knows and her little brother Joe . I drove them to the exhibition .. I thought it was good the children living in a town know the biological reality .

It was a frank success . Joe was fascinated with the little pigs . I didn' t succeed to get him off his amazement . It ' s true this little pigs were wonderfully pink and looked at him with a mischievous  eye !

A l ' enclos à moutons c ' était pire encore .

At the sheeps " paddock " it was worse yet ! He wanted absolutly to touch the sheep and I believe strongly he would be entered the enclosure !

But nothing to do , what most passionates him is getting in the Grandma ' s car and holding the wheel ! Already addicted by the car ! The education is not simple nowadays !!

  • LOL at Kelly's comment as well as the blog.. those photos ~ they are soooo cute!!!  I bet the children had a wonderful day out!!

  • Farming is an important industry all over the world.  Members of my family were farmers and I loved visiting them and enjoying that culture.

  • aw piggies are so cute. my dad knows someone who has a piggy as a pet * a lil one* it says lil i duno. but it sleeps in bed with her.. i duno/./ i woudln't sleep with a pig. but i'd love to have one as a pet, that'd be awesome!

    *oink*
thats my lil saying i luv piggies
     and cows

  • for a second, the title of this entry misled me to think that you described your grandkids as petits cochons.

  • I have a strong agricultural background and share farm life with my family often, as it is important.  We also have a Cal Poly Farm Day where I help transport the day care children to the university to visit all of the animals.  Always a huge success!

  • ...cute pics and story, Michel! Joe is adorable and it does look like the next step is into the paddock. Boys are forever fascinated with cars - even the BIG ones! Hugs, MuSe

  • How cute! It is great that your grandson gets a good education about animals at this young age... And the car... er... it does seem a bit early, doesn't it ?!

  • All boys love cars!  The pigs are cute!

  • He looks like he has great fun learning, and is already practising to become Frances next Alain Prost

  • Allez Joe I am glad that he had fun with the animals and in Grandma's car

  • Boys might outgrow their fascination with pigs, but they never stop wanting to drive the car!   Guy

  • He is soooo cute!!!!

  • What a dear litle boy Joe is, Typical of a boy cars being of interest, although it seems the girls are getting as bad. Your show of animals reminded me of our Annual Royal show to which I used to take my children and then small grandchildren. They loved the baby nursery of animals and all the trick horse rding in the arena. They had show bags which werer cheap and worth it in my day, woe betide the parent today with such exagerated prices for junk. About the deaf being wise. I should say so, there are none so deaf as want to be. I have found. Matt can never hear if I say something boring but let me utter a word that strikes a chord and he is all ears ditto the pone always manages to hear that from my bedroom but not my voice. When you have been married for going on 58 years one gets to know the partners quirks and qualities very well. Like sometimes he will lie to me but I always know ,and he has to confess. I sometimes feel I frighten him into lying because I am perceptive. Nice to see regular posts again. You take care and don't work too hard, I do Love my husband in case you think I don't, he just annoys me at times. Love Marjie

  • Joe is a cute little boy.  I like the pigs and sheep too.  Boys get ready to drive so early don't they?  Of course, you will teach him to be a good driver.  zera

  • awwwww.. sooo cute..

And sorry I cannot say anything in French..

  • ah, that is the fun times. and you have to watch those children with an eagles eye so they dont put the sheep in their mouth!

  • Joe the explorer!  Wonderful!  It's good to see young people interested in animals and nature as well as wanting to take Grandma's car out for a spin!  Nice blog.  Cheers, Neil

  • My Miles went to a petting zoo we had at the park last September. He liked seeing the animals, but didn't want to touch them. Your grandson is a darling.

  • il me semble que tu as bien s'amuser!...

  • What a fun day! I know I was just like him when I was that age ... heck, I'm STILL like that now. :)

I'll bet Grampa had a great day, too.

Thanks for sharing the day with us!

    DG

  • Delightful child...delightful pictures.  It is so very good to have our children know the animals in our lives.  Thank you for the sharing.  Such smiles your post gave me

  • Its nice to see the world through a child's eyes

  • A little piggy ran down the road in front of my car. Its lucky I had the brakes done recently or it would have been bacon

  • Cars are beasts, too.  Perhaps it's the horsepower that attracts him.

  • How lovely that your lovely grandchildren have a wonderful exploring nature. And Joe seems to know just how to get from home to where the fun is! Hugs.

  • Very sad to think that the little pigs will be  " Jambon" next year.

Little Joe will become a farmer or a next Alain Prost?

    Bien à toi

    Carlo

  • aww, he's adorable!

  • Oh, that Joe is so full of himself! You can just see the gleam in his eye, full of mischief and love of all new things. Good thing he didn't pet the sheep or you would have smelled it for the rest of the day on him!

  • such a beautiful family...great pictures.

thanks for sharing them with us.

    namaste

  • Wow!  That is so cool!  I've never been around most farm animals and just happened to mention that to someone this week.  I think I would love to go to something like that.

  • What a lovely post and beautiful photos Michel . I think it's great that children see these animals, and learn about them like this .

Thanks for your comments on my photos .  The French translation for Brittany, you mentioned was used in Australia, but changed back to "Brittany" a few years ago . And yes...it is VERY painful when they die..I sometimes wonder why I still keep dogs because of this....

  • There is no better education for a child than to expose him to nature and let him develop an empathy with animals. Animals are the best teachers of compassion and unconditional love. Lovely pictures, Michel

  • It looks like they had a wonderful time!  Maybe Joe will be a veteranarian when he grows up....or a race car driver!!

  • Lovely photos Michel. Here, in Cheshire ( a farming area ) schools often take the children for a day on a farm, which usually has a " baby " animal park, where the kids can touch and stroke all of them. In some cities we have City Farms giving children the chance to see real animals. Aren't all men car mad ? Marie

  • There is a strong connection between little boys and cars!  Your life is full of wonderful days with family and happiness and it is good that you document this on Xanga for the world to share.

    Best wishes,  Tom

  • Activities that involve animals are always a big favorite around here, especially horses for Leah.  Joe looks as if he is having a marvelous time with animals and cars!

  • At the beginning of July our town will again host the Santa Barbara County Fair.  There will be many animals on display from the 4H and Future Farmers programs.  There will also be displays of flowers and vegetables and fruits that people have grown.  In the exhibition hall there will be needlework of all kinds to see.  Of course there will be all kinds of food and carnival rides for the children.

My grandchildren also enjoy seeing the animals.  Near my house is a small farm where llamas are raised.  It is most interesting to go see them.

    Carol

  • What a darling Joe is!!  I can see why he's fascinated with the farm animals.  Chase loves animals and likes me to make all of the sounds as I read about them to him or if we see some.

What is it about boys and cars???

  • Jude était fasciné par les petits cochons !
    a hug/a kiss

  • very cute pictures!! bye bye -dave

  • i'm always so pleased to read your entries :)

at the surface, so simple and sweet...but there is always something more

    merci, michel !

  • Your site has a beautiful new look since last I was here, I think!  Very nice.  I really like it!  If I had seen it then it was only once.  Seems like the seeing of the animals was very exciting for the little one.  But as usual mechanics win. lol  Kids and cars, they will always be totally fascinated by them.  I am sorry I have not been around and have been very remiss in my visits.  I have been so wrapped up in these idiots in my home,  I am afraid to take my eyes off of them for any period of time.  I will try to do better!  Have a great day and a wonderful tomorrow! ! ! !  Much love and many hugs ! ! ! !

  • Mic just loves animals too,any kind it doesn't matter to her, Joe is an adorable little boy!

  • Sounds like a wonderful outing....he sure is a cute kid.

  • Thanks for your many kind comments. I want to wish you Summer Solstice. Do you celebrate it in France? What do you call Summer Solstice in French?

What coincidences!

  • Are little boys born knowing how to drive? I like the picture of the sheep--just out of reach.

(I would would only go a little way north--not too far!)

  • i can understand why joe went crazy when he saw the pigs. i went beserk whenever i'm at the racoons corner down at the zoo. all the time! they're soo adorable.

    thanks for the laughs.

  • Farm parks are wonderful for little children and I can see that your grandson, Joe, had a wonderful time visiting the animals. Our children also had great fun when they were little ....

  • Lovely photos of Joe and the animals , I love visiting the markets when I am in France looking at all the great food .

I'm glad they bring you joy.
