Therefore one does not "ask for anything" = "Do nnot ask for anything" To say "Don't ask for nothing" is slang or lazy English The French, of course, was perfect. It came from l'homme special "Le Francais unique en Xanga!"

A correct variation is "Ask for nothing" and "They were happy and they asked for nothing."
And as usual, your English is excellent and I commend you on how hard you work on it. I certainly wish my French was even 1/5th as good.
