Cette photo est toujours accrochée à un mur de mon bureau depuis 1974 et je ne me lasse jamais de la regarder . Elle représente ma femme Janine assise dans un bois en Avril 1974 . Elle avait 35 ans .
Sur la photo on voit aussi notre fils aîné Thierry , 9 ans , et notre second fils , Pierre , 6 ans . Le 3ème fils , notre 6ème enfant Jean - Baptiste , est né à la fin de Juillet 1974 . Il y avait aussi le seul chien que nous avons eu , Netta , dont la tête est cachée .
Il est des photos qui vous réchauffent le cœur .

This picture always is hung on a wall of my personal office since 1974 and I am never tired to look at it . It shows my wife Janine sat in a wood in April 1974 . She was 35 years old .
On the picture you see also our oldest son Thierry , 9 years old and our second son , six years . The third son , our 6th child Jean - Baptiste was born at the end of July 1974 . There was also the only dog we had , Netta , whom the head is hidden .
There are pictures that keep your heart warm .

What a wonderful post, as always. That picture warms my heart. I do love the pictures from the far past, because they capture so much of what we tend to forget in the present. I am not sure if that makes sense or not. But I do love the happiness that some photos capture, especially ones from long ago.

What treasures the old photographs are. Your children are close in age to mine. My oldest daughter, Jane, will be 41 in December. Sarah, my middle daughter was 39 in June, and Elizabeth my youngest daughter was 37 in April.
This summer Elizabeth took all of the old family photographs my mother had and arranged them in a beautiful scrapbook. I do not know if "scrapbooking" is popular in France, but it is very popular here in the United Stated. When you put the photographs into an album you add various detqils to the page. It might be drawings, or putting attractive paper behind the photos or adding stickers. She found many things to use that were suitable for photographs that were 80 to over 100 years old. My mother who is 99 years old was so happy to see all of the photographs so beautifully displayed.

We, people who had large families must seem strange to the young of today. Mind you I don't know if 5 ( in my case ) or your six qualify for being considered a " large " family. Not many of my contempories had as amny children as we did - teachers in this town were well known for having just one or two so Frank and I broke the mould. Lovely photo. BTW thanks for the remedy, my chest is OK, the problem is my sinuses. I got a good old-fashioned remedy today - menthol crystals. You put some in hot water then inhale the fumes - it nearly blows your head off - but the sinuses soon clear.

oh, i love it. our families light up our lives from then to now. my kids and their antics today only make their antics from old photos more precious.

This photo would definitely keep my heart warm. It's full of beauty, expression, and good feelings. I also adore black and white photography. For some reason, the emotions of the people in these photos seems more intense.
Black and white photos always gives me a sense of....wonder! Technology has advanced the camera and the many ways to capture a photo, but the old photos in b&w or seppia illustrate the mood much better.

This photograph is ageless. It looks like it could have been taken today instead of 30 years ago. The way your wife looks at your boys holding on to their walking sticks is so maternal. To think that she is five months pregrant! I think she has a mona lisa smile

that's a beautiful photograph Michel. I've been taking photographs in black & white over the last weekend. My friend and I went to an old abandoned building and I shot a whole roll there ... I'm waiting for it to be developed so I can put the pictures here

One day, I must try those macarons from your town! The french make such wonderful sweets...much better than italians but don't tell my husband! I ate something called calissons two years ago, I think in the south of France. GOOOOOOD!!! I had never heard of Pierre Herme until 1 month ago, when I read the blog of a student at a pastry school in Paris.

How nice that you ask about me, I am touched. I am fine, I do have a later blog than the one that you commented on, although it is a long and personal blog. My son's Grandmother passed away 9/29 & he had a rather trying time as usual. I will try to blog tomorrow about what is going on in my life, things for me are pretty good right now. I love my new job.
I see this picture of your two oldest boys & Janine, I take it she was pregnant when this was taken, although you cannot tell by the photo. I can understand why this holds a special place in your heart....Janine is as lovely now as she is in this picture, and your boys are very handsome....I wonder though, who was holding Netta's leash??
