Jour de fête
Feast day
This last 8th of may we celebrated at our home our oldest granddaughter Julie ' s 16th birthday . . Here is , she goes down the stairs wearing a T - shirt where the words " joyeux anniversaire JULIE " are written .
We had of course a good meal with Champagne , Burgundy Pommard 1991 and Bordeaux St Emilion 1982 . Afterward we needed to take fresh air in the garden and the backyard . You understand that easily , I think .. At this occasion our oldest son Thierry ( on the right on the second picture ) invented a new game : the Fauquet ' s soccer danse .
Je surveille le tir de deux de mes petits enfants I supervise two of my grandchildren who make a shot
Then we led the grand children to the feast of the quarter . They wanted carbin shooting . The goal is to hit small balloons that move fastly to any directions . It was a pleasure for them and they have to be clever .
Et finalement le grand père tira aussi . Une balle , un ballon ! Eh oui !
Jour de joie !
And finally the grand father shooted too . One bullet , one balloon ! Eh yes !
Day of joy . !

What a FUN day!! Great pictures!! I bet she will always remember it! You must have a nice big family!!
Hope you are well and having a wonderful day!
...ah yes, I see the latest Grandchild too! This is first pic I've seen since he was born - now walking! From 16 years to toddler - you are blessed, Michel. And your Grandchildren are blessed with you as their Grandfather!
MuSe
...YES! Grandfather has to show younger ones how it is done! Enjoyed your post very much, Michel. Thanks.
Bonne anniversaire à Julie! It sounded like a fun-filled day for the whole family. La joie de vivre! You seem to be a skilled gunman, looking very serious with your shooting LOL
!
Sounds like it was a great fantastic family day, thanks for sharing it with us Michel
What a wonderful celebration, Happy Birthday to your Granddaughter, Julie. I have a cousin Julie, who's birthday is the 17th of May (she just turned 40!!) And, my son Ryan will be 24 on the 30th, Memorial Day. Did you know that between Labor Day (1st Monday in September & Memorial Day, last Monday in May...it is exactly 9 months??) I do.
You looked like such a serious rifleman in the last pic, and of course you impressed your Grandsons with your shooting prowess. Thank you for sharing your family and celebration with us all.

What a wonderful day you had! Thanks for sharing.
a bientot.
Thank you for sharing that. Looks like you all had a wonderful day!
It appears you had a grand day. The soccer dance looks like fun.
Here in the United States a girl's 16th birthday is considered very special. Is it so also in France? Again I am impressed with your loving family life. You are blessed to have so many of your family near you. Again, it is good to have you back on Xanga.
As ever,
Carol
A VERY happy belated 16th birthday to Julie!!
. Wonderful photos Michel
. You have a beautiful family
.
These shooting galleries are fun! Lots of cute toys to be won
.
Fun times with the family. Your joy shows in the pictures.
Happy Birthday to your grandaughter! All the pictures looked like you had a wonderful time!
Such a lovely family!
How wonderful. I miss the closeness of our grandchildren. They live so very far away from us! Money is a factor as we have to fly to see any of them! We have never seen Bruce's great grandchildren as they are in Hawaii and Missouri. Too far away for a car ride.
What a fun-filled day with the family. You have such a remarkable family!!!
Everything about your site is so beautiful, your family,
your pictures,
and your life.
Bonjour Michel,
A bientôt, Amicalement

Looked like a fun day. Greetings to you.
That is something I have noticed about your family - the closeness you are share. (Congratulations on your granddaughter's birthday.)
Thank you, once again, for taking the time to visit me on LJ - the story about my brother is rather long and involved...and, actually, could have been resolved about a year back if he had been responsive - but, unfortunately, he wasn't. It was rather compounded by the fact that my mother died tragically at the time, too.
you are so debonair..
vive le france!

Happy Birthday to Julie. What a lovley name!
and a marksman too!,
i wonder what else you have up your sleeves.
Bravos !
Thanks for the compliment on my site. And thanks for being such a faithful visitor! I appreciate your comments. The flute on my page is pretty, isn't it? I just love it.
Have a good weekend (((((Michel)))))
That looks like a wonderful day for you and the family!! Your children and grandchildren are so hansome! You are such a sharp dresser, too!
What a great day! And look at you, the master marksman! One shot, one hit. If a war ever breaks out, I want you in the foxhole with me my friend!
Have a great day!
DG
What a lovely family celebration and of course grandad showed them how to do it properly. My grandchildren ages range from 28 to 8, then of course there's the two greatgrand ones too 7 and 5. So like you there are always plenty of birthdays to celebrate
Marie
Your blogs are always so inviting and interesting to read. Thank you for the time you take to share them.
Glad you are able to celebrate with some of your family, reminded me of when my grandchildren were that age ,I found once they all grew up and started families of their own ,they didn't seem to need these family gatherings. I hope yours keep it up. Your eldest son looks like you. Thanks for all your comments to me. Trust you to hit the baloon first time ,clever clogs!! Ha Ha, Cheers {v{ Marjie

Sounds like a fun day!! And what a good shot...only one bullet! Surely that is better than I could do!
wonderful michel!!! a perfect day it would seem!
(I wrote most of this without the translator, but needed a little help near the end!) Je continue à essayer!
happy birthday to u granddaughter!
such a big and wonderful family. Do you have a license to shoot that gun?
Michel The Crackshot. One shot, one balloon.
Well done.
My teeth won't get purple yet, the bushes are just in bloom

sorry, the last sentence in my comment wasn't supposed to be there...
Happy birthday to Julie. Good shooting! It sounds like a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing.

To answer your question, the popularity of eating disorders in America...I honestly cannot tell you what to blame this on; it has partially to do with the ideas portrayed in the media that say that beautiful people are stick-thin people. Eating disorders can also be attributed to: family problems, pressure on a person to be perfect, the idea that dieting is normal, several, several things. I guess there isn't an exact reason that they are so popular in America, among other places. They are especially here in Hawaii, because the strong Asian population creates a generally thinner community, leaving the people of Caucasian race feeling an enormous pressure to be as skinny as their Asian counterparts, who are naturally thin.
P.S. : If you are interested in learning more about eating problems, for any reason, read "Wasted" by Marya Hornbacher
aww yes, pretty cool family.
Joyeux anniversaire Julie!

I wish my family got together for celebrations such as yours. I don't really have much family and I feel like I miss out on a lot.
Take care!

re your comment on my site. I have often been in cafes that are the living repositories of history, but I don't usually find out until later! There was a French one in Guadeloupe where political meetings of an informal nature between PLO and Israelis took place. I used to go there and wish I could speak French.
great family pics
whoa~! that seems like a whole ton of fun!! hope it was too!! i love the pictures really pretty~!!!
Thank you for commenting on my blog again Michel. I will be away for the rest of the week (see my latest entry) but will return to Xanga on Friday! Tom

Soon we will be closer in miles as well as close in our hearts.

Personally, I would just love to go with you and your wife and children any day if I ever get to France! It would be such a pleasure to be around a loving family and a handsome and elegantly mannered gentleman such as yourself. Your granddaughter's birthday must have been glorious!

Julie's very beautiful, Michel. Of course you're proud! The soccer dance looks fun, and I wonder if your French Army marksman skills came in handy for shooting the balloon!
