Formes et couleurs .
Un ami a réalisé cette carte lui même pour m 'envoyer ses vœux à la nouvelle année . Il écrit : " dans ce type de réalisation que j ' ai faite en témoignage de notre amitié , chacun y voit ce qu 'il veut , en fonction de sa spiritualité ou plus prosaïquement de ses préoccupations du moment . Tout est dans le jeu de l ' ombre et de la lumière , dans la variation progressive de la couleur . "
J ' ai été très sensible à ce travail d ' art qui m ' était dédié .
Et J ' aimerais savoir ce que vous ressentez en regardant cela .

Shapes and colors
A friend made this card on his own in order to send me his wishes at the New Year .
He writes :" in this kind of realisation that I made to give evidence of our friendship , everyone sees in it what he wants , according how his spirituality or simply her interests at this time are . All of things is in the play of shadow and light , in the progressive variation of colors " .
I was very sensitive with this work of art that was dedicaced to me .
And I would want to know what you feel about when you watch it.

I think this work of art is suited to you Michel. It is intriguing, interesting and nice to think about... and so are you my friend! It is happy colours and shows a certain amount of power in the bold reds and yellows, but the shadows make a little of a mystery and help to ease the brightness so it is still pleasant to watch.
It is very nice that a friend did this for you.

well, i had to look at it for a long time. because at first i only got yuch feeling from it. and wanted to look until i saw somethin happy. it looked to me like the earth, and some chaos, like something being attacked. and then finally, i saw, yes, i saw the yellow as God's angels, and the red/black as satan's angels, and they battle for the earth. and... i know how the battle ends
so now i see it as a joyous picture! thank you, michel.

I give a different importance to whatever one makes to me. A recorded tape, a poem, a selected song, a picture, a picked flower... HHmm... demonstrations of friendship are always so touching...

I see a ball hitting a mirror, the slivers of mirrored glass reflecting lights from different places, hence the different colours. It is beautiful.

Michel - how wonderful to have this work dedicated to you! It looks very much alive, and excited - like the search lights swinging through the night before a theater opening. The colors make me thing of the earth, alive and fertile - basic and grounded. Nice.

C'est un morceau intéressant d'art. J'aime la manière que la couleur se déplace à travers la toile. Il y a beaucoup de mouvement dans ce morceau. J'aime le choix de couleur aussi bien. L'a-t-il fait sur son ordinateur? Le bon travail!

Shadow and light are what I am studying in art. Carlo and I paint for hours, our dining room walls dripping with wet masterpieces...he he. Now it is water colours, later hopefully will be acrylics and oils.

I am thinking that if the painting would be 3 meters by 6 ,it will be real impressionant. It looks to me that in a little christmas card it is like a bird in a cage.

To me it seems to represent your friendship, whole, complete ( the ball shape ) and the dark as the sorrows you've shared but predominately it is the brightness of true friendship that shines out. You are lucky to have your own masterpiece.

That is difficult. I find it rather a peculiar picture to make up and send to someone. I liked it, the colours, and it seems to be forms of people reaching out to a sun or moon with lightening strikes. What I can't get is your connection to that. I would have thought with your gentle sensitive nature, something more soothing would be appropriate. However you know the person I don't. Muse sent me a star for Xmas which only came a few days ago. Whether she made it herself I do not know but it is unusual , I wish I had my scanner already but I haven't yet. Cheers Marjie
I love abstract art! I love how each person can find a hint of the same feeling and meaning in such a simple and direct piece. I hope that you see in this piece something of your friendship with him. I am sure you do, for abstract art is for both the artist and the beholder! There is much more left to the imagination in this piece than many others, and I think this is a feature to treasure. I think that is a very skilful work of art. Although it is abstract, there is much to see in it. I would rather look at that than Jackson Pollock's random splashes of paint. Tom

I responded more to the colours - the deep spiritual purple globe, the energetic red and orange spikes, and the sunburst of vibrant happy yellow triangles.
It took me a little while to get used to it - I wasn't sure I liked it at first - but it definitely 'grows' on you

I see the universe which always exists....the sun, the moon and the energy and tidal pulls. I see the positive and negative parts of this life that we walk...connected to the universe...each negative and positive part connected to our own lives. And the energy that runs through...life energy...God's power present and larger than anything else but not always visible to the unsearching eye.

What I see when I look at this is world unity. Does that sound weird? It was my first thought when I saw it. It's like all different cultures and beliefs in one painting making them all united in some way or another. It is beautiful and made for a very special person!

I missed this posting as I was traveling. I like that you asked what people what they feel. The answers are so interesting.
For me it carrys me to my feelings that are familiar about change. I feel great energy coming toward me from the image. First I am surprised, then I react by not being very comfortable and begin to act to look for something soothing to comfort myself. It feels as if there is fast movement and explosion of all that seems to be real... behind it there is a feeling of calm and lovingness- the feeling of great space.
You are lucky to have a friend who sees you in such a way. Thank you for redirecting me here. I am glad that I didn't miss this blog. Take good care for soon you will be in the garden early in the mornings! -g
