Let us go for a walk to the garden (3 ) . Trees ans flower beds .

Leaving the Mauricette ' s house you immediatly see a vine arbour which needs to be cut . We will have grape at the end of September if I put bunches of grapes in paper bags against the blackbirds and if I succeed to stop the threatening oidium . In opposite a tall dark yew tree is a shelter for many passerines  . Good morning , Mr the Academician : an ivy - clad walnut tree looks like a member of Académie Française , wearing his green habit . My wife use its still green fruits to product " wine of walnut " . Not bad . Here is , now , an apple tree : Queen of pippins ( early ripened sweet apples ) . Another apple tree : " red Calville " gives its good red apples every two years .At last two ornemental trees : a strong holly that I had to head down some years ago but it is tall again and a Sophora Japonica , twist branch and trunk tree with a weeping foliage . We met two flower beds . At the origin it was the lawn . But a long time ago I burned dry brushes piles and after that I had a burned ground ! So I made flower beds at those places . At this moment are flowering : Dahlia , salvia officinale  and holly - hock , glommis ..... There are also in the middle two little sickly trees : a medlar - tree and a quince - tree . I planted on my own these last trees but they don' t like that place . A red hawthorn signalize the vegetable garden entrance . We will visit it the next time .
