Une hutte dans un arbre
A hut in a tree .
English version after the first picture
Simples plaisirs !
Luis and Nicolas
Last week we have had 6 grandchildren on holidays at our home . The weather was fine .
One of their best pleasure has been to build a hut in a tree of our garden in using cut branchs , tiles and dead leaves . The 2 boys Nicolas ( 8 years old ) and Luis ( 9 years old ) were clever builders and climbers . The two girls brought the materiel that they could bear . All of them were happy to find out this ancestral pleasure . Who has never built a hut in his youth ?
On the second picture we see at another moment the two girls Clara ( 5 years old ) and Manon ( 4 year next July ) playing sweeping in a corner of the front yard . Simple pleasures !

Beautiful children. It looks like they really enjoy their time with their grandparents.
Quels beaux souvenirs pour plus tard!
It is the simple things in life that bring you so much joy. Your grandchildren are adorable Michel.
beautiful, few things are better than a kid, a warm day, and a tree.
When you are a child there is NOTHING BETTER than making memories like this with your siblings, cousins and grandparents.

Honestly, whenever I feel out of sorts I think back to times like this and feel safe and content again.
Playing outside, building huts , or 'forts' as we called them.
So much pleasure!
Nothing brings more pleasure to a child than enjoying doing something that also pleases someone, as long as it's something they rarely do, you can get children to do any job.
Your grandchildren must think its great to visit your house
. Did there parents build a den when they were younger ? Today the weather has been good here as well
thanks for sharing, Michel. your pics are always a delight - especially of the grandkids~!

What a pleasure to see children enjoying the simple fun of childhood. Too soon they are grown-up.

I remember so well when my children built their first hut! They played in it all summer. Thanks for bringing back such a great memory. Your grandchildren are beautiful.
I wish I could come play with them - that looks like a lot of fun!!

The children look so intent, and interested, and blissfully happy. Just lovely.
Children always enjoy the simple things despite having all the technology of this age. My children,GC and GGC have always loved watering the garden - it kept and keeps them quiet for hours
Lovely GC you have. [v} Marie
Cheryl
THey look like they are having so much fun!
ahh, Michel, your grandchildren are so adorable. i wish i could return to such a free time when all i had to worry about was building a hut. thank you for sharing with us!
I never built a tree house in my childhood, but instead there were many snow fortresses in the winter.
Some of my sweetest childhood memories are of helping my parents and my grandparents in the garden and of helping my grandfather shoveling snow in the long winters.
How cute!
When I was a kid, every year my cousins and I used to build a cubby in the haystack. That looks like a great tree for a tree house.
somedays I wish for the simplicity of youth...
lovely children!
Aubrey
The boys are rather high in that tree, aren't they? It looks like a nice tree to climb. And the little girls look like they are having fun, too. Your yard looks lovely with all the plants. And your home is so filled with love.
It looks like they had lots fun! I used to love to play in trees when I was small.
Oh, this brings back wonderful memories of the tree house(hut) my brothers put up in a tree at our place when I was a little girl. That was in the early 50s. They taught me how to climb up into it. What fun I would have. I can just imagine the joy you had watching all this activity go on.

Tree houses are wonderful!
Grand-pere?
The photos are beautiful and the tulipe in first plan is gorgeous.
Very interesting the way boys and girls do different things

Such a wonderful thing it is to be a child when the world holds its simple pleasure
Awww - I love it when you post pictures of the grandchildren! They are so sweet!
Take care!
oh michel! Your grandchildren are so very adorable :0 You must have enjoyed their company at home
Simples plaisirs !
Cordiales salutations
Anne-Marie
I remember sweeping my playhouse (as Clara and Mannon do) which was under a big pine tree in my Grandmother's back yard. Your granddaughters will remember these little things when they are 55 years old and they will bless their Grandparents.
such joyus pictures of the beautiful kids playing..So beautiful to be at that age and just play and play.
hugs,
rubymoon
Many hugs to your grand children and your family, it is so nice that they live near you to be able to visit you and their cousins and to truly know the love of their family.. This experience and this sort of fun can't be replaced by TV or modern electronic games...
Michel, I enjoy so much seeing your grandchildren! They are very capable and energetic! I liked to be in the tree as a child, so I climbed and once I could not climb back down!
I had to call for someone to come and get me.
Still, it was fun and I went up again!! Thank you for sharing the pictures with us of your beautiful family.
Hugs and love,
Deb
My friends and I had a gang hut when I was little [ blush ] but some bigger kids came and destroyed it
Your grandchildren look as if they're having lots of fun here, Michel!
We used to build tree houses as well....something that was so magical to me at the time!
Lovely blog!
A treehouse!!! ooh ... i had built one too ... so many memories rush back.Yep your grandchildren are having a blast ... just like they should be! These kinds of summer vacations stay etched in your mind for ever!
What beautiful children. I'm sure they are a blessing to you. Kisses, Kate
Ah to be a child again! What simple joys in the building of a tree house and digging in the sun kissed soil. You are a very rich man Michel. Thank you for sharing your sweet family once again.
I can remember well the joy of climbing trees and building tree houses. It was a very good part of growing up, for me. I can see that your grandchildren are really enjoying this, but...I have a feeling that "Grampa" is enjoying it more.
Your yard is so beautiful with all the trees and flowers. What a *fairyland* for your grandchilren to enjoy. I am sure their imaginations run wild, in such beautiful surroundings.
Have a good day.
Love

Life at itz finest moments! *smilez*..i've always wanted to build a tree house when i was young ..or go to Disneyland! Neither of which i have done! But my youth was happy timez as well!
We all belong to mothernature!=)...You always make me want to have a family Michel..but yet i know i'm not ready yet! LOL
How r you lately? Hope all is well!=PPPPPPPPPPPPPP
Absolutely gorgeous grandchildren!!!
Have a wonderful day!
How delightful! Every child MUST have a "treehouse" was we called them. Sweet children, Michel. You are all lucky to have each other..
The children at play are adorable. I remember our hut, built in the vacant lot across the street, with spare plywood, cardboard and any other materials that we could find. We had a marvelous time! The girls sweeping remind me of our housekeeping efforts back in that day, including large sun dried laundries for the dolls' clothes.
Michel...some of my best moments are remembering me and my brother, long deceased, playing in our tree house. Oh how safe we were from the world and sorrows there. We we safe... and then as a small girl before he was born...I used to rake leaves to make the outline of a playhouse. Many rooms can be made of leaves. thank you for the joy of making me remember
You are so very good at that
What a delightful bunch! You are a very blessed grandfather. I agree with the idea of "smple pleasures" in youth. So many things that bring happiness to the small. I am experiencing this ten-fold right now as Jakey has learned to crawl and explore "the world". He takes pleasure in running his fingers on all the different textures and materials in the house. One of his biggest loves as of late (thanks to grandma lisa) is for doors. He will sit for minutes on end opneing and closing a door. And when he has had enough of one particular door he moves on to another, and then on to cupboard doors. It is so fun to watch him.
And I have to say that the 2 grandboys are very lucky to have such a glorious tree to make a hut in. It looks to me to be a prime estate. I am jealous.
love and thoughts to you friend
sarah
Wonderful! When I was about 8 or 9, my brother and I built a hut on the ground out of branches and stuffed the holes with leaves and twigs. Our parents let us sleep overnight in it, and while the cold wind blew the leaves through the holes and we were freezing, it was such an adventure.
I once built a fort in a little forest near my Mothers home. Her yard was too pristine for playing. She'd worry that I'd ruin her rose garden.
Allez l’OM ! ^_^
What wonderful memories that brings back for me!! My brother and I built many things including a fort with a trap door and a little "roller coaster"...of course it only when straight down the hill!!!!
I'm glad that you had your family around you and the kids had so much fun!!
Hugs!!
Lisa
Awesome! Reminded me of when I was a child. I miss the simple pleasures of life. Thank you for sharing and taking me back many years.

Where I grew up outside Miami, Florida, there were few trees. We had to ride our bicycles several miles to build a tree fort in a pine tree. But, we did
Simple pleasures, indeed! They are adorable! Thank you for the Mother's Day greetings!
Happy mother's day to all the women in your life as well
Take care!
looks like they are having lots of fun!!! Oh to be a kid again. I didn't do much in treehouses, I was always off riding the horses!!
Michel! I have not forgotten you, forgive me for not including you. The list of thank you's was intended for my younger friends at school, and you were not the only person confused. To make it up to you, I will hopefully be doing a thank you to my other friends as well--and you will be included
Thank you for never forgetting me, as I love your comments.

How wonderful
My brothers built a tree house when we were younger. I use to love going up into it.
Thanks for reminding me of those wonderful days.
Michel, as always your pictures and your blog are a joy. Your grandchildren seem wonderfully engrossed in their activities. Sounds like a wonderful time for everyone. These pictures remind me of the things I used to do when I was younger. The sweeping especially.
Jana
for some reason this just got me thinking about how quickly my daugther is growing up...
Looks fantastic. We just got back from scout camp where they built 'Bivvies' to sleep in. But the weather turned on us and it poured wtih rain, so they couldn't sleep in them. Maybe later in the year we'll get another try.
Simple pleasures, rich rewards!
Tres cute! Happy mother's day to your family!
Ah, simplicity of childhood. Sometimes people just need to be a kid again.
I swear those grangchildren of yours gets more precious every day. You have the most beautiful family, Michel. Obviously because they come from a great looking man!
You are so kind always checking in on me. I get the biggest smile when I see you've stopped by my site to see me. Another xanga friend and I have talked about visiting France soon and would love to stop by for a visit with you if possible. We both think the world of you.
They certainaly look as though they had a great time with you.
Angela
thank god some stuff stays just the same.
Simple pictures, yes, but they say so much. God bless the children.
One of my great joys of childhood was building treehouses/forts. I would bring the boys hammers, wood and nails. I was a tomboy (a girl who did boy things) for a long time until discovered that boys were not icky! I loved being allowed to crawl up to the top and look out over the tree top view...
Ah, the little joys of childhood! Precious grandchildren they are....
