Travaux sur la maison .

  Dernièrement des réparations avaient à être faites sur les cheminées de la maison et tout autour . De hauts échafaudages avaient dressés . C ' était assez spectaculaire .

  C ' est terminé . Voici l ' aspect de notre maison maintenant . Elle semble grande .Elle a été construite vers 1920 , 1930 . Quand nous l ' avons achetée en 1986 , nous venions d ' Arras , autre ville du nord de la France où nous avions déjà une grande maison car nous avions 6 enfants . Nous avons dû venir à Amiens pour mon travail et nous avions encore 5 enfants avec nous , l ' aînée étant mariée .

  Maintenant les enfants sont partis et la maison est souvent vide . Cependant elle est pleine quand la famille se réunit . Et il y a les petits enfants . .La semaine prochaine Joe , Sarah , Nicolas et François seront ici avec ma femme Janine et moi . La maison revivra et résonnera de leurs rires .

Works on the house .

  Lastly,  repairings had to be made on the chimneys of the house and all around . High scaffolding was stood up . It was rather spectacular .

  It ' s ended . Here is the look of our house , now . It looks large . It has been built around 1920 , 1930 . When we bought it in 1986 we were coming from Arras another town of North France where we already had a large house because we had six children . We had to come in Amiens for my job and we had 5 children yet , the oldest being married .

  Now , all the children have gone and the house is often empty . However it is full when the family is gathered . And there are the grandchildren . The next week Joe , Sarah , Nicolas and François ( see the previous post ) will be here with both my wife Janine and me . The house will be alive again and will sound with their laughs .
