Le 23 Avril dernier je me préparais à tondre la pelouse . Quand soudain j' entendis une clameur de protestation . Ecoutant plus attentivement , je réalisais que c' était les petites pâquerettes qui étaient en foule dans le gazon. Pourquoi nous couper la tête disaient -elles ? Ne vois - tu pas que nous t'offrons un beau tapis blanc ? Arrête cette fiche tondeuse .Je pris le temps de la réflexion . Elles avaient raison . N ' avais  je pas attendu pour les primevères quand elles étaient tout en fleur.  je remis la tondeuse dans son abri . Et en effet j' admirai mon beau tapis blac naturel.  Après un quart d'heure de contemplation je suis allé faire le tour du potager

   On last 23 April I was preparing to mow the lawn. Suddenly I 'heard a clamor of protest. Listening more carefully, I realized that it 'was the little daisies that crowded in the grass. Why cut off our heads? -they said.  See,  Do not we offer to you a beautiful white carpet? Stop this darn mower. I took the time to think. They were right. Did have not I wait for primroses when they were all in bloom?. I put the mower in its shelter. And indeed I 'admired my beautiful natural white carpet. After fifteen minutes of contemplation I went round the veggie garden

Je marchais dans l' allée autour du potager et je suis tombé d ' admiration devant une branche de pommier fleurie sur le fond d ' azur  du ciel .  C ' était un si beau spectacle qui s 'offrait à moi comme un cadeau divin . Et juste à coté un autre pommier commençait seulement sa floraison . Mais ces bougeons floraux entr' ouverts étaient si jolis avec leur nuances de rose . Je restais là en méditant pendant un bon moment.

I  was walking down the path  around the veggie  garden and I fell in admiration before  a  apple tree branch blossoming on the background of blue sky. That was a beautiful sight that offered to me as a divine gift. And right next to another apple tree just beginning its bloom. But these flowers buds starting to open  were so pretty with their pink nuances. I stood there pondering,  during a long time

Mes chers ami , pour diverses raisons cette entrée est la dernière sur Xanga . j ' ai commençé Xanga en 2001 , cela fait 14 ans . Il est temps d ' arrêter même avec le cœur lourd . Toutefois je recommencerai un nouveau blog sur WordPress le 1er mai ou le 2 Mai prochan . Au revoir et merci  à ceux qui sont commentaitent encore ici venant de Xanga ou d ' ailleurs.

My dear friends , for some reasons this entry is the last on Xanga. I started Xanga in 2001 , 14 years ago. It is time to stop even with a heavy heart. However I will re -start a new blog on WordPress on the next May first or two . Au revoir and thanks to those who still commented here, coming from xanga or elsewhere. .

Départ depuis l' estuaire de la Charente  le samedi 18 Avril  à 10h.30 de la réplique de la frégate  Hermione ,  qui emporta la Fayette en Amérique en 1780 pour aider les ” patriots ” américains à gagner leur combat pour l’indépendance.  Qui sait ce que seraient devenus ces colons sans l' aide massive de la France ?
La frégate arrivera à Yorktown, lieu de la victoire décisive  en Juin et à New York le 4 Juillet.
275 ans plus tard

On Saturday  April 18 ( 10h30 pm French hour ) , departure from the river Charente estuary of the replica  of the frigate Hermione   which shipped the Marquis de la Fayette in 1780 to help the american " patriots" to win their fight for the Independence. Who knows what those British colonies would  be become without the massive help of France?
The ship will arrive in Yorktown ( place of the decisive battle) in June  and  in New York  in July 4.

I asked her on  April 10  morning  in a comment  : “What a good surprise to read your comment this morning Gracia . So you can comment and not post.
 One question: : Did Xanga make you propositions to allow you to continue to post and comment, before the expiration of your subscription? "

 She answered to me the same day via a comment on my previous entry (Easter Sunday familial meal ):
“Dear Michel, No, Xanga didn't give me any warning at all. I think when I e-mailed Eugenia she replied with a date when my subscription would expire but that was several months ago. My daughter also wrote her a short time after that, and hers doesn't expire until August. I really don't think they quite know what they are doing. Love to you and Janine, Gracia”

And on April 10 in the morning I sent an e.mail to Xanga Help.( help@xanga.net ) Here is the copy:

“Hello,

My xanga name is : fauquet

My e.mail address is : ………….@........fr

My xanga subscription expires the first of May 2015.

Are we warned by Xanga of the near end of the subscription ?

Please could you tell me how to renew the subscription,

Is there money to give to renew ?  How much ? and in this case how to pay?

I am sorry to see many xangans having their ability to post suppressed without any proposition to renew.

I am waiting a quick  answer to the questions above . If not I will be forced to migrate after 14 years  of active presence on Xanga and after participation to the fundraising of October 2013.

 This message is sent to Eugenia but can  Eugenia take decisions ? Who are the invisible members of the “hypothetic  “ xanga team “ ?

No answer from Xanga Help this morning  of April 13.

I fear I have been too much confident in October 2013  and  that the dawn of the first of May will see my Xanga death . What do you think and what can be done ?

Nous étions 26  à participer au repas du Dimanche de Pâques . Janine avait utilisé un nouveau système de tables indépendantes et rondes . C ' était plus facile pour se déplacer et on pouvait être plus nombreux . Nos six enfants et leur famille étaient là ainsi que deux cousins.

We were 26 at the Easter Sunday familial meal . Janine used this time a system with independent round tables .  It was more easy to move  and we could have more people around the tables .Our six children and their family were there and two cousins.

Mais avant le repas une chasse aux œufs étaient nécessaires pour les jumeaux Yris et Raphaël

 But before the meal we watched the eggs  hunters : the twins Yris and Raphael with their parents Jean-Baptiste and Melody

Le repas s 'est déroulé dans une  chaude ambiance familiale avec le bonheur de pouvoir se retrouver ensemble . Ce système de plusieurs tables facilitait aussi les échanges , les conversations mutltiples.

It was a good familial ambiance , the happiness to be all  gathered . This system of tables made the conversations easier

Sur la photo ci - dessous on voit que Janine était très heureuse de cette réunion de  la famille .  Elle tient dans ses bras un des jumeaux ; Yris

Au milieu du repas on fait une pause . Une promenade dans le potager aide à la digestion

At the middle of the meal  a litlle walk in the veggie garden helps the digestion. On this group we see from the left to right : Chantal, my cousin René 's wife, my son Pierre, the valiant Knight of the Duchess, and my cousin René ( the seals'friend)

Et ceci est  complété de façon heureuse par une petite pétanque sur gazon! Ensuite on pourra continuer le repas pour se délecter du fromage et du dessert?

And this is happily completed by a bowling on the grass . Afterwards we will return to the dining room to finish the meal and to be delighted by the cheese and dessert

Et enfin après le repas, chacun aide à desservie les tables et à faire ma vaisselle. C ' est aussi un moment privilégier pour bavarder plaisanter et rire.

And after the meal everyone helps Janine to clean tables and dishes . This is also a privileged moment for exchanges , jokes  and laughters.

Comme on le voit le dur travail de Janine pour préparer ce grand repas a été récompensé . Et moi dans tout cela . J ' ai juste à dire merci à Janine  avec reconnaissance . Deo gratias.

As you see , the hard  work of Janine to prepare this big meal has been deserved . And   what about me? I have only to say thank you Janine  and be grateful. Thanks God .

  O Ami , prends le temps de vivre.
Le 26 Mars dernier  nous avons visité les tombes de ma famille dans ma région natale, le Boulonnais à environ 140 km au nord d'Amiens, prés de la côte. Nous sommes allés le matin dans quatre cimetières , sous la pluie. Après cela nous étions trempés et fatigués  and nous avons pris le repas de midi dans un restaurant dans une station balnéaire appelée Wimereux. Jamais un restaurant n' avait aussi bien mérité son nom et atteint son but : nous restaurer
Après quoi nous sommes allés voir la mer tout près puis nous sommes allés dans une autre station balnéaire Wissant visiter un vieil ami.
C ' est ce petit trajet de Wimereux à Wissant que je raconte dans ce court film.
Vous verrez la mer et les paysages variés et captivants. De temps en temps  nous devons regarder ce qui est autour de nous et déguster ces simples mais si merveilleux moments de la vie. Oui, ami, viens avec nous via cette vidéo!

O friend, take the time to live .
Last March 26, we visited the family graves in my birth area : Boulogne sur mer in Northern France( 140 km from Amiens)  near the coast. We went in the morning  to four  cemeteries under the rain . After this we were soaked and tired  and we took a meal in a restaurant in a resort called Wimereux . Never a restaurant did merit so well its name and   goal : restore us .
Afterwards we went to see  the sea nearby   then we xent to another resort Wissant,  to visit an old friend.
This is this small trip from Wimereux to Wissant , I relate in this short film .
You will see the sea and the landscapes are captivating and various .  Some time to time we have to look at what is around us and to enjoy a simple but so wonderful time of life . Yes, friend,  come with us via this video.

At the Easter Eve celebration we listened to an excerpt of the Exodus : the passing of the Red Sea

 The Israelites went through the red sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left when Moses raised his stick in obeying to the order of God. When we heard this read I told my grandson joe ( 14)that the sea red was like death that we pass though it in watching the cross raised like the stik of Moses. He understood immediatly the meaning of the read

A la veillée pascale nous écoutions la lecture d'un extrait de l' Exode : le passage de la mer rouge

Mais les Israélites ont traversé la rea mer rouge à sec, avec un mur d'eau sur leur droite et à leur left.when Moïse a soulevé son bâton en obéissant à l'ordre de Dieu. Lorsque nous avons entendu cette lecture je ai dit à mon petit-fils joe (14 ans ) que le rouge de la mer était comme la mort que nous passons bien en regardant la croix élevée comme le stik de Moïse. Il comprit immédiatement la signification de l'extrait de l'exode
