  • The joys of a grandmother

    Les joies d’une grand-mère
    The joys of a grandmother

English text  above the video to ease the viewing.

Lately we had at home some  grandchildren that my readers know well. My wife Janine is doing a max to make them happy and by this way she is herself happy and becomes sometimes incredible .
I gathered three mini reports to make a short funny video  ( 2 minutes ) . You will not regret to watch it !!

    - first part ( recorded  by Manon, 14 year old next July) : Grandma at the bowling for the first time of her life and she won!  Please applaud the style of her play .

-Second part: I put there two photos of the grand children Manon , Antoine and another Clara ( almost 16) who were planting potatoes in the dry ground : Clara digs , Manon improves the hole and Antoine puts carefully the precious tuber in the hole! The second photos shows Janine and our second daughter, Veronique who are  digging the rock ! (the ground of the veggie garden)

    - third part : Janine is doing the musical education of the 20 month old  twins, Raphaël and Yris, starting by the rhythm .  Please increase  the sound of the video and of your computer because the music is not loud )..

Such  are the joys of a grandmother in April-May.

  • Applauding Jeanine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good to see the children helping in the garden. The twins are growing up. Thanks for sharing your family with us.

  • Oh! What precious time spent together! :-)

    I am applauding Janine! :-)

The children are blessed to have Janine as their grandmother! :-) What fun! :-)

Grand and great-grands make living a long time worth it! :-)

    How are you feeling, Michel!?

    HUGS!!!

  • The children perhaps someday will become musicians, maybe even symphony conductors! They have mastered the waving of their hands to the music and put a smile on my face! ( and their grandmother's face also!)

    • Indeed we have been surprised to see how very young children already had the sense of the rhythm

  • Wonderful! The twins are catching on nicely! Soon you may have enough musicians to have your own band!!!

    • You are right the twins are full of promises, and among our grandchildren, Antoine plays very well, trombon, another ,Clementine, plays piano and among children one of them, Pierre is an excellent guitar player and another ,Thierry played very well clarinet in the past. Personally I play flute but the breath becomes a bit short and the fingers less fast .

  • that is fun and you do things with grandkids that you haven't done in ages.

    Love the little ones, too.

My grandson is 18 months old and the brother is now 4yrs old.

  • Very charming post.

    blessings, Michel

I can't believe that was grand'mere's first time bowling.
Thanks for sharing. I've often wished to know how to make youtube video's.
    Hoping all is well.
    Blessings,
    Lynn

  • Oh that video was so precious! The twins are so cute and delightful! The rest of the video was also lovely.

I haven't been bowling in over a year. I should try to get some people I know together to go bowling one night soon.

    Take care!

  • Sweet videos.....

  • hey, my birthday was May 3rd I'm 63yrs old now.

yes, my son and I look a like but then he looks like his dad, too.

  • I wonder how the twins would be with a pot and wooden spoon for music? :-)

ryc: hamburgers with tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese is a treat for her as not a regular meal I hope. She is putting in overtime at work this week and I hope she doesn't stop for fast food on the way home.

I assume you have no blueberries there? Very good fruit. Google the images and you can see them in food.

    • To be frank I never saw blueberries patches myself but this does not meant theuy do not exist in France . Janine and I loved pick wild blueberries in the mountains and enjoy blueberries pies . However the teeth become blue!!:-)

  • The joys of family cannot be surpassed by anything. It is truly God's gift to us <3 Love to all, Nancy

Glad you are back. I missed you!

  • TY so very much for your comment on my photo of TD and Ali.

  • You have some budding musicians in the family Michel. Such rhythm and precise movements of hands and bodies. One of them might even become a conductor of music perhaps.
Great video. Grandmothers have all the fun!

  • Dave is 6'5" but he's getting shorter the older he gets.

  • So now is Janine ready to do competitive bowling! LOL She is not bad, even pretty good! Is that beginner's luck? The twins are so adorable and those CHEEKS! O mon Dieux! What a wonderful family!

  • Well done bowling. It is not easy. And what beautiful music!

  • Adorables!

Our 15 grandchildren call us Grand-Père and Grand -Mère as we asked their parents

  • RYC: How did your kidney doc appointment go?!

  • How delightful to come back to Xanga after a break of my own, and to find that you are back, Michel! I love your video of the bowling, gardening, & music. How fun for Janine & the twins to spend time together with the musical toy! The twins are learning to move to the music nicely! :-)
Upon reading both Carolyn's question and your responses on her site, I am concerned for you & your health. My prayers are being lifted up for you. Love & prayers, Carolyn ♥

  • RYC: Prayers for you, Michel shall continue. I’ll keep checking back with you to see how you are. ♥ Love, Carolyn
