    Dream ...

Yesterday at a restaurant where I had a lunch with my ex - colleagues , the young waitress was inattentive . With a smile and  kindness we kept her informed we had noticed . She answered ; " excuse me , I was dreaming " . What kind of dreams does a young lady do ? ...

I don't speak here about dreams of the night but about the dreams all of us have for our future . Personally when I was a child I had dreams . I have been able to realize some but not all of them . I have realized others but not by the way I had imagined . And now have  I again dreams for me and the future of my family and the future of the  world ? Yes ,  of course . But  I think they will be more difficult to realize , because I have less possibilities to act on the events .

I have not been really reflecting about the dreams before . We speak about projects of life more or less precise but what about the dream ? Is not this project  of life the  translation in acts of a dream ? It ' s sure there are also foolishes dreams but can we live without dream ?

  • I have often derailed my dreams by impatience.  Poor choices result in much effort to clean up the consequent mess.  I press on, determined to make better choices and to fulfill as much of my dreams as possible.  Thank God for eternity!

  • ...Michel, do you speak of dreams as in hope? As to the goals/end results we set for ourselves, family and country? Dreams as in the visions of what we hope/want for ourselves and others?
Than yes, I have dreams. Not as much as I once did as I have witnessed the unexpected twists and turns in life. Now I am much more into the present and the gifts of the day. MuSe

  • Dreams...  as in goals, aspirations?  I think we all have to have them!

  • I think we all dream... Or invision!!

    Have a great day Michel!!

  • Je rêve d'un futur de l'amour. Amour pour le monde. Pourquoi ? Je rêve également de lire votre français... Sans traduction à l'anglais

  • Sometimes in school I use to sit and daydream all day Its nice to day dream just for a moment to take our minds off whats going on around us

  • The dreams we have as we grow older are so different to the dreams we have when we were young.  It is too late to fulfil the dreams of youth, but the dreams of later life are more attainable I think.  Tom

  • Day dreams can be so awesome. This we do when we are conscience. We can follow them and make them happen. It is up to each individual.

  • But life happens.  Dreams change.  Priorities change.

  • I dreamt of two fellow Xangans last night... I need to let them know!

  • What a perfect post!! I am one person who always lives with one foot on the ground and one up in the clouds.. wishing and hoping on many dreams.. some of which, are finally coming true!!!

  • dreams are what makes life worthwhile

  • And the food must have been great too.

    Service and dreams included.

    Bon dimanche Michel.

  • Beautiful blog, michel.

I think there are many who are unfortunately forced to.  Physically anyway.  But many would say that they're like the walking dead.  What do we live for, if not for dreams, even those that have come true or been achieved?

thank you for your email and kind comments while i was gone, also about the new profile picture..much appreciated!!

  • No, Michel, mon ami, I do not think we can live without the dream.  I have been a dreamer all my life and I think that is what has made me creative.  In the bad times, I lose sight of the dreams, and that is not good.  It makes it hard to get up in the morning.  But on a good day, I can get lost in a butterfly's colors and I watch it move in and out of the blast of light from the sun and I feel so good at just that moment.  I dream about painting that, and I am feeling good again.   Thank you, for reminding me, of dreams.  Kat

  • Dream other dreams...and better !

Ah, le rêve... Il y aurait beaucoup à dire, beaucoup à discuter... Mais en bref:

Il est impossible de ne pas rêver.

    Il est essentiel de rêver.

Ah, dreams... There would be much to say, much to discuss... But in short:

It is impossible not to dream.

It is essential that we dream.

  • Oops, forgot the e-props. Here they are!

  • Good question Michel. I hope her dreams were nice

  • Life would be very boring without dreams.  In fact, I think that without dreams there is nothing to live for.

  • I think dreams are very important, both dreams that happen in the night and dreams of the future, they're like another world. I hope I can fulfill my dreams as time goes on...interesting thoughts.

  • Je pense que non, mon amie.  Les reves sont necessaires, selon moi.  Que penses-tu?

  • i genuinely hope to live out more of my dreams soon

    xo

  • To live is to hope and dream.

  • Dreams give us hopes and goals for the future

  • I often imagine that I live within a pleasant dream - I designed my life that way.

  • I too believe dreams are important in our lives.  It gives us something to strive for.  We may not necessarily achieve our dreams, however we can attain a closeness to the dream.  At least that is my hope.  I have many great dreams. But the dream of my life was to find a man that could be my love of my life, and my soul mate, one who could be my best friend.  I am very happy to say, that dream I have attained.  After that, I am sure the rest will be harder to attain, as that dream should have been the hardest.  Have a great day and a better tomorrow! ! ! !  Love and hugs, Michel! ! !

  • When I was a child I used to have pipe dreams, dreams which were unattainable. Now, as an adult, I have dreams of resolution. I also dream up goals I set for myself....it is interesting!

  • dreams are very important tools in our lives...without dreams there would be no hope...there would be no future!

  • I believe that without a dream of something to go for or a goal (dream) of some type we loose our purpose and just... float

  • I love to daydream...In my dreams everything is happy...

    have a great week..

  • I can't imagine a day without dreaming - wouldn't that be like a day without oxygen?  Fascinating question.

  • "not all dreams are meant to be realized."

  • I dreamed of husband, children, a home in the country. I have arrived! Life is good ... now to go forward and accomplish the work!

  • Dreams are as important as eating and sleeping.  One must have dreams to survive in my opinion.

  • Life is nothing but a dream.. what matters is how one strives to make one reality.

  • Dream on regardless!

  • Your english I think is great And the assignment is for Information Systems, which is a computer related course studying mangement, programing and organisations.

Dreams I think are either a collection of the subconcious working about thoughts, emotions and life experiences. Sometimes I feel as if dreams are a way of telling us something. A way to the future, of possible things that could happen

  • I love day dreaming   Have you heard of Gustave Flaubert?  Sentimental Education ~ as I understand, as I have only just heard of it myself and am now seeking an English translation as my French is somewhat rusty! ~ talks about the beauty of dreams themselves far outweighing the enjoyment of making them a reality, because reality can let us down whereas dreams are whatever we make of them.  This wonderful blog just put me in mind of that

  • Dreams make life more beautiful! They keep us reaching for more....

Proverbes 29:18

  •  I not only have dreams for myself, but for my daughter too.

  • Salut, je visite pour te dire allo!

(This blog is helping me soo much with my French. Thank you.)

  • I live for my dreams.  They are what get me out of bed in the morning to go to work.  I want so many things in life and I realize I am the one who must make them happen.  I’m getting there!!

  • I hope your summer lasts until next week.  Colin and I will be in Caen on Sunday then travelling to Fontrevaud.  I will post the photographs on Xanga when I return.  Tom

  • Ah, my friend....surely to be a part of the human race is to dream.  Was it not a dream of a home life that caused us to marry and have families?  Do we not persue education that we may fullfill a dream of a certain occupation?  It was a dream of freedom that brought my country into being.  Most certainly it is the dream of brotherhood and peace that is the foundation of the United Nations.  All humans, by nature are flawed, so many times dreams are ruined or lost.  That does not stop us from continuing to dream.  One is never to old to have dreams.  Even my mother, who is 97 years old, has her little dreams.

  • Dream on my friend....

  • I think dreams are very important. Before you build, you have to dream. Without dreams, there wouldn't be an urge to do anything.

  • I think one can live without dreams, but not well and probably not long.

  • No... I can't live without a dream.

When I had to cancell balletclasses last year and felt my body getting more and more less that of a dancer I lost my dream.

My dream is to ballet. Each time I dance, or am choreographing I feel the realisation of that dream.

Lossing it, made me feel adrift. Lost.

There's enough in life to make me feel grounded, and other dreams are still there, but right now, when I'm starting training again I feel even more what I have missed.

The other dream was to be loved and to grow old when being loved.

I lost Jim on the way...or did he loose me?

Each day that he comes home I feel that I lost a dream.... and dream a new dream that is too far away.
It would be nice to have friends around to be yourself with, even when the hairs get grey, the eyesight get less, and the voice looses strength.

Dreams.........floating on the waters of your life.

  • To Imbi : I think ou are too much pessimistic ! Be hopefull and smile to the life .

  • Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you. Sweet dreams that leave your worrys behind you.

  • thanks for the lovely quote. well... i tend to dream half of the time while i'm awake. i dream of running across a vast field. i dream of writing my own book. it's this kind of things that makes life worth living. dreams. hehehe... at least to me, it is.

  • Why can't I find a man like you? Handsome, bright, artistic and interesting? I bet a great lover, a great husband and dad. Why can't I find that person for myself? Wahhhhhhhh! (CRYING!)

  • My dreams are foolish...but they make me smile. Thank you so much for your great comments on my site and my painting Art Exchange too. That also makes me smile
