                                 An old book .

I am reading an old book written 2700 years ago by a man called Isaiah . This man and others roared because human rights were not respected and justice was not given to despoiled poor humans . He claimed the dignity for all human beings . But him and others shouted with no much results .

After them Jesus went further . We have to love the others - God being Love .  People hasted to kill him but he gave us a great hope and sense of our life .

Nowadays , in France , the Republic device is : Liberty , Egality , Fraternity , for long . Those three words are engraved on the official buildings ' frontons : town hall , schools etc ....and on the coins . But what is it about that in the reality   No much and not only in France but anywhere in the world . A certain Jeremy already talked 2600 years ago about " the scribes ' lying burins " .

Whatever this ideal of justice and human rights is running from century to century . Do for the best .

  • Love, truth and grace--real freedom is found in these!

Amour, vérité et grâce-est fonde dans ceux-ci!

  • Wonderful sentiments, and I wholeheartedly agree.  Too bad not everyone agrees, though.

  • Michel, I love to hear from the prophets like Isaiah and see how they wrote things 2500 years ago that still are the issues with which we are dealing now.  Keep us thinking my friend.

                            Love & prayers,

  • Beautiful Monsieur Fauquet. You have put it correctly God is Love.

  • I think maybe it is an endless battle.

  • As they say in the USA "Give me Liberty or Give me Death"

  • The words are fine but in the world of today is sadly does not work ---for the very people we try to help seem to abuse the situation at the first opportunity

  • We have to keep believing in this truth...

Thank you for sharing this, Michel.

I know...that kingdom is coming. ( I took over the text from the French Bible I have... As Mike already said: it is a beautiful text to look forward to)

  • votre mots ici sont profondement important.  oh dear..my bad french.  this was an incredible blog..in terms of social and political commentary and significance.  ...

  • Everyone deserves justice, it's just inforcing that can remove someones liberty. I don't think it is possible for everyone to have these qualities, they can't be offered without effecting someone else.

For instance, someone who is robbed in the street will deserve justice, but by punishing the criminal, you will remove their liberty. The qualities should be a given, but they should be removed if necessary too.

  • We are studying the book of Isaiah in our Bible study at the Kingdom Hall on Monday night. This book helps us appreciate the paralell we are living in  with the people of Isaiah's day. The conditions on earth are basicly the same. Our Creator is still in control. Man can't fix this situation. Only Jehovah God, through Christ Jesus can.

  • These things are still issues because man is essentially the same now as he was then.  Until we, as people put aside our petty "human" natures and take up the nature that God would like us to choose, I don't foresee any change.  An interesting state to look at.

  • we have to keep doing the right thing, but all to often we just do the opposite...

    take good care...

  • "Not by hate is hate defeated; hate is quenched by love. This is the universal law"
    (Dhammapada 5)

Unfortunately I am unaware as to what burin could be - could i suggest bastards!

  • Fayes don't need human rights, just magic mushrooms.

  • Answer to Eightate : burins are the tools used to engrave the words in the stone . Jeremiah says they are " lying " because words engraved in stone are not necessarily in hearts .   Michel

  • Yes! We must continue to persevere!  @--}---}----

  • I agree with knightingale.

    BOO!

  • I wish more people read that book. And thought about it as you do. Thanks for sharing! And thanks for your visits!

  • Thanks!

Yes.... being hurt is one, being killed is worse...
