Michaelmas ( Michel's Day)/ The weeping angel of Amiens.
29 septembre !
Hourra!

It is the celebration of all of the Michel , Michael , Michelle , Michele . This name is the archangel Michel ‘ s one .. The angels often are mentioned in the Bible but only three of them have a name : Michael, Gabriel and Raphael
And this same day we will celebrate Raphael ‘ s Day , since our latest grandson Raphael, one of the twins is born two years ago. (August 24, 2012) Hurray ! Photo taken by Janine Fauquet on August 24 2014: Raphael enjoys looking the cat held by his parents ' friend Pamela.

Manon and Antoinr looking at the tombstone and above at the weeping angel.( l' ange pleureur ) Photo 2013
Since we are speaking of angels how not to think of the famous weeping angel of the cathedral of Amiens . This is a little angel sat on a tombstone inside the cathedral and he looks filled with sorrow . This little statue is very known in the wholeword like the smiling angel of Reims ' s cathedral.

PS...I wrote a comment to your comment on my WordPress post. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your hat poem with me!
It is a wonderful poem that made me smile and laugh!
I left you some suggestions of hat names in my comment to you there.
Wow, Mount Saint-Michel's looks amazing. It looks like it is right on the beach?
Do you know what those are? It was a fad with the children... a movie, then a cartoon.
What wonderful names Michel and Raphael... the names of the great angels... I had never thought of it.
Those names always make me think of the Ninja Turtles.
You teach me ,Lynn. I googled about Ninja Turtles whom two are named Michelangelo and Raphael . But I am not a mutant!!
I saw Mount Saint-Michel in 2007. I wish I could see it again, but without being rushed.
Happy Birthday to the twins, and happy St. Michel's Day to you. My mother's 97th birthday was the 27th and my brother was here from Madrid, so we had a good visit. I only have 1 brother and no sisters.
Happy Name Day! We used to celebrate our Name Day Saints when the children were younger - sort of an extra birthday. Now that everyone is always working, we rarely are able to be together on the exact day...
TY so very much for your well wishes and comments on my update about Ali
I loved that first photo. It is inspirational.
I have read about the Arch Angle Michael. (or something like that) I guess he was an important angel.
Ralphael is really cute.
Hope your week has started well.

Ty so very much for your comment on my post about the spider on my computer.
N'étant pas beaucoup en ligne hier suite à des visites, y ai pensé ce matin à l'aurore... Alors avec quelques heures de retard, tous mes meilleurs voeux Michel et Raphaël!
Cordialement, AM
Well, my friend...You posted this, after I left for the day....
That Monestary!! Wow! So breath taking beautiful!!
Hope your day, and Raphael's day turned out to be a beautiful day.....
Yes, these days were when we would have Michaelmas Holidays in school and college. Beautiful pictures Michel.
I have been negligent of Xanga for so long I missed your patron day, the adventures of your hat and the apple picking festival!
I am only just now catching up. The apples looked so delicious! I admire your step ladders, as a man who climbs ladders nearly every day I have gained quite an appreciation for them.
May God's love be with you and all your kinfolk!
xanga made me log in again. ?
Raphael doesn't look to sure of the cat.
ryc: I am the girl in the dark jumper right in the middle. Think that was the 4th from the left. I had not had surgery yet to correct my cross eye.
Good Morning Michel and Ty for your comment on my withering rose photo.
TY so much of your kind comments on my post about the death of our sweet Annabelle.
Ty so very much for your comments on my photos of the walking brides at the lake. This is one of my fav places to walk.
TY so very much of your congrats. on TD of this clean and sober time. The years have flown by so fast.
Ty for your comment on my post about windows 10.
The Cathedral is A STUNNING ARCHITECTURAL DELIGHT to the eyes. I love the pose the two youngsters have taken inside the chapel. Very nice Michel.
Angel statues always make me stop and reflect and stare in awe. Something about them tugs at my heart. Beautiful photos, Michel.

HUGS!!!
PS...I responded to your question on my WP site.
RYC: The camera has, in fact, lost its muse! It's difficult to stay inspired when the outdoor temperature is over 95F for weeks on end! We had a few cooler days, but it's heating up again!
The architecture of the old cathedrals was amazing and the craftsmanship of the stonemasons and the carvers is a wonderment!
Why is the angel weeping?
The weeping angel is a funerary statue. This little angel is crying probably the deceased who is in the tomb below
TY so very much for your comment only photo of the withering rose.
the cathedral is beautiful. The tombstone with the angel is amazing. Thanks for sharing them.
The photo of your Raphael is so sweet. Thanks for sharing a bit of your life.
Thanks, know more about the French.
The building is beautiful. I'm glad we have architects that design huge beautiful buildings and they were there in days gone by. Interesting that not all of the structures held up the way they were supposed to.
About your question and Halloween. We don't really celebrate it. I think our emphasis is more on fall parties and harvest time at our house. I don't know anyone who has a witchy celebration but I'm sure some do. I think things are scary enough without Halloween parties!
The candy is good. Lots of children think Halloween is candy time.
Our local historical town of Rugby, TN had a Michaelmas celebration. I thought of you.
Thank you for the lovely post. I always thought the Mount was very mysterious!!! Lots of love to all, Nancy
What beautiful buildings: both the monastery and the cathedral! I learned new things from you again... about Michaelmas, Raphael's Day, the weeping angel, and more. Your grandson has such beautiful curls!
