  • Mornin Glorie...I have never doubted for one second that you were not all hard working people...and happy people! It's so good to have you posting again. ILYM

  • Hi Michel,

I am convinced. I never told you, but when I was a teenager I heard a live radio program (all was live then, lol) They reported from France and I loved it. You live in a great and beautiful country. I hope one day my wife and I can visit your nation.

I am convinced--the French are hard workers.

    blessings

  • No idea what brought this on. Some news story? Not a doubt in my mind France is not dead.

  • Hi Michel, I love always to see you with your hat and jacket. Our men do not dress so nice anymore.
I see your family has been hard at work.
It is nice to see you back on Xanga. :-)
    Wishing you pleasant days,
    Lynn

    • I was not completely dressed, Lynn . i had taken off the tie , because It was really hot outside!!!;-) :)

  • ryc: Dee is one and the same Michel.

I didn't realize you read her blog. She's been a couple places. I miss her.

  • Like someone else noted, I wonder what made you write this. Anyway, It is great!!! Thanks. I've never been there but I can see that France is a great place and certainly not dead.
    Hugs and smiles, Char

  • I am convinced! :-) You are VERY hard workers! And very creative! :-)
Pierre does an amazing job on the hedges! :-)
And good to see you involved in the work! :-) Please don't overdo!
I like to garden, like Janine! Love those fresh veggies and fruits! :-)
HUGS!!! and ♥ and prayers!!! :-)

  • that is a job isn't it?

I'm thinking it's pretty when it's all done.

    Glad ya'all had help.

  • I am convinced that "france" puts much loving work into it's lovely gardens! Even the "youngest" lol. <3 Hello Michel! I am still here as you see. :)

  • thanks for all the nice comments.

I knew you were taking breaks from us

  • Since I don't do much traveling anymore, I especially love learning about other places from my friends! I love hearing you share and seeing your pictures, Michel! I see you and Janine and your family are hard workers as you work on your property!
Ryc: Thank you Michel, for your kind wishes. We are improving slowly. This bronchitis just is very virulent and seems to hang on, but
I do believe that there is some improvement. :-) Love, Carolyn ♥

  • I miss the 'Recommend' button!!

  • How wonderful it is! Food and toil and God's good air. And the love in the family!
    Love to all {v}

  • Bravo! Like father, like son and like mother, like son! What a blessed group!

  • As long as it has men like you and children like yours, France will live.

  • Vive la France! You are all working very hard. I'm glad to see someone other than you up on the ladder this year. Very wise.

    • My wife, children and friends tell me to not climb the ladders anymore but are not there small ladders ? :-) :)

  • How wonderful to see you beautiful garden and hedges.
It is good that your entire family helps you keep things up.
    You are blessed.

  • Wow, such a tall hedge and it's expertly trimmed! I'm sure it provides a lot of privacy. I wish we could grow our back hedges tall enough to keep prying eyes at the childrens daycare away, but none of us feel like trying to maintain such large hedges.

It would be fun to try to grow carrots one year!

  • good to hear from you again ~ that is a VERY tall hedge! I'm slow getting my blogging done too ~ too busy!

  • Of course, France is not dead! Hard working people allows it to survive.....

That youngest fellow though, looks so much like you, lol!!

I love the pictures, they show a family that is bound by hard work, and much love.....

  • Ah! I have found you on Xanga and what a pleasure to see the hard working French! I lost touch with Xanga whilst I was ill and when I eventually got around to looking for my sites they had been deleted as a consequence of Xangas upgrade. Not sure how to get back now, but the important thing is I have found you. I always liked your down to earth blogs and it was nice to keep int touch.

    Cheers my friend,

    Tim

  • TY so very much for your comment on my photo of the antique fire car and yes it was pulled by horses.

  • Taming the gardens is very hard work! I'm glad your son has stepped in to prevent you from foolishness - up on a ladder! Hope you and Janine are enjoying the garden's bounty!

  • Ty so very much of your comments on my rhodies blooming out back photos and so true, we never tire of the seeing the world flower.

  • If France was dead would the Eiffel Tower be her tombstone? :-) Looks like hard work and beautiful places. I hope I can stay active like you are till I'm 100. I guess I'll have to wait and see, won't I? Blessings to you and a lovely week-end too.

  • I see only French, twice. For some reason, there is no English in this post.

Your garden looks very ambitious. You work a lot harder than I do. The hedge is spectacular!

  • No English translation is necessary when Janine's photos speak so eloquently. It's actually fun to try to figure out the captions. I have just enough French to come up with some hilarious captions. For instance I translated "cour" as heart (couer?)
Did Janine make that split apron herself? What an ingenious adaptation for the garden!

  • I love to see your posts Michael. That hedge looks very healthy and lush. It is an lot of work to keep your property well maintained. I can see you take pride in it but please be sure to be very careful when on a ladder. I would not like it if were injured

  • Wow, now THAT'S a hedge! They take a lot of work to make them look so even and full. I have some little shrubs that I try to make into a hedge, but I don't clip them often enough so they look like they need to see a barber!
My Xanga subscription ran out, so I won't be posting there anymore. I miss you and all the old Xangans. I hope that you will come over to WordPress someday!

  • RYC: Thank you for your concern, Michel. It is tenacious… but the meds, and extra rest are gradually doing their work.
    LOVE,
    Carolyn

I love how classy you look always ... even when doing your work. Nice hat and sports suit, & Janine with her dress. I dress the same as your son when I'm working: blue jeans and t-shirt! :-)

    • Yes Carolyn some people ask me how I can resist under the hot sun in wearing those clothes . They forget woolen clothes are insulating and avoid the brusque change of temperature of the body! :-) :)

  • I love this post and even the comments! One comment used one of our ways if explaining those who live simply as "down to earth" Apropos!
What year did you plant the hedges, or were they there when you bought your home? They must be quite old. My father and mother had the same hedge at their home.
    A wonderful post, Michel!

    • The hedges that Pierre was trimming did exist before we arrive in 1986. But other hedges in the backyard have been planted by us .

  • It is such a delight to see all the work at the house to create a thing of beauty and a joy forever! Remember to kiss the cook! Pierre needs to come to America and work on my yard as well! I will feed him American food and serve him French wine!

  • TY so very much of your comment on the pretty flowers blooming n the garden out back Michel.

  • I see garden season has started for us all. All my veggies have been planted. Only have 16 more little holes to dig for flowers. Then it is time to declare war on the horrible quack-grass that invades everything. So hard to get rid of. But alas, exercise is good for the soul. Now it is up to Mother Nature to do her job. John and I are doing fine. Mr. Arthritis seems to be a guest at our house. Weather is good, though a little warm for May. It looks like we're back into another drought situation.

Loved the photos of Janine and the twins, so sweet. I see you have a very large hedge to trim, nice that son can do it for you. Hope all is well in your household. Enjoy the spring with your special lady. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Ty so very much for your nice comment on hubby napping in the rocking chair.

  • TY so very much of your comment on my post about eddie the duck.

  • Such industry! France is truly alive and thriving thanks to her hard workers.
