A splendid 80th birthday! Again!
Un splendide 80ème anniversaire! Encore !A splendid 80th birthday ! Again!
English version below the pictures
The house by the old church ( romane nave from the XIIth century)You remember we celebrated my 80th birthday with the children and grandchildren on the last March 17th at home ( you recall the photo in the staircase). Last Saturday, April 20, my wife Janine told me we had to visit the house that our youngest son builds in a village located to 45 km from Amiens. Afterwards we should get lunch at his home. While I was driving in this village my wife suddenly asked me to not take the usual road and to go towards the church and the unknown house aside. I was for the least surprised.
Arrivals by waves and, at the end, the duchess Carole bearing a mysterious box.
Janine welcoming (here, a daughter-in-law and a niece )No one was in the house near the church but there were three large tables prepared with table clothes, napkins artistically folded, plates, sets of glasses etc !!. I understood it was a " plot " . And indeed at this same time waves of children, grand children, cousins, second cousins and old friends were arriving successively. What a big surprise! My wife had organised in the secret a new celebration of my birthday with this time the enlarged family . Was not this caring and loving. All of the people was informed and invited except me, the innocent lamb! A daughter who was arrived the eve to visit us was there in fact to help Janine and also our grandchildren Manon and Antoine who stayed with us and was part of this conspiracy... with delight..
Joyous and excellent meal
The choir of Fauquet children . Le choeur des enfants Fauquet
Left to right :Carole, Thierry , Jean-Baptiste,Véronique , Isabelle and playing ( jouant ) guitar, Pierre
The needed photo of the familial group. L 'indispensable photo de famille
We were around 40 people around the tables . Useless to say the meal was especially excellent and the wines very aged ( like me) I mean very good . This meal took all the afternoon but between the dishes, collective games were organized by daughters , concerts of guitas played by two sons , and the choir of the six Fauquet children sang a funny song they made together with their memories related to me! One of them makes also a song about my hat!!!At the end, the eldest child ( the duchess ) gave me a box who contained my collective birthday gift , then I was fascinated by the firework of the candles at the side of the cakes and at last Janine stuck a kiss. Much emotion in my poor soul.
Here is why I had no time to be much on xanga but you see it was for a cause of happiness. I thank especially Janine, my wife and all of those who have been able to participate to this joyous gathering

What a fantastic surprise, and an amazing family! It looks like a beautiful place for a home, too. The sparklers on the cakes are funny. RYC: No, I haven’t posted anything for a long time except what you see. Hopefully I will have more opportunity soon. Maybe then some will be protected, but if so you would surely be on the list!

MICHEL----I am deeply moved by this wonderful tribute from your family, you are so loved by them all, the reason is so obvious, because you are a wonderful , generous, caring husband, father, grandfather. When good seeds are sown, you can only reap a good harvest! Congratulations once again............!!RITA
Ah Michel...80! And what a party it was. So much happiness, so much joy and wonder. I send my love and a belated birthday wish for your health and many blessings in the years to come. Dear friend...you are very special to me and I wish you at least 20 more years
Loved the picture of you and your wife =) RYC: Thanks for commenting. Surgery went much better than we thought, although still tender at times. Prom is a special dance held by high schools for the last two years of high school. My oldest graduates from high school this month, then will be going to a community college and majoring in culinary arts, then hopefully will have a chance to study for a bit in France since her primary focus will be French cooking. My daughter volunteers her time with the French exchange students and one of them was able to attend Prom. She said on facebook that it was an "awesome" time and had a lot of fun! Kim has made many friends in France and I fear for Paris when she can come over! =D
Answer to suzyQ_darnit ; Now you see why I have not been much on Xanga lately ,.Too much busy!
Oh Michel...how wonderful!!!!!and how Blessed!...on the occasion of my grandmother's 90th birthday...she looked around at her "flock" and said ... "All of this from me!"I will never forget her words and they are called to memory as i look at your beautiful family picture! Alll from YOU!!! God bless you and your entire family, that you have many many more wonderful happy occasions like this... be well and be happy!!Bonne Anniversaire!Jaz
Ty so very much for your comments on my post about Felix the cat.
Answer to underused : It is true that I 'was both admiring and fascinated by the sparklers that I had already seen very often before but this time they were functioning for me
What a wonderful surprise! Loved your telling us about it too. I love surprises! Looks like you have a wonderful family. God bless all of you and give you many happy years yet.
Just a short note to your comment on my site: my star magnolia is a bush, not a tree. Mine is about six feet high and four feet wide at the top. So it doesn't take much room. I have had it for ten years.
Oh, that is so wonderful that you had a such a good time at a second celebration of your 80th birthday! I agree with SisterMae that you look as though you are only 60 years old. Perhaps your physical and mental activity keep you young. RYC: I did not have much doubt that biopsy report would be benign. Something else was suspected as my diet should have provided me with iron. It hasn't changed that much from the years when my blood reports were within normal limits. Now I am taking iron supplement, but I have follow up visit in June with gastroenterologist. The endoscopy didn't reveal a reason for anemia. Thank you again for checking on me and for prayers. ~~Blessings 'n Cheers
Happy, happy BIRTHDAY!!
Magnificent indeed Michel, my dear friend. How blessed you and your family are! Beautiful pictures and beautiful smiles.
RYC - Wow they really flew something like those glider planes? Probably didn't work out too well? Interesting! So far the month of May has been beautiful for us. Some have had a lot of snow in May! Amazing.
SURPRISE! Everybody shouted. I would have liked to see your expression.Happy surprises are great specially if surrounded by a big crowd and if this crowd happen to be your family. You must feel like a old fashion King. There will be more birthdays celebrations?happy Birthday once again .... A Chent'annos (to hundred years- Sardinian birthday wish).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e9RlX4oxCcBatCarlo
Merveilleux anniversaire! Et si bien narré! Félicitations encore :sunny:Amitiés à toute la famille :heartbeat:
Happy, Happy Birthday! Congratulations on 80 years! You look very youthful still, Michel. So, does your wife. God bless you both with many more happy years together.
Answer to REDPOPPY1 above : Rita I collapse under the amount of compliments you give me. I'm not sure that I deserve so many but I confess that I have been very touched by the affection testimony given by all.
Ty so very much for your comments on my post about the farting dog<:)
Oh Michel, What a wonderful testimony of the love of your family for you! I am so glad that you had such a tremendous time! You have such a beautiful family! So you have 3 sons & 3 daughters? How many grandchildren? That was quite a large number in your family. Again, may God continue to bless you greatly in the years to come, along with your lovely wife and precious offspring.
Happy Birthday,Michel! Delightful to read of your family and the love you share! I am so happy for you all Blessings Abound. Tam.H
Thanks Michel. It was good to hear from you, as always. You and Janine are still embracing life to it's fullest, I see. Love to you all.
RYC: the lilac is rather early; and the blooms are still scented but starting to brown. My tulips used to bloom in May but they are earlier as well. Have yet to plant anything in the garden, but I would love to do onions and potatoes! Hope it warms up for you soon!
Happy 80th birthday again, Michel! It's wonderful how your extended family came together to celebrate you. Would have loved to hear your children singing the song they composed specially for you, and especially the one about the hat!
You are indeed blessed, and may you share many more good years with your loved ones.
A happy plot to be the subject of. Happy birthday, how much time do you have to plot your revenge on your wife's birthday?
ah this is a wonderful blog - Janine and your family has done well to keep this a secret from you. No way do you look 80, sir - indeed you look at least 10-15 years younger. x
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
RYC: Thanks for the link! I will forever associate that melody with cartoons, particularly Bugs Bunny cartoons. Sadly my greatest exposure to classical music when I was growing up came almost exclusively from cartoons!
Many blessings to you and your amazing family! You are 80 years young and so much life yet to live - you must be doing something right, my friend. And surround by so much love and affection - the true meaning of family.
What was the gift? I am curious. Thank you for sharing your family. I am happy your family is so close and shares so much love.
What a beautiful family!
Can there be a more fitting tribute to your life? I think not. Life long and prosper, my friend.
