On l ' appelait Max .
His name was Max .
I have known him in last December in his masters ' home , Canadian friends . He was a dog , almost 9 years old Golden Retriever and he had a companion Brady , one year younger . Earlier every morning whatever the weather they went for a walk with their masters in the area around the house . Max and Brady were the " boys " in the family . At night they were on guard at the door of parents ' and daughters ' bedrooms at the first floor . But they as soon as recognized the friend I was .
Since January Max was become sick : visits to the vet , antibiotics , nothing was doing . Big fever , not eating , not walking and visibly a lot of sufferings . Never he complained . But he was near of his end . He is dead yesterday .
He was only a dog. But the ones that already has lost their dog can understand the pain of his mistress . Good bye Max . You have well filled your dog life making your masters happy in giving them your love and faithful .

oh...this is very sad
dogs are the most unselfish beings - always doing things for their masters
if you treat them well, they treat you 100x better
so sorry to hear of your friends' loss, i know in a few years i will go through this with my dog as well - i already prepare myself now...
their lives are much too short
Triste, comme "Coco".
Bon voyage, Max. Rest in peace. I'm sorry about this, Michel.
Amitie,
Neil
J'ai un vieux chien qui est malade.
Il est si dur pour perdre nos animaux. Ils sont si aimer et loyal. Max a aimé sa famille. Vous remercier pour dire de lui.
I have an old dog who is sick.
It is so hard to lose our animal friends. They are so loving and loyal. Max loved his family. Thank you for telling of him.
That is very sad, Michel. We lost our Golden Retriever of 15 1/2 years before we got Levi. His name was Duner and he was one of the family. I know how much it hurts to lose a dog-friend.
that was very touching. goodbye, Max. I have never had a dog, but my cat died last September after I'd had him for almost 7 years. I know Max's family will miss him, but he is out of pain now ~
Michel, I am glad I got acquainted with Max while there this winter. It appears I met him just before he became so ill. He was a sweet natured animal and I am so sad he is gone. I know it is difficult to lose a good dog or any pet and the loss is felt for some time.
Thank you for sharing this. Lynn will get to read your blog and comments and maybe there will be some comfort there.
Your friend,
Deb
Thank you for sharing this story! I remember my little friend who watched over my child like a little mother. My son also grew to love her not knowing that she nolonger was a puppy! As he called her, puppy, because she was so small. When she finally died of old age, my son ,said;but ,mommy she was just a puppy! My little dog was 16 yrs old.Oh what creatures! Just with a look and a wag of the tail tells all!@-}-}---
There is no such thing as "only a dog". They are friends, and family, and very loyal. Actually, I believe that dogs are more loyal than people. We could learn from them.
agree totally with Mystical 2... Hey, I like your blog, I like reading french...
Bon courage!
Hi Michel.
Your words have expressed a difficult emotion. I feel for those involved.
As far as the mouse song, at the upper right of the box is a - , square, and X. Clicking the "-" will minimize the box but the music will continue. I apologize if you already knew this!
I hope your week's end is good!

Thank you, dear Michel for putting into words what I have difficulty doing at this time. Max will be missed. He was a very special "boy". Brady is feeling the loss of his brother. I can use the term "brother" in the true sense as they were, in fact, half-brothers sharing the same father, another gentle giant named Hunter. Hunter died at age 10 of cancer so it very likely that Max was suffering in silence with a tumour that did not appear on the x-rays. Max is at peace now. We know we had no other option. As my brother Mike so aptly stated : Max is probably with his Shadow enjoying dogtalk, etc.
Thank you again, Michel for your kind words and thoughts.
Thank you also for the opportunity to read the wonderful comments of others. They are very supportive.
Lynn (from Max's family)
How very sad. He had a good live and a lot of love.
Its sad to lose a pet and your words where very kind
and thoughtfull
I'm sure he'll become friends with Boris, a long haired bear of a dog. I'll write about him..... but not today..
I ferel sooo rotten I'm allergic for dogs... I would love such a friend and companion!
I still miss my Benny dog, and he died in the fall of 1957.
'only a dog' is the biggest lie we try and tell ourselves.
It is our responsibility to love these dear creatures and remember them. It would just be cruelty not to considering how they always appreciate us...
Only dogs are beings that you love so much that you are afraid of bringing them into your lives in the first place. Because when they leave, there is so much pain.
we all share your pain at losing a friend its a hard cross to bear
That is the only trouble with pets, one gets so attached that when they die it is like a loss in the family. Thanks for all your visits. Cheers Portia

I get it....think PINK.
Max sounds like he was a great friend.
I had a dog once. He gave me 14 years of his nice companion... When he was gone, there was so much pain.. Don´t think I will ever want that for me again...
Have a nice day! Let me thank you for being so present at my site and the nice comments you leave there! Thank you so much!
I have an old dog, Helen, who has guarded me and been my friend for more than eleven years. She is sweet and faithful and understands my moods. She is beginning to have health problems and I worry about her.
I will cry a river when she dies. Adios, Max.
Michel, merci pour tous vos "comments" - vous m'inspire toujours par les observations (?!) extraordinaire sur les sujets qui APPARAITRE tres simple. Merci Beaucoup BEAUCOUP!
It's good that he was loved. Five years ago I lost my buddy, Ted, after almost 14 years together. I still get weepy over him at times but, the unconditional love he gave me still comforts. Repos Dans La Paix, Max. (That's supposed to say, Rest In Peace, Max...I hope it does...)
Dogs are absolutely irreplaceable members of the family.. I was devastated when my Golden Retriever died aged 14, she was such a part of us all. I'm so sorry to hear of Max's passing, even a year later
