July 16 2013 . Visit with Manon and Antoine of the cathedral of Amiens . Grandiose monument of faith (XIII century).Our granchildren Manon and Antoine are here from some days .

July 17, My cousin René came with his wife Chantal to finish the shed that has been named grocery . Do not ask why . For fun!

Janine took the photo . They picked 9 kg of fruits ( to make liquor for the year ). During this time I went further to my birthplace to repair the basis of my parents' tombstone . I came back at night. July 23
Cueillette de cassis dans les buissons dans le jardin de la Duchessedans a village du département du Pas de Calais. De gauche à doite Carole ' alias la Duchesse , notre fille aînée), Manon et Antoine . Janine prit la photo. Ils cueilllirent 9 kg de fruits pour faire de la liqueur de cassis pour l' année . Durant ce temps j' allais plus loins dans ma ville natale pour réparer la base du monument funéraire de mes parents . 23 Juillet

 As you see we cannot grasp time. It flows between our fingers like the water of the river ;  and the photos above are only a part of what Janine did in a week ( and a little, me) .  Not boring!.

  Comme vous voyez nous ne pouvons pas retenir le temps ; Il coule entre nos doigts come l' eau de la rivière . Et les photos ci-dessus sont seulement une partie de ce que Janine fit en une semaine ( et moi aussi, un tout  petit peu)  On ne peut pas s'ennuyer.

 Pas besoin de mots pour dire l’ émotion , quand au crépuscule ,vous rencontrez  ce lys .dans le jardin
 Tard le soir quand le soleil vient de se coucher, dans le pénombre,  vous êtes fasciné par cette blanche beauté , ces formes harmonieuses et ces odeurs suaves .
Le lys est une fleur royale qui n’a aucun égal sauf la femme à qui on l’offre.

 C’ est ce que m’ a inspiré, récemment, cette petite promenade au jardin qui donne le frisson et des sentiments ineffables.

   No need for words to express  the emotion, when at dusk, you meet the lily in the garden..

  In the late  evening when the sun has just set, in the twilight , you are fascinated by this white beauty, harmonious shapes and the divine scents..

The lily is a royal flower that has no equal except the woman to whom it is offered.

 This has been recently  inspired by a small walk in the garden which makes you shiver and puts in you ineffable feelings.

 Plaisirs de l' été
Summer pleasures

English version  below the pictures or after the French text.

 En lisant ce qui a  été fait Vendredi , Samedi et Dimanche dernier( après-midi ) vous comprendrez pourquoi cette entrée est assez courte . En effet en ce début de semaine cela continue à un train d'enfer : 250 m de haie à tailler , 400 mètres-carré de pelouse à tondre soud s une soleil de plonb. Quelques fois je me dis que je serais mieux dans un petit appartement dans uun gratte-ciel culminant au dessus des nuages .Voici quelques photos :

  At reading below what has been done , last Friday, Saturday and in the afternoon of Sunday you will understand why this entry is rather short . Indeed in ther beginning of this week this work continues like hell : 250 meters of hedges (at least) , 400 square meters of lawn to mow under a burning sun . Sometimes I tell myself I would be better in a small flat in a skyscaper above the clouds.

Les photos ci-dessous sont une démonstration de taille de haie en grimpant sur un grand escabeau historique(1970) désarticulé mais de ce fait restant bien en équilibre sur un sol inégal avec creux et bosses . Il suffit de trouver une bonne position pour ajuster .Photo 1: la grimpe commence 2) l' ajustement final 3) la taille commence .

The three photos above are a demonstration of trimming the high hedge in using a big historic stepladder  from 1970 , disarticulated , but having by this way a good adaptation to a land with dips and swells
. You have only to adjust the position of your body  to keep the balance...and go, my comrade!

Et Samedi soir nous avons mangé dehors pour la première fois depuis deux ans : un barbecue préparé par Janine et Manon . Elles se sont bien débrouillées et ont su affronter la fumée . Agréable ce petit souper dehors . mais savez - vous quoi ? Après la sueur de l'effort on endure un pull et une veste ! ( pas de cravate cependant )

And Saturday night we ate out for the first time in two years: a barbecue prepared by Janine and Manon. They managed well and were able to deal with the smoke. This pleasant little supper outside. but you know what? After the sweat of effort a sweater and a jacket were needed ( without tie, however! )

I stop here to  go to the hedges!!

 I keep you informed I just donate today 48 dollars to relaunching xanga  and this is to add to the 25 dollars paid last April 2013 for Premium ( so 73 dollars in three months)  . I was not sure of what to do but I want to keep my xangafriends

                                                                Une aide décisive
                                   a decisive help

  A la mi-Juillet la haie était vraiment trop poussée et c'étair dur à couper . Pour des raisons diverses,    j' avais trop attendu. Mardi dernier ma fille Carole ( la duchesse ) et son Chevalier Thierry nous téléphonaient pour nous proposer leur aide . Je dis "nous" parce que Janine travaillait autant que moi à ramasser tiges et feuilles coupées et à les transporter sur un tas avec le brouette.. Et le mercredi ils vinrent et le soir tout était fini : haies et pelouses . Un grand merci à eux deus et aussi à Manon qui a aidé de son mieux .

 At the mid-July the hedges had really grown too much and it was hard to trim . For various reasons I had waited too long to do the job. Last Tuesday I got a call from my oldest daughter Carole ( the duchess) and her knight  Thierry . They proposed to help us . I say "us" because Janine worked as much as me to pick the stems and leaves cut and carry them with a wheelbarrow to a pile . And on Wednesday they came and at night all was done : hedges and lawns. A big thanks to them and also to Manon who helped too.

Au total  le travail demanda six jours ( excepté le Dimanche matin) et le septème jours on se reposa
At the total the work spread on 6 days( except Sunday morning) and the seventh day we took a rest.

Vendredi 28 Juin 2013 : Janine est allée voir notre petite-fille Manon ( à droite, avec une fleur juste au dessus de l'oeil) ) danser la zumba. Manon aura 13 ans ce mois de juillet 
Friday June 28 2013. Janine went to a show of dance where Manon , our almost 13 year old  grand daughter, was dancing Zumba ( on the right of the picture with a flower above the eye) .

Samedi 29 Juin,  notre fille aînée Carole arrêta son impressionnant van attelé à sa voiture, juste devant notre maison .  Son chevalier servant et elle prirent  prirent leur repas chez nous . Photo Michel Fauquet
 Saturday June 29 , there was an impressing horse box pulled by a powerful  car stopped in front of our house . It was our oldest daughter Carole( the duchess) and her Knight . They took the meal at our home . .

Après le repas le chevalier Thierry promena les chien dans notre cour boisée . les deux Golden Retrieves étaient heureux ( Ils s' appelllent Gus at Dafy).

Dimanche 30 Juin nous étions invités à la fête de l' école de notre petit- fils Antoine ( 11 ans ).
On le voit danser avec sa classe .Il est contre le pilier derrière une fille blonde. Il danse avec application. 
 Sunday June 30 we were invited to the feast of our grand-son Antine ' s school . He is 11 .  He is dancing with his class and we see him against the pillar, behind a blonde girl. He is dancing seriously.

Lundi premier Juillet : c ' est le temps des cerises , en retard cette année . mais Lundi et mardi
Nous avons retriouvé ce beau temps ensoleillé et cette donce brise qui vous caress les joues . Nous aurons à y retourner car elles étaient juste mures . Au premier plan les campanules venant d 'une tante décédée de Janine achèvent de fleurir .

 Monday July first , it is cherries'time , a bit late this year but Monday and Tuesday  we found again
this sunny weather and this sweet breeze that caress our cheeks . We will have to go back because they were just rippened  . At the foreground  campanulas  coming from a late Janine ' s aunt achieve their
blooming .

Autre variétésde cerises venant d'un autre cerisier que celui photographié ci-dessus . Elles iront au congélateur et serviront à faire les délicieux clafoutis de Janine
 Another kind of cherries coming from another cherry tree than the one pictured above . They will go to the freezer and will be used by Janine to make her delicious clafoutis . Photo M Fauquezt July first

 Et quoi à propos de2 et 3 Juillet? : travaux divers dans le potager avec Janine  entre deux petites averses et aussi  je suis quelque peu inquiet à propos de Xanga . La flamme de Xanga va-t-elle réellement s'éteindre ? Je ne suis pas tranquille . J ' espère que Xaanga restera .

And what about 2nd  and 3rd of July ?: various works in the veggie garden with Janine between two small showers,....and also somewhat worried about Xanga . Is the Xanga's flame be going to disappear really ? I am not quiet . I hope Xanga remains .

 and to end this entry I wish to my american friends a happy Independence Day on this July 4 .
