Worker in the night/ Privileged places to find God.
Worker in the night
English version below the pictures
See this brave worker who plows the soil of his garden at dusk.
He has no horse nor plow and the hard work is done by hand with a fork.
The soil is clayey and compact and is happy to feel lighter. It is 5:10 p, m. on this November 20.
The shadow extends over the land and trees and shelters become almost ghostly silhouettes ,impressing.
A quarter of hour later he continues, almost in the dark.
He wants to increase the surface worked to reach the veil aside ( that covers leeks ) .
In his effort he inhales the mist in full lungs;Mais enfin il reprend son souffle.
But at last he takes his breath .
He feels the silent calme of the nature around and is pleased with it.
Some birds ' cries ! The sound of a car far on the road.
He starts to feel the sweat becoming cold on his back .It is time to go back home and to wear the coat hung at a pole of the nearby fence .
Yes, worker you have well earned the bread and the soup that you will eat this night .

LIEUX PRIVILEGIES POUR TROUVER DIEU.
PRIVILEGED PLACES TO FIND GOD.English version below the pictures
Photo J et AM Müller November 2012In her latest comment about working in the the garden at dusk, @mlbncsga wrote a quote by George Bernard Shaw :” The best place to find God is in a garden”. I agree with that. How many times did I feel this presence when, alone in the garden in the cold, I heard the song of the trees and the robin coming near me while I was working the ground. I was not alone. In working the ground I was part of God .
And, coincidence, I received some days ago a photo from a Swiss Friend , showing a lake in the mist. This photo inspired me and I got the same feeling as in the garden. How mystical this photo is! This mist looks like a veil in which the nearby trees lost their shape . I imagined a ship coming from the edge of the lake and entering this mysterious veil . It disappears from our eyes but in fact it always is there beyond the veil. For us it has disappeared in the emptiness. But in fact, no . Our faith has to supply our failing senses.
Photo J and AM Müller NOV 2012Then this same friend sent to me another picture of their walk in a wood at the autumn. This photo also inspired me : this path leads us in a renascent future , those trees look dying but in fact they are preparing their renewal at spring . Yes “the nature is there that talks to us, loves us” and tell us God.
Many other places tells us about God. And I let you the opportunity to say those.

Wow you worked real hard and I loved the story you made to go along with it. You even included the coat hanging on the pole--you write great stories my friend ! I enjoyed it. Hope the soup and bread warmed you .
Food tastes so much better after a hard day's work, and you certainly had a hard day's work. There are a lot of men half your age who would not be willing to till that much ground with just a shovel and a strong back. You certainly did earn your dinner.
Thank you for your kind comments on my latest post. It is heartwarming to know that my pictures can evoke memories of your life. I must say I always look forward to your comments, knowing that you are a man farther down the same road I am traveling. I hope you have a wonderful holiday seaason, and I hope your garden is bountiful as a reward for all your hard work.
Is it still that warm in France? Everything is dead here. =( Had a dream that it snowed last night, hoping it holds off for atleast a week. Hate driving in the city with ice and snow. RYC: Botox paralyzes the muscles for 2-3 months. They use it alot in children with diseases and brain injured people due to the muscles stay contracted. Mine is very minor and just effects speaking and sometimes memory due to my head hit the driver side door and my brain sheered inside my skull. The muscle spasms are from the nerve injuries in my neck since it's bone on bone grinding on the nerves, henceforth why they burn them, to make them numb. Also, the fibromyalgia has turned into myofacial syndrome because the knots develop in the muscles and we have tried everything, including electricity. This is where I'm in trouble in finding a job because I need to be able to train for an 8 hour day in front of a computer, but it's tricky finding the meds to help. The ones that help, make me a zombie and I sleep all the time. Plus, they worry about me not breathing. The good news is, if I stay home, I use less Percocet (pain pills) so I might be able to switch to a different muscle relaxer, depending on cost. The last one they wanted to put me on was $384 a month! But as I was saying to someone last night... I'm a fighter and I don't like to take no for an answer. =)
As a worker of soil myself, I relate and have experienced the magic in gardens. Nature surrounds us and feeds us and heals us. Warm thoughts to you as a new day shows your reward.
Talk about amazing!! What you are doing takes more physical energy than me baking a few pies and I don't do it all at once.
You look so happy tilling the soil and from the pictures and the description, I can almost smell the wonderful fragrance of freshly tilled dirt. It's a perfume like no other.. It's a bed of nourishment waiting to feed the vegetables. You are doing your part as God has ordained mankind to be a caretaker of the earth.
Working in the garden is why you stay young and healthy...in partnership with the creator.
RYC: Everyone liked the pies very much so feel good about that.! We had a nice Thanksgiving. It wasn't at our home. We were invited to a friend's home. Since our son and daughter live far from us...we enjoyed dinner with church friends(we also consider them "family")
Love,
votre amie,
Francoise
The days are so short now that things outdoors have to be done early. (like walking the dog)
A very poetic description! That time is almost a magical time, isn't it?
My garden should probably be worked over one more time, but it is probably already too late. I'm sure we will have snow soon, and I am not as dedicated a gardener as you!
I am not enjoying the early darkness, but I tell myself the worst of it will be over in just a few weeks, and we can look forward to increasingly longer days; my favorite time!
Honest sweat is rewarded with progress and a hearty meal!
Hi Michel,
You reminded me of an Hispanic worker who dug trenches with a shovel. His employer kept him on payroll year round because he was so good at it. I watched him and he was like an artist. Most considered him a common laborer, but he was not common at all.
frank
Food always tastes better after a good day or evening of honest work.
Oh that poor worker.
There is a mystical connection between man and the soil. He draws strength from it.
How lovely! We have that kind of soinl in our country house too, it gets really hard to work with it during this months even when here we don't really have low tmeperatures but the rain before and now some lower temps make the soil very compact...you're very brave
You are such a hard worker, Michel! But...it's good for the mind and soul, as you know. :heartbeat:
I agree with @ Inciteful " There is a mystical connection between man and the soil. He draws strength from it." . I could have say that.
That looks like hard work. May the fruits of your labor be sweet and healthy!
God bless your day in a good way.
..... and also with @Jaynebug "I relate and have experienced the magic in gardens. Nature surrounds us and feeds us and heals us."
Your poetry has inspired me to make time to plant my winter garden. I've been busy with other work, remodeling the patio, and installing an automatic irrigation system for the new landscaping. Tell Janine how grateful we are to her for the pictures.
You certainly earned your daily bread!
Stephanie
:goodjob:
beautiful and i also work in the garden at dusk it is a very peaceful time of the day. last night it was raking leaves and my 96yr aunty was out working in the rose garden :goodjob:
I could almost feel the air and smell the earth.
:goodjob:
Wonderful words to describe that faithful worker who works the ground so lovingly, to prepare for next years harvest.
TY so much for your kind words concerning TD and his health and recent hospitalization.
Beautiful graden as always. I need more land is what this shows me.
Such a wonderful post Michel. What an amazing thing to do with your work, tending to mother earth. So much harmony here.
ryc: A tutorial is the same as one would use the word lesson. A teaching page.
"God needed a man to till the soil" and you do that without tools except for the spade. :goodjob:
Stephanie
Michel, guess I'm not doing something right on the 'double click' thing to reply. Have tried a number of things, my computer has a mind of its own
So will post any replies directly on your site. Hope you didn't over-do in the dusk working your garden. I assume Janine had a huge pot of tea waiting for you by the nice warm fire ? Our Sunday morning was full of blue sky and a heavy frost on the ground. Only the second frost of the season. Yes, we need much colder weather now. Even for once, snow (well a little) would be nice. You and Janine have a wonderful week............love Marilyn <3
:heartbeat: :heartbeat: Such an amazing worker that he is, he has the time to come compliment my little girls!! Thank you dear friend!! Blessings on your garden which you have worked so well! :heartbeat: :heartbeat:
A story well told in picture and prose. Yes, this man certainly did earn his supper, and I'll wager he enjoyed it!
RYC: Thank you. I'm happy that you enjoyed my zombie story.
Hello. I enjoy your posts and pics so very much. I do not get on xanga much and have been away for any length of time for a long while. I was looking up Judi who was listed as jassmine and she has not posted in over a year. I enjoyed her posts so much and know that she got very ill. Do you know what happened to her. I read her last post and saw where she was still very sick, but nothing followed. Thank you for your help.
Magnifique cher Michel!
Mornin Glorie ~ I hope after all that digging you also had a nice glass of vino to go with the bread and soup  and maybe a nice desert also :lookaround: There is a quote by George Bernard Shaw that says "The best place to find God is in a garden". I believe that is very true! :sunny: ilym :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat:
Ty so very much for your kind and supportive comments for me and TD. They are very much appreciated.
Ty you so very much for your comment on my post about TD coming home.
Working on the hard clay soil is very hard work. I'm sure you slept well that night!!
Christy
Very nice Garden Michel! You are very good health, I think? You must be.
I am suffering from a cold again. It attacked me after, Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving was nice, and we were thankful, for what we have. Must work
again. Still going through boxes, and deciding what to give away and what to keep.
Riding_Hood
Ty so very much Michel for your comment on my post about me and TD getting home from him being in the hospital
Thanks for the rec on my post about daily life. My life seems too uninteresting to write about, but when I read your blog, I realize that every active life has something interesting to somebody. It's also interesting to see one's life through the observations of another. You marvel at my energy and I am amazed at yours. I think we have a mutual admiration society here.
You are truly a tireless worker, Michel, but your efforts will be well worth it in the end. I am sure your family must appreciate what you provide for them. I hope you were able to sleep well after all that hard work!
Cheers and best wishes!!
Ty for your comment on my friend banana post and it was a yummy treat. I used a sugar substitute.
I so enjoyed this post, I could almost smell the earth all the way here in Oklahoma~
Oh yes these beautiful places show the beauty and grace of God. Wonderful photos Michel.
I have only one word to describe this....Beautiful!! :sunny:
Amen Mornin Glorie :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat: ilym
Beautiful photos and inspiring words, once again ~
What a wonderful skill you have with your garden. Hope you now have your feet up and enjoying the fruits of our labour
Clay is by far the best soil to grow things in; just much more work to get things started.
Good for the body and soul
This is a lovely post! I'm a huge nature person, and there is nothing like it for soothing the soul. I'm glad you enjoyed your gardening!
It is easy to find God in nature - I struggle to find God in my fellow man. I have not given up looking but it is difficult when there is so much anger and violence in so many hearts.
I agree about finding God in the garden, so long as you left the apple tree alone....and watch out for snakes: they also like also gardens.
I like the laborer who works hard looking down at the soil and the hard soil fights back, but them he looks up and he see the stars in the sky. it is dark but there is some light up there somewhere.
And the soup in the kitchen is also like a star waiting.
Nice blog, thanks.

The peace and serenity found in the garden and nature are a soothing balm to the man with the eyes and ears to see its beauty. That ability, like faith, isn't bestowed on all of us.
This was made clear to me by a woman who recently married a friend of mine. He owns an estate with many stately trees that shelter his driveway from the punishing Southern California summer sun. Of course, they litter the pavement with leaves, avocados, and blossoms in their season, but it seems a small price to pay for their protection and beauty. The new wife dictated that these 100 year old trees be removed because she doesn't like the mess they create and the wildlife they attract. She fears rats, bees, ants, and squirrels inhabit the trees. I pointed out that also hawks and owls nest in them and keep the vermin under control, but she was unrelenting.
Answer to @judyrutrider; About the trees of your friend, it would be very sad that they are removed . They only have to be pruned , put under control and maintenance but not destroyed ! A tree in itself is a true ecosystem and it brings much to the nature equilibrium . I agree totally with your viewpoint.
Fog in the mist picture is beautiful. As strange as it may seem to many I find God's presence not only in nature itself but in a cemetery. Even before son died I found much peace walking in a cemetery.
I am very aware of God when viewing Waikiki Beach sunsets. I saw a great sunrise once at Key Biscayne. Nature speaks of God all over the place. It makes us think, reflect, ponder and contemplate. Thanks for sharing.
That is a really cool fog looking picture. Impressive.
ryc: I imagine he calls the art 'wearing snow shoe' as he is wearing such to make the designs. I originally got the information from an email so used google search to find more information.
I wish I had the same experience as you when I visit the cemetery. At son's grave I feel sad because he isn't here and I tell him how much I miss him.
Now I am losing my older sister, this is a sad time for me.
 Mornin Glorie :sunny:
This is lovely, and so true; "our faith has to support our failing senses".
Before my brother died, he wanted to be outdoors all the time, as much as possible, even as I'll as he was, to the extent of sleeping in his lawnchair under the stars of the summer sky, his favorite season. I believe he felt closer to God there, who is so much easier to sense out in the world that He made.
Michel, your postings on places to find God are very inspiring. Since it is the season of autumn, I really love the photo of the road lined with colorful tree leaves. I know I mentioned appreciating the brilliant leaf colors I am seeing in my area. Thank you so much for your visit and for your insightful and spiritual comments. It is difficult for me to keep up with posting every single day, but I am trying to keep it up. It is amazing that now I am on this theme, when I least expect it, something happens during the day that makes an impression on me and for which I am grateful. ~~Blessings & Cheers
Right now I live in Glendale/Burbank and the soil is a nice sandy texture. Sandy soil is not too good for building homes, but it certainly is easy to work with.
My old home had clay soil and we planted a lot of fruit trees. California is warm enough for oranges and other semi tropical plants. I have grown onions but I should try carrots because they grow in sandy soil.
I suppose the easiest plant to grow in my aquarium is water cress. It is not too cold for guppies but more tropical fish will require a heater (or a warm home). I wonder if clams are easy to grow? I do know that scallops and other shell fish can be very beautiful to look at.
RYC: I think we should have more inspiring ideas in life... =)
Ty so very much for your comments on my post about making crock pot turkey stew Michel.
Ty so very much for your comments about my walk tot he pond and the squirrel.
I agree with the quote of George Bernard Shaw. Working in a garden or just sitting and enjoying the tranquility can be a religious experience.
Lovely photos of nature. I agree with your comments about finding God's voice in nature. His handywork is all around us. ryc: thank you for your comments about my friend Traintrack.
:heartbeat:
What a hardworking man -- working on his garden with such love, made me I miss my garden back at my home state when I lived with my parents. Currently I'm living in the capital city in a condo with my son, so I don't have much space for my flowers. I'm better at gardening than at cooking.
Love the photos.
:heartbeat:
The last blog you commented on is the little town of Zermatt and the beautiful mountain in the Matterhorn. Never been there in the winter, but I'm sure is is beautiful. We have beautiful mountains in the Cascade Mountain range, that do rivial the Matterhorn. No snow where I live, tho it has been teasing us by coming down 1/2 down the lower foothills. I'm sure by Christmas, Mother Nature will have blanket our valley with white.
You and Janine have a wonderful week.........................love Marilyn
would really love to work the land one of these days
finding God in places... I think He (or She) is everywhere... we just have to look closer
i love the pictures of you working hard at the ground in the cold, dark dusk. a bit creepy....a little cold looking at those pictures. but yes a well-earned dinner and warm bath afterwards, non? :goodjob: i love those 2 pictures at the end. yes, beautiful places to know/feel God. i am trying to think when i can feel God....will get back to you.
ANGELA
Ty so very much for your comments about my post about the squirrel holding me hostage for a peanut. Yes he does know me Michel and I feed them well when I walk through the path to the pond-I am always carrying a pocket full of peanuts and other goodies for them.
God is in all things. I have gotten more aware these past months of His presence. Daily there are miracles of His making. Blessings to all of you and much love
Nancy
