  • You are blessed with a beautiful family, Michel.  The staircase photo is adorable.  Now that Christmas is past and I am still home in Alabama with my mom and siblings, I have been spending a lot of time taking photos and setting up a Flickr account.  Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2007!

  • What a great way to do gifts. So do those at the bottom of the steps pass up to the top, or do those at the top have to wait on those at the bottom to open their gifts first?  I would like to be the child at the top so that I could see all the presents being opened.   I hope your holidays were wonderful.  Amazing that you got a picture of all of them together.  Wonderful.

  • Simple is always good!  and your grandchildren are absolutely beautiful!  i know they cherish every moment spent with you at your lovely home!

  • I love simple! You had a house full that is for sure!  I hope and pray I have as many blessings as you and Janine with your children and grandchildren!

  • What a delightful Christmas! What beautiful children!

  • Womderful!  Thanks for sharing these pictures.  Happy New Years!

  • Am still waiting for pictures to come up but seeing I was no30 thought I had better start writing everyone seems so tied up with Xmas not much of interest on Xanga at the moment, that suits me as I am seeing England thrashed yet again in the cricket why they can't get a good team to send abroad I do not know thw Aussies are too big headed already good pics were up It reminded me of the time when our family all used to gather like that I only had 12 in those days so only have one photo of all of mine together except the youngest jasmine who is still onlyy 14 all the others are at work or married  and have their own children I was young having mine and they were all young getting married. Hope your new Year is good I received your card for Xmas yesterday so pretty thank you I did e,mail not sure if they send mine ,this new lot I am with. Love Marjie.

  • Good heavens, twelve!  You are the second of the people I sub to that I have read as having twelve grandchildren!  Do they always sit on the steps to open presents?  That makes a nice picture.

Looks like you had a lovely Christmas!

  • Beautiful family gathering!  A picture is worth a thousand wordz!

  • You're entries are always filled with deep moments with nature, your family and lots of love. I wonder if you ever have a bad day or if you ever get angry.

    Cute kids.

  • Its great to see your family together at Christmas and the joy of your grandchildren at opening their presents. Your " big " grandchildren have seem to have grown up in the past year.

Wishing Janine and yourself a happy heathly new year

  • A truly magical time for children in France   Happy new year to all    Michel    regards  Ron

  • Enchanting! 12, o mon dieux! Giggle....I had three of my own children and one grandson...and he is adorable! But it wore me out!

I hope you had a good day and had some rest later. What a dynasty you have, and all incredibly beautiful grandchildren. Blessings to you, Michel! You hold a special place in my heart. I have missed writing to you. What a year it has finally been for me!

  • Sorry I meant to say before that I received your photos and card ,Thank you

  • wow such a big family!!

  • I hope they'll continue to mingle even when they're adults! My family is very small and my parents hardly see their siblings. I think I've seen my dad's cousin only once. But my husband's family is more in touch with the extended family and I think that's better.

  • Twelve beautiful grandchildren.    I see that you have a holiday "kids' table" as well.    My husband and I were very old before we got to move from the kids' table!

  • A beautiful family you have and a nice way to give gift's.  Shirley

  • Great looking family. - blessings.

  • You are a blessed man, It must take a small fortune to buy them all gifts : )

  • Wonderful photos Michel. You know that the best thing about having grandchildren is that you can send them home to their parents   I remembered you and your DIL at Mass on Christmas Eve. Marie

  • I am overjoyed to see your family!  How wonderful to have them all together!  I imagine you had a full house with everyone there.

I tried simple, but I must have missed a step somewhere.  It didn't feel like it once all was said and done.  I'm glad yours went well.

Wishing you the best for the New Year!  Thank you for your friendship in so many ways!  You know you have a place in my heart. - Your friend, Rachel

  • Yes, Michel, you can see that I can't even keep up with myself. - Rachel

  • Michel...I wish I could help you with your desk!  ;O)  Blaine is very adamant about keeping the desk area and the papers in order which is a good thing because I tend to let those papers build up until they take over!  :O)  It takes a great amount of discipline to keep things under control...I am working on that one daily!

The winter time is a great time to get organized...we are not busy in our gardens and with the weather being as it is...we can devote more time to organizing those towering papers that seem to grow and grow and grow!  Kinda of like weeds!  ;O)

I need to do this with our pictures...boxes and boxes of pictures.  I have thrown away so many that were blurred, duplicates and pictures I haven't a clue who, what, where or when they were taken.  I would like to do as my grandmother did and only have a few of each for each season of life.

    Lots of hugs!

    xoxo Cat

  • That's a good way to get them all together for a photo. hmmmm... I'll use the stairs to gather my grandchildren and children for a photo she plots. you still have a beautiful family.

  • Aww.  No worries.  The exciting news is that my boyfriend was supposed to play drums for a famous musician.  They decided that their original drummer would be able to make it to the show so they didn't need him.  He and I still get to watch the concert though!

    <3,

    Aubrey

  • What wonderful pictures. You have a beautiful family! :)

Thank you for your comment. I'm not exactly quitting Xanga. In fact, I love the friends I have made on Xanga very much. However, the computer I use is at work. I'm about to have a baby in about 3 weeks and will be staying home. My husband and I hope to have a computer set up for me soon but until then, I won't be on Xanga as often as before. Plus, I'm sure I will have my hands full with our new baby! :)

Take care! Have a wonderful New Year!

  • Belle famille, et belle maison!

    Bon Noel!

  • Beaucoup, beaucoup! I see you commenting on a lot of different sites, so I thought I'd stop by. I took several years of French in high school and college, so it's fun to read you, also. Peace!

  • I always enjoy seeing the pictures of your beautiful grandchildren. They have grown so much. What a wonderful Christmas you must have had, surrounded by all those children.

It makes me sort of homesick for when all of my siblings were at home-there were only nine of us, but I can still remember those happy times. We never had many gifts, but Christmas still held a lot of meaning for us.

Glad you and Janine had such a blessed Christmas.

    Love Edie Rose

They will be there for new year too?

  • I love having the children together ,it looks like you all had a really good time being together!you staircase ans house are almost as lovely as your family!

  • Simple but good is the best type of Christmas. All the best to your beautiful family.

  • What a beautiful family Michel..........and such a wonderful number.....an even dozen!

So does it look like you may end up with a bakers dozen at all?

  • My goodness! 12 grandchildren to (((HUG))). You are blessed, Michel. Happy New Year.

  • So, you have 12 grandchildren also. And all very good looking!   Isn't it wonderful?  They are what makes life worth living!

  • Happy New Year hope you have the greatest year ever. Judi

  • That is a lot of kids...and a lot of hapiness, Michel!  Wishing you health and joy in the new year.

    Hugs,

    Lisa

  • Ah my dear friend, your family is filled with angelic faces. So beautiful.

  • You are indeed blessed with the most beautiful grandchildren!  It's wonderful that you had them all at your home.  Do you celebrate Christmas December 25th?  Do you celebrate the 12 days?

In the US, we seem to pile everything....giving and opening gifts, a lot of eating all on one day and then some people manage to squeeze in a little time for Church Christmas Eve.  Then, once Dec. 26 arrives...no more carols.  Just the big clean up!

You have a wonderful New Year.  I hope that 2007 brings complete healing to your DIL.

    Love,

    Francoise.

  • Thanks for the comments.  It's still so shocking.

  • What a splendid and memorable holiday, to all be together sharing Christmas!

    Annalisa

  • You have a beautiful family Michel, and it looks like you all had a wonderful Christmas together!  Happy New Year to you and your family!

  • I didn't know that the churches in France belong to the state.  -doesn't sound very respectful.

  • Michel, these are lovely photos of your grandchildren in your beautiful comfortable home. Everyone is happy to be together. This picture shows that is was a wonderful day together!!

    to you and Janine

    ~Rosemary

  • hahaha, Michel,

Yes, many birthday wishes for many M's........but it is all the same boy!!!

It was Matthew's 18th birthday, and they are all his nick-names!

He is the one who first started calling me Lily.......and is so much more like my little brother than just a friend!  He has taken a photo of my present to him and put it on his profile pic....then changed his site to make it more like australia so she feels at home.....cute! (moredhel)

May God  bless you all dear Michel in the coming New Year!

Narelle de lily de la Valley

    (sweet)

  • Happy New Year, Michel.

  • Regarding the French, I can understand bits of it in films. I like to read directions to appliances and cosmetics bottles in French and then compare it to the English. I think I have a couple of Moliere's plays in my bookshelf. I need to get a copy of Le Petit Prince en francais. And perhaps change my keyboard settings to allow for easier accents aigues et graves and such. Peace! And thanks for subscribing.

  • Simple is wonderful.  That way you can relax and enjoy the children and the holiday.  Thank you for the graduation wishes.  Have a Happy New Year, Michel.

  • You are blessed with plentiful, beautiful granchildren-you are very lucky! Happy 2007 to you, may it be bright and happy. Love to you, Laurie

  • Thank you for visiting me, Michel and for your good wishes.  I will keep you updated.

    Hugs,

    Lisa

  • Ça me rappelle tellement mon enfance.

Tant pis. )

  • Most of the pictures were at night not many people out at night. It was just an exercise in we all walk different paths or roads. Judi

  • Happy New Year....Will be nice to get things back in order and relax after all the work for Christmas.  About your question...what is a plant?  It's a factory our's is divided into 4 so we call them plants 1-2-3-4.  Just much easier when you talk about them.  I don't know where my story goes I never know when I write one words just pop into my head and off I go.  It really relaxes me to sit down and write, something I have always enjoyed doing even as a child.  Doesn't matter if it's good or bad I just love to write.  The fun part for me is, I never know where the story is going, and I never know the ending until I get to it so it's all new to me as I read it.  Shirley

  • Ah Michel,  what a wonderful Christmas you must have had -- surrounded by family and their offspring as well.   Ours was much the same,  and will be treasured forever.

In friendship,  I wish you all the happiest ever New Year.

  • Looks like you and your family had a really wonderful and cosy Christmas! You have a beautiful home too.

I wish you a blessed and happy 2007!

  • michel, wishing you and your family a very wonderful new year of 2007! may it be filled with lots of love, happiness and magical blessings!!! ;) angela

  • I don't believe anything with 12 children in it can really be simple! It takes a lot of work and a lot of energy, and it's really wonderful that all your "grands" have a central place to be together, and grandparents to love and admire. As a matter of fact, we admire those grandparents too!
ryc Michel--thank you for the ideas about the books. I think I saw some Michelin books in one of the local bookstores. And I can look at the public library for Napoleon III--I have read a little about him, especially when he visited in the U.S., but I thought he was just some kind of society figure. Was his wife Eugenie? Well, I have heard something about her, but it was about fashion. Still, they are sort of a hook that I can begin with in my reading.
Wishing for you and your family a wonderful 2007. There might be hard times, but you will draw strength from each other. And you and Jeanine will keep everyone together, with your strong love, I know.
    Joy

  • Thank you SO much for the pictures you sent!!! I LOVED them!

I wish you and Janine and your family the best new year yet. You are a wonderful person and am I better for knowing you.

    Love,

  • Such lovely faces and a path into the future to carry on your family traditions. Happy New Year to you and yours Michel.

Just hanging in getting the Christmas decorations down and getting ready tonight for the New Year here in Nashville. I know you are already into New Years Day in France. The very best to you and your family...Cheers to an incredible 2007 for us all!

    Love, Brenda

    G. Jim

  • The beauty and joy of having the children there

  • May this year bring you only good things. May you be surrounded with family and love. Judi

  • simple is always the best   you are a blessed man Michel  & blessed men have blessed New Years  love to you  mag

  • Une bonne année, my friend, to all of you and yours

  • Yes, Michel the magic of Christmas is a simple story of family and togetherness...I love the pictures, the tender faces of the children...so much ahead in life, so much anticipation!  Your creche looks very similar to ours, also quite old.   I love the blue walls in your dining (?) room, I have a similar color in one of my bathrooms!  I have been fine, although I have been off from work at the university, I certainly have been non-stop busy!  Had a lovely Christmas, and went to a german restaurant last night for New Years, and then, watched the "ball" drop in Times Square.  The best new year for you, Michel...I know there is a dark cloud, and you are in my prayers for better news.  Love, Lowie

  • I wonder if you are going to defend France in its standing in this world? Well I guess you are happy that the little ones were behaving and that is enough for you. Would I even try to defend some of the things that the US has done? I guess not, so I have nothing to complain about and just will enjoy your musings and recollections as they are, au just.

Noel, is a french word and hopefully more good french things appear on the world theater. Things are disapointing in the aircraft making business, but who knows what progress will come from the mind of the French. Au revoir, mon frier(sp?)

  • I had a wonderful and restful New Years day hope you did too. Judi

  • Tu dois être très fier! Quelle belle famille!

I has no idea what that means............. Was said by eursomthinabove........

    English translation below.........

You is my brother................ What a good lookin' dude you is...........

    ////////

I hope you don't mind me making fun..........

I really do appreciate the time it takes to change what you say in your heart to another language...........

You are very kind in ways I has no idea about...............

And yes...... I knows I has already been here.......................

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR SIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Michel I have a question. I read today an article about France and how there are 5 million North Africans living there. It said that they are in a virtual state of entifada/violent revoloution against the nation of France, they are now "French citizens" but hate the people, government, and traditions of France.
I must ask you, why did France let these people in? Who's idea was this, what leader, what political party, what was the purpose?
Why did the French tire of their country and seek to change it in so radical a way?

  • how lovely! that's a lot of kids!
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

  •    What a lovely family you have my friend God surely has blessed us both I pray this New Year you have all you need and much happiness . Thank you for being my friend I am bless by your friend ship My best to you and your whole family.

  • Michel,

In the photo at the top, look over the young man's shoulder. He's the one with the Gap shirt on. You'll see a tiny circle of light on the blue wall, an angel orb. In the photo editor, when one lightens the dark areas, you also seen one more angel orb between the curtains on the right. In addition the bottom two photos have them. In the post above this, there's one on your right shoulder too! And with lightening, one on the man whose standing on the left with the dark jacket. His is hard to see though. All miracles of God's protection of your family.
