Liberté ! Freedom !
English version below the pictures
Oh ! Freedom !
Oh Freedom !
Oh Fredom !
Over me .
…………..
( Début d ' un spiritual
Beginning of an American spiritual song )

Laisse - moi libre . Let me free . Photo M . Fauquet Feb 2006
The horses had just left the stall to go in the small field behind the farm . They rushed and galoped like mad , drunk with freedom . I felt myself that freedom in the misty air of this late evening . It must be contagious . But I noticed also the fence and the hedge .surrouning them . This meant freedom can be used but with some rules to be preserved .. This is what I was tinking when I looked at them .
Freedom is a gem for the Man and so for all beings . And indeed at last the black, horse looked at me when I went closer . I understood he told me : " let me free " .

Freedom with boundries is a good thing. It sets our limits of protection without taking away our goals and dreams.
Welcome back man
The pics remind me of a Rolling Stones song called Wild Horses
have a great day man
What beautiful horses! I always love your descriptions/interpretations of what you see.
Have a blessed day!
Michele
I felt that same freedom this morning when I stepped out on the back porch and the March wind was blowing strong and cool. I believe God designed his creatures with the innate desire to be free!
You find joy in the little things of life, as well as the big things. That is what I like about you. I have told my family about you, about your zest for life.
God Bless
Laurie
I grew up with horses and am still dreaming of having my own horse farm some day. Thank you for sharing...
My best friend's horse is getting ready to have a baby, I'm very excited!
,
I see where you're coming from, freedom is great, even with boundries, because they're there for the safety of all.
Amy
Seems all animals go stir crazy when they're kept indoors. Including me!
Makes me think of children that have just been let out for recess at school.
How well I remember that feeling of freedom and how great it was to be outside enjoying the fresh air. I can still feel the wind blowing my hair, as I played on the swingset with my friends.
I think there needs to be some boundries in most things in life. Love the pictures of the beautiful horses.
Welcome back!!!
Love
Edie Rose
Freedom comes with a price though ! Boundaries are needed so that the people that inhabit this world with us can also enjoy freedom God gives us free will but we have to use it wisely, kindly and lovingly. Can I put Tuesdays on my calendar as " Michel's Day " again now ????
Marie
Les chevaux sont beaux.
you are a poet and a gentleman!
I am sure they are happy to just be safe.
The freedom to wallow in all that mud
We humans need that sort of freedom sometimes not to have a care in the world. At least they did not have snow under their feet
I LOVE that idea.....just like a kite....we are free to fly like a kite but need the string (boundaries) so we don't crash. With the string, we can soar.
I love to watch horses kick up their heels.
ahh..freedom.... one of the few great joys of life that we often take for granted! i love that the black horse is looking right at you!
You have freedom or you could not let your mind soar like that, Judi
Hi Michel: I hope your birthday was a happy one with a big cake and many smiles. I guess all living things need freedom human or animals though we and they can tolerate some confindment we later begin to long for the open space to stretch our leg's. I love horse's but have no desire to own any, I like to enjoy watching them they have so much grace, pride and strength. Enjoy the remainder of your day.
Shirley
horsies!!!!! I LOVE the black one but they are all beautiful. And your words that go with the pictures are very appropriate!
How beautiful!
(And, yes, I added 2 cups milk and 1 cup cream to my potatoes au gratin. Yum!)
i guess if we dont experience being locked up and confined we wont appreciate liberty when we have it!nice horses
I love horses. They are beautiful creatures with lovely personalities, though sometimes mischievous.
This is a wonderful photograph, Michel.
Did you have a birthday? Well, Happy Birthday to you, Michel and many many happy and healthy days for this year!

I enjoyed this today!!
I think skating is sort of like being a free horse then!

I love horses. I never get to be around them. I also love the expression 'drunk with freedom'.
I agree, Michel! Freedom within the bounds of courtesy and respect towards others should always be observed.
I love the way you've used the horses to convey this very important message. I've seen the joy with which my dogs run around the park when I let them off the lead, but they're diciplined to come back to me when called. They know their boundries, but also I give them freedoms to express their characters.
The horses do enjoy the same experience!
I know our horse loves to run free~! she has a big pasture, so she should be happy.
I hope you have a fun birthday.
I hope I said that correctly. Looks as if the horse liked having his picture taken!
Allison
I hope you had a grand birthday!!
Interesting blog. I love to watch horses "playing" out in the fields. And, as far as freedom goes, it is wonderful, but does need boundaries.
Are those your horses? They are beautiful, especially the joy they are showing as they run in the first one. Looks like they are going to get pretty muddy, though!
Yes that innocent freedom to play and kick up one's heels!!!!!
I think most people, like the majestic horses you have here, are perpetually yearning for what they interpret as freedom, from freedom from their own fears to financial freedom. I always enjoy reading your posts.
What a beautiful post about freedom. Freedom isn't free and does come at a price. Too many people in this world do not enjoy freedom.
I love horses. Do they belong to you?
Freedom, we all would like freedom.
Your little ANTOINE is such a treasure, so small yet concentrated in his art work,
he still has the freedom to choose.
RITA
The horses are like kids, let out at recess to play. Ahhhh, the freedom.
Well said. I could feel the gallops as they came out.
How wonderful that you could understand the horse's thoughts. You indeed can commune with nature.
Freedom can mean so many things. I think if our souls are free we fly though the world in joy. Love to you and Janine and all your family
I would say that they enjoy, like us; a little space of freedom.
I would say that they enjoy, like us; a little space of freedom.
I grew up with horses and miss living on a farm. My Father worked in the race tracks all his life. Thank you for letting me see this beauty threw your eyes. Dorothy
Did you have a wonderful birthday? I just hope that you enjoyed celebrating. Did you have a cake? I hope every day is wonderful for you. I think it will be since you have such a good outlook on life.
I was born in 1934. I think I'm a year younger than you are....Those were the depression years...and then our involvement in the war. We all were willing to sacrifice for the war effort. No one complained. Now, it's not so cut and dry because we are fighting terrorists and not a national enemy such as Hitler, Mousselini and Hirohito....This is more difficult. I wish us all well ... freedom and peace...and an end to war.
I have been remiss in my xanga upkeep. I apologize. Your horses remind me of my childhood in Virginia. The countryside is so very similar.
They are so pretty. It does look like they want to be free!
Sorry I haven't been around in awhile, and I guess I missed your birthday, so Happy Belated Birthday, and hope it was lots of fun with lots of goodies to enjoy. Raised on a farm, we had horses, various kinds -- an Appaloosa stallion (I forgot his name), an Arabian -- she was white and her name was Frosty, and gosh, I can't remember the names of the other 3 we had. Whenever the weather changed, and a storm was coming, they'd always get excited and run around. It looked so cool. I don't know if they were afraid, or if they just felt the energy of the storm.
My view, freedom combined with common sense
and proper ethics is a thing to be fought to the death for.
very lovely....can you imagine what it would be like to be free? really be free? i think we americans have soo many freedoms we take for granted. some rules are good, but it seems too many people just dont respect for rules, and they take freedom to a rediculously obsurd level that ruins it for everyone. perhaps one day, everyone will learn to get along and we can all be free.
So you have celebrated another year and all has gone well! I like the picture. It is true - Freedom still has it boundaries. Many hugs to you, my friend! Meredith arrives in the U.S. today! - Rachel
Freedom...not many beings have total freedom. I'm not sure if I'd want total freedom anyway.
It's like a child waiting to be free from school or me waiting for work to be over to run to the freedom of my car and go home. My dogs in the mornings and evenings wanting first in the house and then out of it. ha But woe to them that want their freedom and yours as well. That's where humans get into trouble ha. It's almost Spring thank heaven...almost time to plant the garden. Dad already has turnip greens and onions and lettuce growing. I bet you do to. Hope this finds you well. How are your eyes?
Love, Brenda
Bonne anniversaire encore! Bon mercredi!
Thank you for stopping by my little blog, Michel. I have 7 children. Here's a pic of them. Belated Bon Anneversaire!
Surely in the heart of every person is the God-given desire for freedom. With that freedom comes responsibility to not abuse it. A galloping horse is the symbol of the near by state of Kentucky. While Kentucky is famous for the fine horses that are bred there, it is also a symbol of the independent spirit they cherish.
Best wishes,
Carol Suzanne
I work each day with those who are dying and talk to them about it I hope that my work helps others to cross over in peace. In doing this work I think when my time comes I will go in peace, Judi
Such freedom.. Happy Birthday, Michel.. sorry to be late!
Lovely! I've seen you all over xanga today so I had to stop by.

Thanks. Everything is fine. Will be writing again soon.
I am giving little Simon a break.
I see exactly what you do and I have to look at the fence and hedge as their protection. Just like parents are for their children...they allow them to be themselves but protect them from harm. What a beautiful blog Michel. I love you so much!! Thanks for worrying about me!!
Michel your site has a very special "feel" to it. Comfortable, homey...your words and pictures are always delightful, and comforting. It is like going for tea when I come here. merci beaucoup -g
ahh... to talk to the animals.
Hi Michel! Whta a beautiful picture. I love animals...if I had money I would love to own a farm. Also your thought about freedom is right on!
Have a nice day!
Paula
Beautiful! I find it amazing that a white horse can still appear white after trotting through mud.
RYC about transportation on the farm -- lots of times we move about on something pulled by the tractor. In fact, my sister and I were just talking about when we went out looking for a Christmas tree on the farm. Dad hooked up, of all things, the manure spreader (empty of course)!! There was dried up stuff and straw on the bottom, so we rode in it out to the woods looking for a tree. Reminiscing about that, we chuckled. During bad winters, sometimes that's the only way we could get to our mailbox!
Ah, I love horses and grew up around them. Yes, they are the epitome of freedom and it's boundries. There will never come a time that man will willingly forfeit his freedom, yet we, as Americans, do try to impose our ideas of freedom on others under the guise of concern.
I loved the pictures, Michel. And, yes, the black horse recognized a kindred spirit when he looked at you!
Bisous Michel
Mimi
Indeed, 'let me free'! let me grow wings, and become the Pegasus! Gorgeous horses, how much I love them.
ryc: The dance is so important and freeing!
Beautiful.
I certainly don't reject everything my family taught me just some of it. They taught me for instance to always pay my bills, to be honest, to work hard and I thank them for that. Judi
I will update soon. only becos u encourage me:)

Horses love this spring weather, and I love to watch them enjoying it.
RYC No, Michel, we celebrate the stations the first week of Lent and the last week of Lent. Our church also has a Tuesday service in which we pray the Holy Rosary. This is why I was grateful for RedPoppy (Rita) for sending me the rosaries. They are truly beautiful.
Yes i guess we don't appreciate the freedom that some of us have to other parts of the world .Lovely horses Nice to see you posting again ,and I am making the effort to visit again. I find one gets lazy just posts, and hopes someone will reply .I shall try to be better .I hope my black moods of the past week have now gone. Glad you got you card ansd I presume a lot ofother wishes, kidding me I had got it wrong Naughty bear.. Love Marjie

oh i thought this horses is yours.. but it's good that your daughter own the farm.. i wish i had that one..
Michel, I so agree! We cannot fully love another UNLESS we love ourselves first! I am not sure what caused around 40 sites to be shut down-perhaps only here in the US? Love to you.
Good Morning, Michel! Cheerful today over here. Hope it's cheerful there, too.
Michel, not many dismal days--just itching for Spring! Joyeaux Vernal Equinox!
your big heart talks to the animals. i am sure they enjoyed it. great pictures..they capture the feeling too!
Thank you so much for your comments.
Man, little by little has boxed himself into a fenced corral. He was born with complete freedom, in the time of Adam!

Hi Michel! Did you see me wave to you as I flew over France?
I am back from our adventures in Paris and the Chateau and we had some adventures. I thought of you having a birthday and hoped it was wonderful. Blessings, kc
I'm not even sure what I want to do in life that is great, but I hope I figure it out soon.
i think it's called 'spring'!!
