Mon potager en ce moment

La terre a été labourée . Il reste quelques poireaux et du persil . Les oignons et les échalottes  ont été plantés , les pois semés . Un filet les protège des merles et des tourterelles . Ce potager a une surface de 400 m2. C ' est un potager mais c ' est aussi un champ de bataille contre  la terre dure , le mauvais temps , les mauvaises herbes , certains  oiseaux , les insectes et les champignons ! Dur !

My vegetable garden at this time .

The grouund has been dug . Some leeks and parsley remain . Onions , shallots have been planted , peas have been sawed . A net protect them from blackbirds and turtledoves . This vegetable garden is about  400 square meters  large . It is a vegetable garden but it is also a battlefield against the strong soil ,  the bad  weather , the weeds , any birds , bugs and mushrooms . Hard !

les murs sont enfin réparés .

  Entre deux pluies , j ' ai enfin réussi à réparer les deux murs dont je vous ai parlé antérieurement . Il était temps car on sent maintenant  l ' appel du jardin potager .

 Il est temps après avoir préparé le terrain de semer les pois , de planter les pommes de terre , les oignons et les échalottes . J  ' espère que le temps sera beau la semaine prochaine .

At last walls are repaired .

Between two rains , I have succeeded at last to repair the walls of which I spoke before . It was time as we feel the  vegetable garden appeal now .

  It is time after dressing the ground to sow peas , to plant potatoes , onions and shallots . I hope that the weather will be fine the next week .

Go ahead !

A  l 'approche du Dimanche des Rameaux .

  Cette semaine ma femme  et moi irons dans les cimetières pour méditer et prier sur les tombes de la famille . Comme à la Toussaint le premier Novembre . C ' est une tradition pour nous . Bonne tradition qui nous permet de sentir encore bien vivants nos parents , grands - parents , oncles et tantes et d ' être enveloppés de leur amour .

  Dimanche prochain sera justement le Dimanche des Rameaux . Beaucoup de gens vont à l ' église ce jour là emportant une branche de buis qui sera bénie , signe d ' espérance et de vie . Lors de cette messe après la lecture de la Passion du Christ le petit choeur que je dirige chantera un choral de Bach " Vendredi Saint " en polyphonie puis à la fin le fameux Cantique de Jean Racine de Gabriel Fauré à 4 voix . Je ne suis pas trop rassuré mais j ' espère que cela marchera .

At the approach of Palm Sunday .

  This week my wife and me will go to the cemeteries to ponder and pray in front the family graves . As the All saints day on the first of November . It is a tradition for us . Nice tradition since it allows us to feel again our parents , grandparents , uncles and aunts well living and to feel us  being  wrapped in their love .

  Next Sunday will just be Palm Sunday  . Many people come to the church with branch of box wood which will be blessed in sign of hope and life .  During the Mass after the reading of the Passion of Christ the little choir that I conduct will sing a Bach' s Choral " Saint Friday " in polyphony then at the end the famous Canticle of Jean Racine by Gabriel Fauré  ( 4 voices ) .I am not too much reassured but I hope it will be working .

 Parterres avec roses trémières etc ... . Le jardin a été décrit dans une chronique du 1er juillet 2001. Cette photo se veut être un remerciement pour tous ceux qui m' ont adressé des voeux pour mon anniversaire d ' une façon ou d ' une autre

                               Le pilier penché .

  Comme vous le savez j ' ai deux murs en ruine à réparer au bout de la pelouse . Un est terminé .

   Le deuxième mur commence par un pilier qui est dangeureusement penché et risque de tomber . Aussi j' ai entrepris de le redresser et à mettre du mortier pour consolider .

  Je ne sais pas pourquoi , mais en faisant cela je pensais à la Tour penchée de Pise . Mais aussitôt je me dis " Michel , reste modeste ! " . N ' est - ce pas ?

                               The leaning pillar .

  As you know I have two walls in ruin at the end of the lawn . I have ended to repair one of them .

  At the beginning of the second wall there is a pillar that is dangerously leaning and is in danger of falling down . I have begun to set up again it and put mortar to make sure .

  I don ' t know why but in doing that I thought of the leaning Tower of Pisa . But as soon as I told me " Michel , remain modest !"  Isn't it ?

              Journée internationale des femmes .

 En France aujourd ' hui est la journée internationale des femmes ce 8 Mars .

 Je rends hommage aux femmes de Xanga  , si créatives et courageuses . et aussi aux autres de par le monde . La femme ne serait - elle pas l ' avenir de l ' homme ?

                      International women Day .

  In France today is the international women Day on this 8th of March .

  I do homage to the Xanga women so creative and courageous - and also to the others in the world . Would be not the woman the future of man ?

                                Au pied du mur .

  Au bout de notre pelouse il y a deux courts murs assez hauts  qui marquent simplement les coins de la propriété . Ils s ' écroulent depuis quelques années avec l ' aide de la vigne vierge et du lierre . J ' étais d ' abord content d ' avoir ces ruines qui donnaient un charme romantique ou antique à cette partie boisée où vivent l '  Aubépine rose , le Sophora tordu ,un  Pommier   et un Houx et le noyer etc .... Je me demandais même avec un sourire si je n ' allais pas faire visiter ! ! !

  Malheureusement les ruines se dégradent de plus en plus et bientôt je n ' aurai plus rien du tout . C ' est pourquoi j ' ai acheté hier beaucoup de mortier . J ' ai à refaire les joints et à remettre les briques tombées après les avoir nettoyées du vieux mortier et de la mousse .

   Comme vous le voyez , ce n ' est pas seulement reconstruire des murs mais restaurer des monuments historiques de style 1930 . Un proverbe français dit : " c ' est au pied du mur qu ' on voit le maçon " . Pauvre de moi . Je ne suis pas un spécialiste du tout .Je me sens un peu démuni .  Chers amis , dites moi : " bon courage ! " . Merci .

                        At the foot of the wall .

  At the end of our lawn there are two short but rather tall walls that marck only the corners of the property . They have been collapsing for some years with the help of the Virginian creeper and the ivy . At first I was happy to have those ruins which gave a romantic or antique charm to this wooded part where the pink Hawthorn , the twisted Sophora , an apple tree , a holly and the walnut tree are living . I even wondered with a smile if I was not going to make visit ! ! !  

  Unfortunatly the ruins are more and more in decay and soon I will have nothing at all any more . So I bought yesterday much mortar . I have to make again the joints and to replace the fallen bricks after cleaning ( old mortar , moss ) .

  As you see it is not only to rebuild walls but restore style 1930 historical monuments ! A french proverb says : " It is at the foot of the wall we recognize the mason " . I am not a specialist , at all . I am feeling poor !  Dear friends , tell me " have courage ! " . Thank you. 

                      On l ' appelait Max .

  Je l ' ai connu en Décembre dernier chez ses maîtres , des amis du Canada . C ' était un chien , un Golden Retriever de presque 9 ans et il avait un compagnon Brady d ' un an plus jeune . Très tôt , chaque matin , quel que soit le temps ils allaient se promener avec leurs maîtres dans le secteur autour de la maison . Max et Brady étaient les " boys " de la famille . Le soir , ils gardaient la porte des chambres des parents et des filles au premier étage. mais ils reconnurent aussitôt l ' ami  que j ' étais .

  Depuis Janvier Max était devenu malade : visites chez le vétérinaire , antibiotiques , rien n ' y faisait . Rongé de fièvre il ne s ' alimentait plus et ne marchait presque plus , avec visiblement beaucoup de souffrances .  Il ne se plaignit jamais . Mais il était au bout du rouleau . Il  est mort hier.

  Ce n ' était qu ' un chien . Mais ceux qui ont déjà perdu un chien peuvent comprendre la peine de sa maîtresse . Au revoir Max . Tu as bien rempli ta vie de chien en rendant tes maîtres heureux leur donnant amour et fidélité .

                      His name was Max .

  I have known him in last December in his masters ' home , Canadian friends . He was a dog , almost 9 years old Golden Retriever and he had a companion Brady , one year younger . Earlier every morning whatever the weather they went for a walk with their masters in the area around the house . Max and Brady were the " boys " in the family . At night they were on guard at the door of parents ' and daughters ' bedrooms at the first floor . But they as soon as recognized the friend I was .

  Since January Max was become sick : visits to the vet , antibiotics , nothing was doing . Big fever , not eating , not walking and visibly a lot of sufferings . Never he complained . But he was near of his end . He is dead yesterday .

  He was only a dog. But the ones that already has lost their dog can understand the pain of his mistress . Good bye Max . You have well filled your dog life making your masters happy in giving them your love and faithful .
