En Novembre ,

Quoi qu' on fasse,

Qu ' on bêche le jardin ,

Ou qu ' on défriche les bordures autour des fruitiers ,

Qu ' on rabatte les arbustes

Ou qu 'on taille les haies ,

Il y a toujours un rouge - gorge effronté

Qui vous tient compagnie

Fidèlement ,

Dans le froid .

The redbreast in the garden .

In November ,

Whatever we are doing ,

Whether we turn over the ground in the garden

Or we grub the borders around the fruit trees ,

Whether we cut back the bushes

Or we clip the hedges ,

There always is a cheeky readbreast

That keeps us company ,

Faithfully ,

In the cold .
