Je ne vous dirai pas qu ' Amiens n ' a pas gagné la coupe de France hier au stade France à Paris contre Strasbourg . Il y avait 78600 spectateurs . J ' y étais .

I wont tell you that Amiens has not been the winner for the Frenh cup yesterday at the Stade de France in Paris against Strasbourg . There was 78600 spectators . I was there .
Mauvaises herbes et chardonneret .
Vendredi dernier j ' arrachais des mauvaises herbes autour des arbres fruitiers du potager , mauvaises herbes des pires espèces , " Ranunculus repens " et " Agropyrum repens " . J ' eus beaucoup de difficulté car la terre compactée par les pluies était devenue comme un roc . Complètement trempé par la sueur je pris un temps de repos . A ce moment un chardonneret se posa près de moi à un mètre . Il resta là une minute et j ' eus le temps de l ' admirer . Quel magnifique oiseau ! Ma fatigue avait disparu .
ps : ce Dimanche c ' est la fête des mères en France . Bonne fête aux mamans
Weeds and goldfinch .
On last Friday I rooted out weeds around the fruits trees in the kitchen garden , weeds of the worst species " Ranunculus repens " and " Agropyrum repens " . I had much difficulty because of the ground compacted by rains was become a rock . Completly soaked by sweat I took a rest for a time . At this moment a goldfinch settled near me about 1 meter . He remained there for a minute and I had time to admire it . What a beautiful bird ! My fatigue had disappeared .

Citroën Asia Center expedition . L' expédition Citroën Centre Asie .
On the 4th April you left Beirut, crossed Syria, Iraq , Persia and Afghanistan driving Citroën halftracks for a paeceful and scientist mission . So you had to cross the Gobia desert at minus 30 ° . At the end you arrived to Beijing on 12 th February the next year after much difficulties . A 10 months trip ! Is it a dream or reality ? It is the reality of 1931 - 1932 . I have just read the report of this expedition in the newspaper " l ' Illustration " of that period . It was a French expedition often called " la Croisière jaune " managed by André Citroën . The chief was Georges - Marie Haardt who died in 1932 in Hong - Kong after a pneumonia . Among the scientist there was an American Dr Maynard O. William representing the National Geographic society .There was also Father Theilhard de Chardin , geologist and paleontologist . And 20 mechanics etc ... The human effort and courage have been until their limits in that expedition . Would it be possible to remake such a travel nowadays ?

Un ami m ' écrit le 4 mai dernier de Lille : " réflexions sur les inondations de la Somme - Lors de sa visite à Abbeville , notre premier ministre déclarait qu ' il n ' y avait pas de robinet entre les bassins de la Seine et celui de la Somme . Il y a deux jours dans " La Voix du Nord " je lis que les voies navigables faisaient déverser depuis la veille des eaux du bassin de la Somme dans celui de l ' Oise ( avec photo de l ' endroit entre Nesles et Péronne ) et de l ' Escaut via le canal du Nord avec un débit total de 4 m3/s soit celui des pompes installées en aval d ' Abbeville . Bien sûr , c ' est l ' énorme pluviométrie qui est responsable des inondations , mais pourquoi affirmer contre la réalité qu ' il n ' y a aucune communication entre les bassins versants ? C ' est ainsi qu 'on donne prise aux interprétations fantaisistes ."
