  • Traffic.

    Circulation automobile
    Traffic

    English version below the picture

Bienvenue! Madame Nature!

coucher de soleil le 16 janvier 2014

a restful... sunset   January 16 , 2014   Un coucher se soleil ...reposant. ;-)

There is more and more traffic in the cities and driving becomes tiring  : you must take care of the quantities of cars driving behind or in the opposite direction, or from crossings, roundabouts, at pedestrian crossings and cycle lanes, signals, road signs,  the various things put on the street  intentionally to slow speed. You must not forget either keep your speedometer.

Some days ago I chose to take the bus to go the centre town where, of course,  we can find underground parks but  they are often full . This afternoon Iwas driving not in the centre of the town but on the boulevards circling it but I had to be constantly very attentive for the reasons I have just said .  In the past my job asked me to drive on long distances as much as in town as in the country side but it was easier. Probably there were less cars ( and between you and me, I was younger)

Whatever when I came home this evening at about 5h pm I had the need  to walk  in the garden to take my breath and get some  rest . And indeed I was rewarded by the show that offered itself to me.  It was not an exceptional sunset , I already saw on Xanga more beautiful photos of  sunsets  but this one came at the appropriate time . It was my sunset!!  Welcome Mrs Nature !

  • Driving in the traffic can be so stressful, and so tiring. I know that feeling. I am glad you had a beautiful sunset when you got home. Love,
    Zakiah

  • I do not like to drive in the big cities and even in my smaller town it can be very vexing. I know how it is to need to decompress from the stress of it all. You garden is a refuge and the sunset filtered through your trees was a gift!

  • The beauty of a moment can rarely be captured by a simple photograph. Can a photograph portray the smells, the sounds, the wind or coolness in the air? Can a photograph express your tired muscles or the voyage you took?
    No.
A photograph is only a hint, a clue, a small bread crumb left behind by the moment.
Michel, you have your moments and they are so wonderful that you desire to share them with us. That gesture carries more feeling than the simple photograph ever could. In that gesture you convey the most inner depths of feeling, a feeling words nor pictures alone can not convey.
    Blessings, my friend.

  • How lovely that you have a woods to walk, to catch your breath, to relax! I have noticed increased traffic here as well, although I've not yet resorted to using buses or trains.

  • we get in traffic to see our grandsons an hour away but otherwise it's dr. visits.
It doesn't matter the time of day; always busy.

  • I had to drive in L.A. traffic today---they are crazy. lol

    loved that sunset,

    Blessings

  • Yes, driving can be very exhausting and stressful!
But, how wonderful to come home to a walk in the garden with a front row to the sunset! :-) That is invigorating and energizing to me! :-)
And you have given me a smile! :-) Thank you, Michel! :-)
    HUGS!!!,
    Carolyn :-)

  • I hardly ever drive outside of our little town, and almost never at night (my eyes are not good enough.) We have more traffic than we used to, but nothing like the cities. Unfortunately, we also do not have any buses, or any other form of public transportation. Lovely sunset. It is hard to catch the colors of a sunset in a photograph.

  • Take a bus ride, and enjoy the view....I used to do just that....Here in our small town, no buses run.....Everything is either in walking distance, or you need to take the car.....

    • Yes we used to go in car in the center town but now we should take the bus . We reach the level of saturation

  • Sometimes nature can be so soothing. We live in a small town here in Denmark, and have seen a marked increase in the traffic here as well. The roads are not really intended for so many cars, which makes it worse. A walk in the garden is just the thing to relieve the stress of rush hour traffic!

  • our town is small but an intrastate highway runs through it, so the traffic is heavy at times, the good thing is I live close enough to walk to work, church, the park or anywhere I need to go, unless the weather is bad, I'm blessed and appreciate that! I recently had to drive through one of those roundabouts in Virginia, it sure made me nervous! Welcome to Mrs. Nature indeed! ilym

  • What a lovely sunset Michel. TY fir sharing it.
TY for your comment on my post about my iMac. It is an all in one mac desktop computer and I absolutely love it.
    Have a wonderful week end.

  • I regret that France has become too much like the U.S.A.

  • Happy Weekend, Michel!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful restful weekend!
    HUGS!!! :-)

  • I love home in the country best, even though I enjoy traveling. No place like home! Blessings on your week-end! Around here we are have cold and cold and some more cold. I think we're getting used to it. Yesterday I stayed out with the camera, watching the kitties play in the snow.

  • Your sunset is beautiful. I am learning to appreciate the quiet and peace of my own back yard. We, too, have way too much traffic and it makes getting around hard. I have learned to take the bus if I am going to the center of town. Parking is difficult there and people are not nice about stopping when they should or letting you pass when it is your turn.
    Have a wonderfully peaceful weekend.
    Hugs and smiles {{ :) :) }}

  • Driving is something I really don't like. I don't like interstates at all. It's stressful. My parents live 50 miles away and am ashamed to say I don't see them as much as I want to because of the driving and people out there are crazy drivers.

  • Walking is wonderful. Even being a passenger in a car makes me nervous. :-P

    • Unlike you, when I am a passenger in a car and not the driver I have a tendency to fall asleep! :-)

  • I am so glad that you are brave enough to take your local bus. I am never that brave. One wonderful thing about living in Davis is our sunsets and crazy sunset clouds. I see them every evening on my way home from work showing off for the sorry and stuck commuters. xxoo Cassi

  • I need nature to restore me after the times in town or after a day at work, with all it's bustle and technology. What a nice picture.

  • Hello Michel andTy so much for your comment on TD's photo wearing the Pink Floyd hoodie. yes he is having some very good days and I am so very grateful.
    Have a wonderful week.

  • I think God creates those sunsets for us personally. Everyone has their own sunset! Much love to all {v}

  • Afte a stressful day of driving it is always nice to have a beautiful view and sunset. They set me to rights when my days are tiring. Blessings on you and your lovely wife.

  • Hello, Michel! I haven't been around lately. I don't know why. I guess I have been feeling a little down and haven't been inspired to write. Maybe this afternoon I will post something and read some more posts of others.
    Thanks for asking! <3

  • Driving in town makes me so nervous! I'm very careful, but sometimes, the people behind me want me to go faster! Yes, there are more cars on the road than when we were young! The population around here continues to grow.

  • Hello my friend--sorry I don't post more often. I will try better--I think the new Xanga is just sad--not many here any more

  • I know what you mean. No parking place nowhere, better to take the bus or tram if there is one. I take the tram often to go to Ostende.
The sun does not really rest at night....he dreams sweet dreams and we are the dreams.

    Amitié

Ps: I am not writing much the last time. Kind of having the winter blues.

  • TY so very much of your comment on TD's writing of his view of Heaven and his parents being there.

  • What beauty we see in the peaceful sunset! What job did you have previously that you had to drive so much? I enjoy driving, but not so much in large cities and in heavy traffic. I am glad for you that you don't have to drive so much anymore. Blessings to you dear Michel. ~ Love,
    Carolyn

  • Lovely sunset and they can be so relaxing. John and I seldom motor to the large cities of Spokane or Seattle. Driving is tiring, to many reckless drivers and I become a nervous wreck as the passenger. Those 2 cities are 3 hr drive from where we live. We enjoy what Mother Nature has provided us here in our beautiful Wenatchee Valley.

We are experiencing a 'no' winter. No snow., but it has been foggy, damp and overcast for near 2 weeks now. Thursday is to be a partly sunny day. I hope so. Even the huge Cascade Mountain Range is lacking very much snow. That indicates that all the vallys will be thrown into a terrible drought and that isn't good for the fruit growers. We pray for friend and family that live on the east coast of the US as they struggle with the terrible cold winter.

You and Janine have a wonderful weekend and always enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer us. Take care my friend love Marilyn ''thistlepatch''

  • Toute vraie cette description du trafic actuel ...
et chance qu'il nous reste la nature pour retrouver le calme.
