Blessings for the new year
Mon Dieu , bénissez la nouvelle année
My God bless the new year.
At the approach of the New Year I got a remembrance of an old song coming from my childhood . Probably my mother sang it or is it at her village 's church?
I recalled the melody of the chorus and the first words that I typed on Google . I found immediately a video by a Quebecer singer with the words in French .I tried below to translate roughly in English . If you see mistakes , please tell me.
For the first time I have been unable to post a video on Xanga ( I had succeeded last October ). I would be grateful if a friend led me on the good way . For the moment you have to click on the link below. ( it works well )http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CL5Fqr36Oi0
My God, bless the new year,
Make our parents and our friends happy.
This year is yours and is given to us
To deserve the Paradise ( bis )1
The predestined man did not get life
To attach his heart to the things of this world
But as an exile to tend to the Fatherland
Without stopping .. (bis)2
Who is able to know how much time
The future gives him to get the heaven?
We see the dawn of the New year ,
Will we see its end ? (bis)3
Bless it, O Lord , that new year.
May your heavenly love give it its daily charm
And not any time lost, nor profaned hours
May come stain it (bis)4
Bless our parents, our fathers and mothers
Our brothers and sisters, all those we love
Keep from any misfortune these friendships so dear
We dedicate all of them to you. (bis)Happy New Year ! Bonne année!

Very lovely post today.
What a beautiful song, Michel! Those from our childhoods seem to stay with us all of our life!
I will click on the link and listen!

Happy New Year to you and your precious family, Michel!!!
HUGS, too!!!
PS...I left a comment on your last post related to posting videos on Xanga 2.0.
I think I just figured out the video thing...
Under a video on YouTube click on "Share this video"...when a link appears in the box, copy and past the link onto your "page" where you are writing a new post. See if that works! It worked for me!
HUGS!!!
Michel,
I had quite a bit of difficulty in posting my videos at first, but I think I have cracked the code!
I just copy the web address directly into the post and somehow it works.
Upload the video to YouTube and do not try to embed the video the normal way. Just copy and paste the web address of the page. i.e. http://fauquet.xanga.com/2013/12/30/blessings-for-the-new-year/#comments (the web address for this page). Let me know if this works for you.
I did what you say, John, but It does not work for me . I get in my page the dead link such the one you write in your comment . I will try again.
Happy New Year! Let's make it a good one.
the song is in French. LOL
The singer has a wonderful voice - even if I don't know French! I hope your New Year is filled with all kinds of goodness and happiness!

Thank you for understanding why I write about our son. It will be very hard for me as well in Jan as the anniversary of his death approaches.
Blessings in the New Year to you and your family...I like this song, and I understand the problems posting things to this new Xanga. I have not posted much because it is a challenge for me to remember how to do it each time. I wish you peace and good health in 2014, Michel.
That was just precious! I hope you and your family have a wonderful new year!!
Yes, we are exiles. I feel that every day.

Happy New Year Mornin Glorie...the song was beautiful! I've had 9 days off for Christmas and New Year, Christmas was lovely at our house with all our children at home, New Years was rather quite because all the children had plans to ring in the new year...but the quite was nice as well! being off for so long has me behind in my end of the year and beginning of the year work but I did want to come by and thank you for being such a good friend and to wish blessings to you and yours in 2014! ilym
My beloved friend, Michel… I would love to get the link to that video on YouTube so I can hum the tune and read the words. You always come up with something very, very special and today was no exception. Happy new year, my friend!
I found it upon your post and played the beautiful tune... What a wonderful spirit you have and what a wonderful life! Thank you for this post as it is just what I needed.
Your card came and brought tears to my eyes, Michel. I spent Christmas in bed. I am much better now and I had good news today in that the clinic is going to help me with my medicine. That is so good.
Michel, thank you for worrying. You realize how few do. I need to do more posting as I did long ago.
Please give Janine my love. I did send a card. Very, very late!!!!!
Love
Bev

I will delete the comments from my blog if you like, but I want to do so without causing you to feel offended.
