       Hier,  Mardi 3 Décembre c ‘ était le 7…ème anniversaire de Janine . Nous fûmes dans un restaurant à 13 h environ pour un bon repas accompagné de Champagne et de Bordeaux . J’ai raté ma photo car les joues de Janine étaient rouges ( à cause, bien sûr,  des lumières mal placées et trop fortes ). Après quoi nous avons pris un bon bol d’air en nous promenant dans le marché de Noël et dans les halles où je pris la photos du siècle, ci-dessous . Bon anniversaire, Janine!

       Yesterday ,  December 3, it was  Janine 7…th .birthday . We were at the restaurant in Amiens Centre around 1h pm for a good meal with champagne and wine of Bordeaux . I missed my photo at the restaurant as Janine had red cheeks ( because the  misplaced lights  of course ;-) ). Afterwards we took a bowl of good air in strolling among the Christmas market and into the halles  ( a permanent market of fresh produces ) where I took the photo of this century above ! Happy birthday,Janine !

    Dimanche  dernier après-midi nous sommes allés à l’ hôpital de Boulogne à 110 km d’Amiens pour voir notre fille aînée Carole ( mieux connue sous le nom de la Duchesse ) qui avait eu une opération  de la thyroïde deux jours avant.. La thyroïde a été complètement enlevée. L’opération s’est bien passée mais Carole a perdu du poids et des forces à cause de son hyperthyroïdie. Maintenant les choses vont s’améliorer progressivement . La photo ci-dessous montre  la Duchesse dans son lit « ducal » à l’ hôpital avec son chevalier servant Thierry D.  Elle est rentrée à la maison ce hier Mardi après-midi . Elle a accepté d’être prise en photo parce qu’elle est gentille. Bientôt je la photographierai sur son cheval.

    Dimanche  1er Décembre 2013. Carole deux jours après son pération à l' hôpital de Boulogne.

      Last Sunday in the afternoon we went to the hospital of Boulogne sur mer, 62 miles far from Amiens to visit our oldest daughter Carole ( better known with the name of the Duchess ) who got surgery of the thyroid two days before . The thyroid has been removed . It was time . The surgery went well but Carole lost weight and feels weak , but  this was due to the over active thyroid.. Now all of the things will be improving progressively. Here is above the duchess in her “ducal” bed at the hospital with her knight Thierry D. She went back her home yesterday Tuesday in the afternoon. She agreed to be pictured as she is kind. Soon I will picture her being  horseback.

  • I'm so happy she (The Duchess) came through her surgery well and is going home! A happy birthday to Janine! She is beautiful and doesn't look old enough to be in her 70s!! I know women in their 50s that look older than she does!

    I'm so glad to hear that Carole's surgery went well and is doing better now. I had hyperthyroid too at one time, but instead of surgery, I took a swallow of radioactive iodine, to destroy my thyroid, and then have since that time taken a small pill of thyroxin daily, and been just fine. :-)

    I'm glad your daughter's surgery went well. Our darn thyroids cause us a lot of trouble! I've been on my medicine for about 6 weeks now, and I feel pretty good.

    Our daughter Valerie is traveling to Paris today. She and her husband will be spending 3 weeks in France. She was worried about learning the language. Everyone advised her to not worry, to speak English.

    I bet Carole is thankful that her thyroids have been removed....With medication, she can now live a normal life....

    I had the same problem, but with under active thyroids, causing me to gain weight....Now that I'm on medication, I've been losing weight, it's gradual weight loss, and I'm feeling much better now....

    My prayers go up for her to have a complete healing from the surgery.....

  • A very happy birthday to Janine. My father's birthday also is the 3rd of December, and he would have been 101 years old yesterday if alive.
    I am glad the Duchess came through the surgery so well and is now home and recuperating. Best wishes to her for her speedy recovery. I think she and I share our birthdays.

Next April the number 70 will be my number for 12 months. lol. It is very cold here in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) Friday night low will be 4 degrees. All cold air coming from Canada.   • I'm glad I gave you a smile! :-) In France all those huge old buildings probably do cost a lot to heat! I wonder if there are 'winter' quarters that you can narrow down to a few rooms and save on the heating costs? Maybe you just bundle up? Here we have a lot of wood burning stoves we use. Someday we want to get an outside one to warm the house. Blessings on your week-end!

    Also, I have been in the hospital many times and I am alive because of them. I have been treated wonderfully.

  • En tout cas, Janine n'a pas l'air d'être trop attristée d'ajouter un an à sa petite banque annuelle. :-) Je lui offre mes meilleurs voeux d'anniversaire (en retard, je sais :oops: ). J'espère que Carole s'est bien rétablie. Je fais moi aussi un peu d'hyperthyroidie mais c'est stable depuis bien des années. En fait c'est plus un nodule qu'une hyperthyroidie. Je n'ai donc pas de symptômes de dérèglement comme Carole a dû subir. Elle va sûrement se sentir beaucoup mieux. Regarder le comptoir de la boutique Sucré/Salé donne faim! :-)
