mais ce matin la météo m' obligea a déneiger à la pelle puis au sel la cour, l' entrée et le trottoir  J ' ai rarement vu tant de neige à Amiens :20 à 25 cm et 80 cm dans les congères contre le mur et la grille.
N ' ai-je pas toujours dit que le coeur ne vieillissait pas ?

But ,this morning , the meteo forced me to schovel then to salt

 the back yard , the driveway and the sidewalk.I have rarely seen a such amount of snow in Amiens ( Picardy, France )

Après quoi je dégustai

 un excellent repas préparé par ma douce Janine: Coquille St Jacques, Palleron de boeuf avec patates douces en purée, tarte au chocolat . Apéritif: mousseux d ' Arbois ( Jura 1998) puis Puisseguin St Emilion et après le café: cassis de Dijon ( quelques gouttes )

Afterwards I enjoyed a excellent meal prepared by my sweet Janine . But here I am unable to translate in English because a French meal is only said in French .Please read above . I can only say it was tasteful and the drinks started by a wine with bubbles from Jura (Arbois 1998) since PuisseguinSt Emilion and at last after coffee some drops of Cassis de Dijon.

L’ escalier

  Beaucoup de gens venant chez nous admirent, non pas moi, mais... l'escalier. Ils disent que cet escalier  a un style particulier (il a été construit comme la maison  dans les années 1930).. Il leur semble assez original  et il est entièrement fait avec un bois d’une  couleur chaude . En plus on se demande comment il tient debout depuis le rez –de- chaussée jusqu' au deuxième étage. puisqu'il n' y a pas de pilier . Un menuisier professionnel vint une fois chez nous et nous a dit que c 'était du beau travail . Il nous avait expliqué le système de fixation mais nous l'avons oublié.
  Mon bureau personnel est au premier étage , je suis donc souvent dans l' escalier . Il y a 20 marches du rez de chaussée jusqu' au premier étage et autant pour atteindre le second étage.  Il y a des moments où on a besoin de reprendre haleine . Je ne le monte plus à toute vitesse . C ' est un peu comme l' escalier de la vie, marche après marche , année après année .

  Many people coming at our home are admiring, not me,  but the ...stairs ! . They say that this staircase has a particular style (it was built like the house around 1930)..It seems for them rather original and it  is made entirely with wood with a warm color. In addition you wonder how it stands from the ground floor up to the second floor since there is no pillar. A professional carpenter once came here and told us that it 'was a good job. It explained the mounting system but we have forgotten.....

   My personal  office is at the first floor, so I'm often on the stairs. There are 20 steps from the ground floor up to the first floor and as much  to reach the second floor. There are times when I need to take my breath now and I am slower than before . It is a bit like the stair of life, step by step, year after year.
