Janvier a été difficile ici en particulier au cours de ces deux dernières semaines. Nous avons eu beaucoup de neige. Les routes étaient dangereuses et sur le trottoir le long de la rue et aussi dans notre allée, nous avons dû déneigé à la pelle plusieurs fois, comme vous le savez
Mais ce temps nous donne parfois étranges impressions. D'abord il y a la couverture blanche qui étonne toujours nous et couvre l'ensemble des choses. Mais dans la nuit du 25 Janvier, c'était la lune presque pleine et j'étais à la fenêtre pour fermer les volets. J'ai eu un choc. Tout était éclairée. La neige dans notre pelouse devant , était jaune et avait le bâtiment autour avaient une couleur spéciale.
C'était comme un poème et je pensais que c'était pas trop mal de voir un clair de lune par une nuit pleine lune sur le paysage enneigé. Mais c'était trop poétique. J'ai vite réalisé que c'étaient les nouvelles lumières de la rue qui donnaient cet étrange effet.
Avons-nous encore le droit de rêver à un clair de lune à, minuit dans la neige?

January has been hard here especially during those two last weeks . We got a lot of snow. The roads were hazardous and in on the sidewalk along the street and also in our driveway we had to shovelling many times, as you know
But this weather sometimes gives us strange impressions . At first there is the white blanket which always amazes us and covers all of the things . But in the night of January 25 , it was almost full moon and I was at the windows to close the shutters . I had a shock . All was lighted . The snow in our front yard, was yellow and the building around had a special color.
It was like a poem and I thought it was not too bad to see a moon light in a night of full moon over the snowy landscape . But this was too much poetical . I realized quickly it was the new lights of the street that gave this strange effect .
Have we still the right to dream to a moon light at, midnight in the snow ??

Et quand elle fond, la neige peut montrer ses dents donnant un spectacle fascinant. C’est beau mais quelque peu effrayant . Et maintenant la neige est partie. En ce moment le climat est vraiment très changeant , avec variations brusques de température

And when the snow is melting it shows its teeth in a fascinating way. This is beautiful but a bit frightening .Now the snow is gone. At this time the weather is a roller coaster with quick ups and downs of temperature, as @underused says !
