  • Conductor of choir ‘ s funny attitudes

Conductor of choir ‘ s funny attitudes.

English version after the French texts . Click on the pictures or the snap shot to enlarge .

I was asked to conduct a choir for a wedding last July 28. During the rehearsal a mischievous singer took some photos of me .
I  laughed at watching those photos . I have been surprised by the quick changes in the physiognomy and attitudes that we have when we conduct a choir .
They express well the variations of the state of mind and the emotion .

  • Your choir members look like they are trying very hard to sing well. Great photos!
Thank you for welcoming me to virtual France. I feel very "at home!"

  • You did such an excellent job--cheers to you!! How lovely they asked you to conduct--have you done this before?!

  • Wonderful to see a maestro at work.

  • Number 4 is my favorite. You look very happy and handsome! The church building is very beautiful.

How is your garden? Is anything still growing?

  • Bravo! Christine

  • Singing at a wedding! How exciting!
M You are the wonderful Maestro Fauquet!!!

The church is very pretty. very ornate inside.
It must be old. we do not have many old churches here in the US

    Happy Day

  • LOL. You look like you are having the time of your life...

  • You look like a musical professional.....and LOVE the gray suit.

  • Conducting a choir can be difficult at times - that's what Frank used to say ! Like you, though he enjoyed every minute , as these photos show your enthusiasm for the " job " If I get married again will you lead the choir for me ????? Worry not. I have no plans for the forseeable future Seeing the photos has brought back happy memories of the special Mass we celebrated with you and Janine. Marie

  • That sure looked like a lot of fun.  I enjoy seeing all of the different expressions on your face!  You really are enjoying yourself!

    <3,

    Aubrey

  • I think you must have done a great job in conducting the choir. It appears that you really put your all into it. I love the different expressions on your face. Like they say, one picture is worth a thousand words, and these pictures do tell it all.

I was compelled to sing along with you, even though I did not know what you were singing. I know I would have enjoyed being there just to watch you perform and listen to the beauty of the music. The smile on your face tells it all. I am sure the newlyweds were happy with your performance on their special day.

A nice blog that puts a smile on my face also.

    Love Edie Rose

  • Ahhh, Michel, a teacher's expressions...intense, caring, earnest and encouraging...I bet you never saw yourself photographed when you were teaching?  I would have been priviledged to have taken a class or two with you...what did you teach?

Thank you for the tea link, it is truly a great site!  A friend just brought me some tea from a shop in Seattle...it is dark and rich and smells heavenly...I'm afraid I'm addicted and must order more soon!  I need your advice, please come to my site soon?

    Love and hugs, dear one...Lowie

    P.S. You are so dashing

  • Very interesting photo series, Michel!  Now, to add the recording of the music to your site!!

  • It would have been wonderful to be able to hear the choir, but the pictures are SO wonderful, music truly brings you joy and the proof is in the pictures.

  • The couple were very lucky to have you as their choir master, I am sure they were very pleased with the music. It is a lovely church, it looks quite small so is it a country church? I have to say the choir master looked very smart in his suit and braces

  • Great smile! I'd sing well for that too!

  • Your waving hand appears transparent.  It's good communication (and it is also entertaining) to make expressions with our faces.  Do I see Janine in the chorus?

  • Bravo. What would we do without music?

  • what fun...I love the pictures! I

  • what fun...I love the pictures! I can

  • You are a man of many talents Michel in these photo's you are having fun it shows.  Shirley

  • I didn't know you had expertise in conducting, Michel!! I love all the candid photos of you here. It would have been lots of fun. I'm sure the wedding guests would have very much appreciated your efforts!

Thanks so much for your very caring comments on my dog, Michel. I know you've experienced the same as me with this.

  • What a grand time! I'm sure the choir did well under your direction.

  • Misseur, you are the cutest. I bet you are a lovely conductor and fun to sing for! Not all conductors are so fun you know.

  • I looks like you thoroughly enjoyed doing this.  Love all the pictures, but especially the "happy" one with your hands on your hips.  You certainly have many talents my friend!!  Nancy

  • Thank you for your birthday wishes!

  • I enjoyed looking at your church as well as looking at your mobile and expressive face in the pictures.  I'm sure it was beautiful!  Interesting decorations on the pews - and are those members of the wedding party in the doorway?

  • Too bad there isn't sound to go along with the pictures.  Being in a choir is such a wonderful thing but leading a group of people in unity and beauty of song...that is truly wonderful.

I think I see Janine in the front row ??

    You have a wonderful smile.

    votre amie,

    Francoise

Although I am not musical, I deeply enjoy good music.  I know that what gives me great pleasure, represents hard work and diligent practice.  I am impressed that you appear very relaxed as you work with the choir to produce the best results.  I am sure that the couple getting married were blessed to have the choir's music as part of their wedding.

  • How beautiful....a choir at your wedding!

Hope you are having a great summer.

    Karen

  • Michel, you have the most wonderful smile! I can see how much you enjoyed yourself ~ great pictures!

    Love, Aimee

  • What an honor it is to be asked to participate in a wedding ceremony. The happy couple must think highly of you! You look as though you are having fun. Nice pictures.

  • Bravo ... it had to be wonderful.  The photos just shine with your enthusiastic desires for everything to go well.  With such a conductor, how it is possible for a choir to fail?  It isn't.

Bride, groom, conductor and choir triumphant!!

  • I am beginning to lose my french because I do not use it. I think this is so sad.. I barely can read what you have written. I still try when I am reading your posts though. I love the church.. everything is always so beautiful in France! I wish I was there and not in America!

  • What a full and enjoyable life you live Michel  ---I admire your talent  Ron

  • michel, you seem to be doing well! music is indeed rewarding. take care!

  • regarding your comment...I have 4 sons. Their ages are BigEggo is 15, MidEggo is 11, LilEggo is 5 and WahEggo is 3 (he will be 4 next month)....in that video that was MidE and the kid from the neighborhood (the one that wanted to keep cleaning for me)

  • RYC: About Teresa of Calcutta, I believe the same "contradiction" as you: that she struggled and asked for prayer proved she had faith... if she did not, she would have quit!  Press on, my friend!

  • Thank you, dear Michel...I believe I will give things more of a chance...I have a 3rd date this weekend...I do enjoy our conversations, and we have much in common.

Lotsa love, thinking of you...really love the 4th pic of you...it is sooo cute!

  • I love my garden as I think you do. It affords me many of hours of pleasure. It also provides lots of yummy food. I love to make the soil richer. The soil here is a bit worn out as there used to be truck gardens here. The small plot I am preparing now had a shed on it. I will plant beans and peas on it next year as it puts nitrogen in  the

soil. Soil that has a lot of organic matter in it grows larger better plants and veggies. I like to garden as you can tell. Judi

  • I LOVE the pictures, Michel!  It shows some seriousness, but I think also the fun of what you are doing.  I did enjoy singing in the choir, but I haven't done it in at least 7 or 8 years.  - Rachel

  • What a wonderful idea for a choir to sing at a wedding.. not something we do here in the States. I love music and I am sure that you only wanted the BEST for that day.. Congrats!

  • Bonjour Michel!

I love the pictures of you smiling!! I would have loved to hear your choir.

In reference to a comment you made on one of my previous posts... sorry about that, there was NO real hitting. I was just quoting an old song and an old cartoon to make the point that I was tired of rainy days. That's all... silly writing... :)

    see you later

    Patricia

  • Marvelous, friend Michel,   you are an imposing figure as a choir leader and I would proud to sing for you.

That is,  I would be so proud,  if I could only sing.

What a remarkable record of your experience those photos are.

  • cher michel, of course you're on the list! that's why you could see the slideshow and the blog! you'd be one of the first, silly michel!

  • Ive always enjoyed watching the conductor whether in orchestra or in choir. You seem to enjoy what you're doing Michel. Maybe someday you can link a recording of the choir singing, id like to listen to that. Thank you for dropping by and for your comments. Yes i am indeed still very tired and i hope ill recover soon from the jetlag Hopefully next week ill get some photos posted on my blog. I must say so far we were blessed with good weather when we were in the UK and in Spain. have a good weekend!

  • RYC - I will fix the names, Michel. - Rachel

  • RYC: That church dates from the 15th century on that site, it's register begins in 1559 though. It was originally nearer to the sea.

  • Thanks for the comment Michel --as to how I am --tired but pleased  as the weather has turned dry warm and sunny

After the most awful summer we are enjoying an 'Indian summer'   and a chance to get the garden into shape before winter arrives.  Hence I am tired but can look at the plendour of our garden for once.

I am what is known as a Happy Bunny   { Rabbit]    My Regards  Ron

  • That fourth picture is my favorite. It seems to capture you and how you embrace life in general.

  • looks like you did a good job michel

  • I thought you were a professor. Are you a conductor too? Is music what you teach, or is it just a hobby? The pictures caught your various moods very well.

  • Looks like you are having fun. Thanks for the encouragement with my gardening. Yup all work loved or not makes us tired and takes energy, but when I write hours can go by and I don't even notice. Judi

  • Felicitations pour le chef de le choeur!!!  I remember well the "fleur de Besançon"--merci pour le souvenir!

  • Hi Michel:  I'm not back to posting yet just visiting today.  I won't be going to England until August or September of 2008.  Had to change my trip because Alan and his wife were having a family problem worked out for the best because the money exchanged dropped and not in my favor maybe it will be better next year.  Shirley

  • I made that picture my default profile picture for you!

  • You look like you are having a marvelous time.  It always makes you laugh when your caught in "action" doesn't it...I have only the one child.  Tere' just turned 18 and is now a young adult.  But in many ways she is well beyond her years.  I think that I am not an Angel as much as I'd like to be a better person.  Have a great day Michel.  Hugs, Sassy

  • Michel! RYC: Thanks for the link! You show me some of the coolest things!

Your choir pictures above remind me of the pictures of Cooper on Labor Day... I printed them out and made a flip book, when you flip the pages very fast it looks like he is dancing! It would be fun if some one took a bunch of pictures like that while you were conducting...

Hope all is well in your part of the world! Hope the spider didn't scare you!

    Be safe. Ang

  • hi michel!! i feel horrible because i hurt my sweet birdie pippen! i'll have to update my blog but i'm so sad! plus i want to take him to the vet but it's très cher! so we cannot afford to, michel! i don't know what to do!!! oh and also i found out that i have worms! hehe i have to update my blog to tell it all....but i wanted to say hi to you!! angela

  • wow, you are a man of many talents!

  • J'aime chanter.

    Bon weekend, mon ami!

  • Leading a choir becomes you! Hopefully you did not have any loud off key singers to reckon with!
You do have a beautiful smile Michel !

  • Regarding your comment: Thank you, Michel!

  • Trust, in love, is so important!
    , Laurie

  • You look as if you truly enjoyed this. Do you have a choral conducting background??

    Thanks for sharing.

    Christy

  • You are so handsome in those pictures. You are right the relationship between human's is complicated but it helps me to remember what I do to someone else I do to myself. For we are one. Judi

  • How much fun, Michel! I must admit, you are certainly looking very fashion-forward in your bright suspenders! Thank you for the birthday wishes. I share my birthday with my daughter (she'll be 12) and with my parents' 50th anniversary. I'm putting on their party, and there are only a few details to attend to before the 16th. It will be a very elegant luncheon!

and I will be so glad when everything is over!

  • I just found you through my good friend, JulieBaby. You live in France! And you post in both languages! Oh! I will have to subscribe and brush up on my very rusty French. Where in France are you?

  • Great stuff.  Yep you and I have so many faces.

The oldest just brought back so much stuff that

thirty two loads of laundry is nothing.

Gotta go back to work I will check on you in a little bit.

  • i always like to see your smiling face, michel! so handsome!! hard worker, too! ryc, i updated so you can read about my worms and my poor pippen! angela

  • Hi Michel! What great photos. You do look like you're having fun. :)

  • Hi again, Michel! Thanks for writing back. (woodnymph) :D

  • Michel!  You are definitely a man of many talents and faces!  I love the pictures of you and the different poses that were caught unawares!  Those kind of pictures are sometimes the best ones!  You show a serious side and yet the fun side too!  I bet the choir was all eyes on you!  ;O)

The church...ohhhh the church is beautiful!  I bet it was a lovely ceremony and to have a choir...I can just imagine the beautiful sound echoing throughout those walls!

With fall quickly approaching...what things are you doing with your garden now?  Do you do anything to prepare for the winter and next growing season?  Ours is almost finished.  We have several tomatoes still producing along with green peppers and that is about it.  :O)  I would have like to have started a few winter vegetables but with Blaine so busy with writing and me with the children's schooling...I think it is best to wait until spring!

My love to you and Janine!

    xoxo Cat

  • Thanks for dropping by my site! Yes, I do love French! I minored in it in college....but it is sorely limited due to disuse. I taught this beautiful language to my oldest daughter, (at least I got her started!), and she too has a minor in it. She is nearly fluent. She's been to Paris and spent several months using it in Morocco. I have friends in Paris and Lyons, but unfortunately, I don't even have my own passport! Maybe someday! I will enjoy reading your blog. :)

And yes, I do love nature and God. I've been a follower of Jesus for nearly 36 years now. He just becomes more and more dear to my heart.

    Blessings to you!

  • Thank you so much for your nice comment on my LittleE site.  Your words always buoy me up and I can always use that.  You have no idea how much it is appreciated.

    My best regards,

    Becca

  • Maestro, je vous salue. (Maestro, I salute you.)

  • Bonjour mon ami,

I just came by to say "merci" for the reference to the Navajo friend's website.  She is fascinating.  Wish she could write more but I understand.  I will read her when she posts.

I also wanted to tell you that I had taken a break from our own church choir for awhile but I'm looking forward to going back into the choir.  It's a wonderful and joyous fellowship to sing together with a happy group especially when we give praise to our Creator and Lord.

    votre amie

    Francoise.

  • ! How wonderful!! It looks like you all had a wonderful time! I used to sing in choirs, and seeing these photos makes me miss it! ;)

    Take care!
    Rita

Comment-dirait-on cela?  Nous discutons Simone Weil qui disait que "whoever said brute force can't kill an idea was wrong."  Or something like that.

  • How nice to get new pictures, and relive the pleasure of making beautiful music! Do you sing while you're conducting? I'll bet it sounded wonderful.
Your smile of encouragement for the singers reminded me of something our director used to say--He said he would smile and look affable while the audience (our friends and relatives) was looking on, but later, after the program was over, if we had made a mistake, he would wrap his baton around our heads. You wouldn't do anything that extreme, would you?
Well, it made us laugh, and forget our nerves, so it was a very effective little speech!
Thanks for sharing the pictures. It's always such a pleasure to see you--and I can almost hear the music, just looking at your face!
    Joy

  • dear michel, no, i sprayed the birds before i accidentally stepped on poor pippen. also let me explain how to read protected posts. i didn't say anything on my public post about my worms. i explained it in my protected post.

to read the protected posts i did, you go to read your subscriptions and click.then you will see public posts, protected posts, then photos, videos, audio, and pulse. you click on protected posts, and you should see my blog there. that is how you read protected posts. i don't tell everyone everything in my public posts. i don't want everyone knowing about my worms! so you can check in the protected posts for my blog, michel! angela!

  • ryc, i don't understand why people want to do a private post when only they can read it! why is that???

  • It must have been lovely!

RYC: Yes, I do homeschool my children. Once a week we meet for classes with other homeschooled children. We feel blessed to be able to have this lifestyle.

  • what fun you had.  I can see by your face.  It is an enjoyable time for everyone. The wedding ws funt oo I am sure.  Me, no I am far from an ange...just a daughter...thanks for the comment though...keep "feeling the music"...hugs, Sassy

  • Oooh Michel, I love the candid photos.  They express your sincerity so well!  Your pleasure and satisfaction...too.  Isn't that just wonderful that someone thought enough to "capture" the moment and present you with those photos.  That's artistry!  That is also love.  How blessed you are!

Also, the little bit of the Church I can view is absolutely beautiful...absolutely.

Thanks for your warm welcome back....and indeed, it's so good to be home again.

    GraceAnn

  • Hi Michel, yes it is a picture of me...not a very good one I might add...lol...hugs, Sassy

  • RYC: Only through Xanga. I'm subscribed to her.

  • You are a conductor?  What a gift! Was the wedding held in the place you are practicing?  A very pretty church.

  • Hi Michel,

KOA = Kampgrounds of America This is a chain of campgrounds which are found across the United States. They have high standards of cleanliness and must have a certain number of restroom and shower facilities and dumping stations for recreational vehicles (motor homes). People who camp in tents or have pop-up tent trailers or who have motor homes can be assured that they will find a decent and clean campground to stay in when they look for "KOA" campgrounds.

I hope that tells you what you wanted to know. :)

    christy

  • Also,

a "dude ranch" is a vacation place where people can go to ride horses, go on hayrack rides, go on trail rides and breakfast rides on horseback. Often, these locations are real, working ranches which also raise cattle and/or horses for profit.

I hope that I've explained this well enough..

Feel free to ask me more questions, Michel.

    Christy

  • Michel,

Here is a website which describes the activities available for people who wish to vacation on a "dude ranch".

    http://www.bitterrootranch.com/

Hopefully, this will give you a good idea of what happens when people go to a dude ranch for their vacation!! :)

    Christy

  • Hello sweety hope all is well with you and yours God Bless.

  • Amusantes photos!

    Amities, Isabelle

  • I did not know that you conduct choir. You are a man of many talents. Thank you for your kind words.

  • Your voices must sound like the heavenly choir.  Such a lovely way to celebrate a marriage

  • Cher Michel,

    G.Jim

  • Oh my..what a challenge! I dont have patience to conduct others... I commend you for succeeding in conducting a choir.

    Greetings,
    MJ
