Du mieux pour Marina . Marina is a bit better .
Du mieux pour Marina
Marina is a bit better
English version after the French texts .
Voici quelques photos d ' Avril dernier .
My readers remember my daugther - in - law , Marina , had a surgery on November 23 , 2006 for a lung cancer but the surgeon didn' t remove the tumor . He took only a bit of it and a first analysis showed that the cancer was very reacting to the chemo . He decided a chemo-therapy to reduce the size of that big tumor . Afterwards he will remove it by a second surgery .
But the different analysis asked much time and finally the diagnose was a pleura cancer ( heart side ) . The chemo started only the first of February 2007 and it lasted over February /March ( 3 chemos ) . Afterwards she had exams at mid April . Marina felt herself less weak and she took with husband and children a stay in Britany to change their mind . Here are some pictures

And last May 2 , Marina sent to us the following message :
" hello to all ! I have just learnt by phone the results of the exams that I had . The chemo has been efficient , my tumor has diminished , not 50% but it has much diminished according the doctor . So I am going to continue the same chemo to start at the end of May ( 3 chemos ) . It' s good to keep a good spirit !
Thank you again for your support "
And Janine and I thank you my friends for your thoughts and prayers .

The pictures are wonderful, and it looks like the change of scenery has helped them all. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL Sorry about the capitalization, but my computer likes to act up once in a while without any help from me!

RYC: La cremerie is just an ice cream place. There is a restaurant in the main part of the hotel. Years ago, they prepared a lot of French Cuisine and had a wonderful French maitre de....They have changed through the years. C'est domage! There was a French Restaurant in Mt. Dora that we always visited with mom operated by a family from Alcacia(sp) We loved and went all the time. It was a mom, dad and son. They moved to another place and finally got out of the business.
Oh...BTW: I like the results of your election.
Love,
Francoise..

I am so glad your daughter-in-law is improving. I continue to pray. I could sell my home myself I have a friend who did that, but it would take much longer. I have one realtor but she put it in a multiple listing. Many realtors are showing it. Off to apply for another job this morning. Judi
I'm very happy to hear this, dear Michel...I've been thinking of you all...and I can feel your relief all the way in Texas. The good news is, it's getting smaller...and Marina looks healthy and radiant!
Much love, Lowie

Thank you for the update and wonderful photos of your daughter-in-law. Your family is so loving and loved. Love and hugs to you all.
Jesus, have mercy on Marina and heal her! I am rejoicing with your family at the good news, and asking bodly for more. God is good.
That should say "boldly".
Oh my Gosh! That is wonderful news!!!
Prayers and Love still sent your family's way
Thank you for the good new about Marina. She is very beautiful and I am praying that the cancer completely goes away. Thank you for the update.
Blessings.
Becker
My prayers will be that she will savour life abundant... amen.
She looks good and hopefully this next round of chemo will make the tumor disappear.
What wonderful news, Michel!! I have been reading more and more about the success of making the tumour smaller and it is very encouraging. That coupled with the fact that you have such fine surgeons there. I feel very strongly that Marina is going to get completely well. Perhaps you know that my niece had breast cancer with an operation and chemo only to have a recurrance in her lung. They were completely successful in treating it. I think this will happen with Marina. She is quite lovely and your son handsome. Of course, your grandchildren are adorable!!! I read your last blog and was so happy to see Janine and the grandchildren doing what they love best, working with grandma. They will always remember this.
God's blessings be with you and your family!
Bev
Oh Michel, that is good news, and the photos are just lovely. With all my heart I hope that the next lot of chemo will continue to bring good results.
what a beautiful woman and i wish her much strength and good health.
Regarding harmony: Yes, I find it works much better for us if I try to keep everyone on happier terms. This way we can enjoy the children and grandchildren together and not be fighting all the time. We get along better now than we were together. That is how it goes.
- Rachel
What wonderful news, Michel. I have been on chemotherapy for my Multiple Sclerosis. As long as I took medication for the nausea, it helped me tremendously with my MS! Unfortunately, for this type of chemotherapy, patients are only allowed to get a maximum lifetime dosage. I've already met my limit, so I'm on to a new, (and hopefully, more effective) medication.
Good news, your prayers I hope may well have been answered.
A fine set of photos too As ever Ron
That is wonderful news!!
I hope for you she recovers. My heart melted when i read your blog. I recently lost my brother to cancer and dont envy anyone who is going through such a time with it. Your family is most beautiful and so cherished.
I can actually read about half of the french you posted although I am a little rusty.
That is a very good news. A message of hope, like the flier Jean-Baptiste is driving.
We keep our prayers for her.
It was a good idea to go for a vacation in Bretagne and thy had nice weather too.
Antoine is already building his castle.
Amitié
Carlo

Bless you...bless your family,

If I buy a duplex or a manufactored home here there will be room for a garden cannot have a home without a garden. Love to you, Michel, Judi
Wishing Marina all the best, Michel. We'll be praying she beats the cancer. She's definitely has the courage for the fight! You have some lovely photos of her and other members of your family here. Thanks for sharing them! Of course I recall Leah's age - 13. When a child achieves the age of 13, we call them a teenager. Sorry I didn't say that in my blog.
Yes, I remember what the French government's position on Iraq was at the time, but I know French people who did not agree with their own government. Sometimes I don't agree with my government neither, but I do in this case. I think I'll be agreeing more with your government now that President Sarkozy will be taking office.
Enjoy the weekend!
Michel: Thank you for your comment on my site. No, the archelogical dig wasn't "necessary" to add further proof but it did add one more item that clearly shows the people, places, and "rites" (whether they be pagan or biblical) in the biblical text were actual happenings. Unlike some "so called scriputures", archelogical digs continue to unearth proof of what is written in the biblical text.
Pontius Pilate's name was not discovered until the the 20th century. Before that dig many sceptics "knew" that he never ruled. What a shock when they found incriptions about him on different pieces of dug up antiques.
On another note, I am praying that your daughter in law, Marina, gets completely well.
I appreciate your postings very much. My daughter has been to France and I can't wait until I can go to. If it is soon then I will contact you so you can tell me what sites to see that are off the tourist path.
Blessings to you,
Becker
Thank you God. I'll continue to pray for Marina. She's beautiful for being so positive about this.
Awww! That is so sweet! Thank you, Michel! - Rachel
Je suis contente pour vous et votre famille. Bon weekend.
Anthea.xx
I am glad that she is getting better and will continue praying for her and your family.
Wonderful news Michel and Janine! I'm very happy for you and your family.
Has she considered seeking out a physician of natural medicine? I have purchased books by Maureen Salaman who is a nutritionist with many degrees. It has been worth reading for us and we have found her work to be sensible. We are in the process of making many changes to our eating habits and have added supplements. I've noticed having more energy and feel healthier. Her book titled, "Nutrition, the Cancer Answer" has loads of information. Even for people who don't have cancer, it is a good preventative guide.
Sounds like France and the US is going to be better friends. Do you like your new President? RYC: Thanks for the comment.
SUPER BONNES NOUVELLES ! MERCI MARINA
MERVEILLEUSE FAMILLE !

Best wishes for Marina and your son. I'll include her in my daily prayers.

Dearest Michel...RYC: I have many notebooks (diaries), probably at least 20! One per year, but some years, I have not kept one...I just replaced my last one in April. Happy Mother's Day to the lovely Janine, you'll have to fill me in on the festivities...I am making brunch for my mom and sister, then we are headed to an art exhibit in Fort Worth...my mom is a docent at a spanish art museum in Dallas...I'm very proud of her!

Sending you love from Texas, Lowie
The pictures are just pictures of mothers and children no one is particular. My children do not want me to put them on the internet. So I respect their wishes. Judi

How wonderful that she is making progress. Here's hoping all goes well.
That's terrific news! I hope she continues to improve & the next round of chemo shrinks it even more. I will continue to keep her in my prayers & wish her much good luck.
Spirit is everything as you well know. What a lovely family you have Michel and I am happy to hear your daughter in law is coming along so well. BRAVO! Keep up the great spirit!
As for me and mine. We are well. Mom is holding her own. My niece is to have a baby in November and if it's a girl it will be named after Mom who very much wants a girl of course. We have lots of boys and she will be adored and spoiled rotten but of course so will any baby born into this family. Mom's cancer is being held in check by an experimental drug. This buys time. It will not reduce it (not yet anyway) but surrounds it and keeps it from growing. So far so good. The other side of the drug is not good. It comes with a horrendous rash but as Mom says she is alive and with Dad. Alive is everything. But I worry as she is wasting away so small, but her spirit is alive and kicking. It is hard to watch.
We had a wonderful Mothers Day. it looked like a florist unloaded at Mom's house. We all got flowers of course.
I have had my Sister from Hawaii visiting with me. I had to spring clean to get ready for her visit. Now I need to save to go back to see her again. I have been there three times already. I love Hawaii. I have seen Maui and Oahu (She lives in Honolulu and works for American Express travel) I am ready for some ocean and tropical island fun.
My muse has left me as far as the poetry goes for now. It is not something I can force. It was something that just happened. I do need to write on the page and have been trying to decide how to continue with Slinky. Maybe renaming and doing something different I don't know.
Anyway I have written you an epic ha. Hope you and your family are all well. I know you are gardening. Dad already has tomoatoes the size of golf balls. The plants are lovely. Hope it continues this way.
You take care and you are a dear to inquire. I promise to start slinky again soon so check back with me.
Love Brenda
I'm glad that the treatments are working. She has a great father-in-law!!
Coworker bought a mattress; see my flickr in a few days for pictures of us in the mattress store!
RYC: The old dog in that car wasn't too hot, Michel. Both back windows of the vehicle were open and the day wasn't hot. You are a very dear man being concerned about the dog.
I'm really glad to hear your daughter-in-law is feeling better! And it's wonderful that she's so cheery and keeping her spirits up.
Good to hear of her progress. How could a trip to the beach NOT brighten her day ?
Our prayers will continue, of course.
My continued best wishes for Marina during her recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with her and the family. Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures, Michel.
I am sorry I have not updated in a very long time. I should do so soon. Enjoy the rest of your week, my friend.
such good news, michel
the family looks very happy there by the seaside
i wish her continued success with the chemo treatments !!!
