Dimanche dernier Janine et moi avons célébré nos 46 ans de mariage ( 18 Février 1961 ) .
Ce fut très simple : un repas à deux dans un bon restaurant près de la mer à l ' heure du midi
puis nous sommes allés rendre visite au père de Janine , 94 ans ,ans une maison de retraite non loin .
J ' ai pensé réunir deux photos de Janine .
L 'une en noir et blanc a été prise en 1960 au cours d 'une promenade dans un chemin dans la campagne . C ' est une des photos que je préfère .
L autre photo a été prise au restaurant " la Mouette " après le repas .Dimanche dernier
Janine n ' a pas beaucoup changé .
Je la vois toujours comme au premier jour .

Last Sunday we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary ( February 18, 1961 )
It was simple : a meal at a great restaurant by the sea at midday .
then we visited Janine 's father who lives in a nursing home no far . He is 94
Here is two pictures of Janine
The first in black and white has been taken in 1960 during a walk in the country side .
It ' s one of the pictures , I prefer.
The second has been taken at the restaurant " La Mouette ( the seagul ) ; last Sunday after the meal .
Janine has not much changed .
I always see her like she was on the first day .
This morning I had difficulties to get up : my body was achy and I had fever . The doctor told me it was the flu .This makes you down!
Ce matin j ' a éprouvé des difficultés pour me lever . Courbatures et fièvre ,. Le medecin a dit que j ' avais la grippe . Ceci vous abat . .

Happy Anniversary to you both. It's wonderful to know of any couple's who make it past the 5th anniversary, anymore couple's just throw in the marriage and move on, anymore couple's don't want to try and marriage though a wonderful union will face hard times that must be met head on by both. My Granny use to say you know you have found your true soul mate when your eye's remain unchanged through out the year's of marriage and you continue to see each other the same as the day you met. Janine is a beautiful woman if we were to ask her I feel certain she would say she see's you as the same as when you first met. Your marriage is one blessed by God for you are perfect together.

C'est vrai Michel, Janine n'a pas changé depuis sa jeunesse. Elle est bienheureuse parce qu'elle est restée jeune non seulement dans le coeur, comme la plupart de nous, mais aussi à l'extérieur.
Et toi aussi tu es bienheureux de l'avoir comme épouse. Que Dieu vous donne encore beaucoup d'années ensemble, en amour et en santé.
Pour ce qui concerne la grippe... cherche de ne pas la sous-estimer: nous on est trois semaines qu'on lutte avec, à tour... Lorsque je vais mieux c'est mon mari qui retombe, et lorsqu'il est mieux c'est mon tour de retomber! Il nous a fallu aussi prendre des antibiotiques, maintenant espérons d'en sortir bien. Passe une bonne semaine au chaud avec des bonnes tisanes (tilleul, thym, lavande) et beaucoup de miel et aussi du propolis (bien entendu avec les médicaments que le docteur va te prescrire!).

I believe when you truly love someone, age sort of remains in the background. The person who it is that you love shines thru to the exterior hiding changes that occur while we age. It isn't that we don't see the aging, only that the person we fell in love with resides in our memories and shines thru to the view. I can still spot John in any crowd, something about how he carries himself and it makes me smile every time. We celebrated our 39th in December and if my wish is granted we will celebrate many more. 100 would not be long enough.

Janine looks just as beautiful as she did 47 yrs. ago. And, know you are just as handsome. Janine looks very much as she did all those years ago. Wish I could say the same. I have a lot more weight on me than I did then. Janine has kept her "girlish" figure! Ken always says the same thing to me that you say about Janine---he always sees me as I was way back then. Now, THAT is true love!

My wedding is on March 31. It's not very far away now! I was looking for a nice dress in an autumn colour (I found a nice bronze one but it wasn't in my size on the rack) since the leaves will have turned in the garden that we're getting married in and I thought it would be nice to sort of match the surroundings, but I've ended up with a fairly simple cream coloured dress that is made a bit fancier by having a bit of beading on it. It's not a proper wedding dress, it's just a nice dress.

our "godbaby" is really just our godchild. her mother was my best friend growing up- we were so close we were like sisters. so when she was having a baby, she asked me to be the godmother.

Becky just found me and told me you do your blog in English, too--I'm soooooo glad because I gave up after the first two words in the first. Your last comment made me start to cry--that you still see your wife as you did that first day. I told Becky that I sometimes think my Dan sees me that way, too--to which she said "you wish!". We've been laughing on the phone over that and the story I told her about kissing Dan good by the other day--and he told me "goodby, wrinkles". I stood up, grabbed my face, said something to the fact that my face didn't have any wrinkles. It was then he told me he was looking at my neck!!! And yes, I let him live. Bunny

I think I have just had a bit of writers block lately. The winter is not my favorite season but spring is on it's way thank goodness. Mother is slowly getting weaker. He cancer is surrounded and not growing which is good but it is not going away. The drugs and chemo are making her weak and taking her immune system to zero which is just awful to witness. It is very hard to think of a parent leaving you no matter what age you are.

RYC: No, I don't suppose my painting is true abstract style, but I wanted it to fit in and suit my other bedspread. I had to take out certain features in that bedspread to include in the painting for it to look connected. As far the animal drawings go, the next painting I'm doing is a sort of abstract of two Collie dogs.
I do like to do drawings other than animals all the time though! I feel like doing some now with lots of colour and shapes combined. 
Amazing. The only difference between the 2 pics is the color in her hair

Hi, Michael. Just a quick note to let you know that a package was mailed today to your daughter-in-law. I have no idea how long it will take (let me know), but keep your eyes peeled for it. There is a part you need to play in this gift: Marina will need a small pair of scisors, a glue stick, and pictures of the things in her life that bring her joy--family, friends, pets, etc. I thought this would be something you would easily be able to collect for her. I hope that this will give her a bit of joy. Love. Bunny

Rachid was in Bruxelles all right. The guys (and the ladies) go to Strasbourg only once a month for 4 days. They go there to eat the 'choucroute' and to drink pinot noir d'alsace.
The rst of the time they are in Bruxelles to eat "french frieds" Or patat as the flemish say it or just frites.
I wonder why they call them french frieds. =-)

I love, love, love this site. I found you thru another site, also new to me. Following comments finds one in strange new places. I also have cats, two with French names Gigi and Sassy Suzette. I am drawn to things that are French. In redoing my house I was picking out new tile floors and said I wanted to pretend I lived in a farmhouse somewhere on the Medditerranean, maybe France. I now have stone floors. I have a very small vegetable garden that my gardeners made for me on the side of the house. I did have a plot in a community garden that your garden reminded me of. Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures. I have subscribed to your site and am looking foward to more of your postings.
