Welcome . Bienvenue . Photos M.fauqet End of AUGUST r 2006
Cat and " mom" in black and white
Chat et maîtresse en noir et blanc !
I have been really touched by a recent
ryoushi 's post (september )in wich she espresses her pain having just lost her rat , Riley . This white rat was a true pet , a part of her daily life . And even her mother treated the rat like " a third child " . I was a bit surprised because ryoushy is a scientist but she did not see this special rat like being only like a amount of flesh and a net of neurones . Riley the rat was someone . Riley was her companion ..And I understand the pain of Rioushi because I had the same sadness when I lost our dog as I recall below .
I know many xangans have a pet principally cats or dogs but also horses , fishes or others
Approximatively in the same time I had the oportunity to see how a cat was able to welcome his " mom " . Our neighbor has a cat .. Recently Janine and I talked to her in the front yard over the fence while we gave her some plums in a basin . And during this time his cat was standing up behind the window scratching the glass with his forelegs . I have never seen that . From a dog , yes . But such a great show of love from a cat !. His gesture meant : " come here with me , I am waiting for you ". I took the two pictures above .
It ' s why I thought to edit again below a post that I published in 2003 about our dog . Some of you know it but I think they would like to re-read . Many thing can be said about the " why " and the " how " of the pets but I have no place in this post . Perhaps can you say it ?
Notre chien ( Our dog ) Blog re- edited 21 / 10/ 2003 English version below the pictures
On l ' appela Netta .

Our dog .( blog 21/ 10 / 2003 )
A question from marion made me think of blogging about the only one dog we have ever had . It was an Brittany Spaniel called now Brittany in English . When she arrived at home , she was 3 months old . We named her " Netta " .. We already have 2 young children ( 6 months old and 3 years old ) and Janine was pregnant of the third . One of her aunts told her : " My poor Janine you are going to have 3 children and you need a dog yet ! " . Then we had again 3 children , 6 at the total ! The dog was part of the family .
Netta followed us anywhere . On the first picture we picked mussels on the rocks at the lower tide in 1973 no far from Boulogne sur mer , a harbour situated in front of Dover ( England ) . Netta was completely soaked but she was happy to be there . Look at the way she guards Janine . She was very sweet . She had a huge patience with our young children who made her nasty tricks sometimes . Never she bit anyone .
When we went on holidays in a rented house or at the hotel I asked the owner at first if he accepted dogs . If not I refused to go there and found elsewhere . Into the large car that we had at this time there was Janine , me and the six children . Netta located as she could .but never she would have missed to come . She prefered to be squeezed in a corner of the car under the children ' feet .
In her life , Netta had two litters . The first came from a bastard of street but the second came from a true Britanny .. On the second picture you see the birth of a puppy . Netta is cutting the umbilical cord . Then she cleaned carefully her puppies . She was laid on old newspaper in a shelter . The puppies were wonderful . We gave them easily ..
Netta died with a cancer in 1977 . I buried her on my own in the garden . I could not cry in front of the children and my parents in law who were there but I needed strongly . I always have her leash . And her memory .
We have never had dog since .

I love animals so much. If I could have anything in the world, I would have a whole farm not for working or for food but just for fun, for family.
Netta was beautiful. I'm sure she was just as fond of you as you all were of her.
My family has always adored animals. My two pups are my children and are grandchildren to my parents! My parents have a cat that is more like a dog, also.....such a wonderful personality!
I have a turtle now..the only pet in our household, .inherited from T4tots when her children no longer wanted to care for it. I made a terrarium for it to have a home, and it has found happiness there and grown quite a bit. Just this morning I sat watching it have its breakfast. I am not sure why God's creations can be so facinating.
I keep my the collar from my dog "Piper " that died.We have another dog,but I miss the ones I lost over the years.
wonderful memory.. I never owned a dog as a child, but right now Im building the same relationship with my black lab. In someways I think its almost preparation for raising a child
les animaux, ils sont tres mignons.
we all have fond pet memories. this is the first time in my life that i am living pet free. it is a freedom that i enjoy but i miss the companionship of a fine pet. my boss is trying to get rid of a cat for his daughter, she just had a baby. i will try my best to remain pet free, but you know how these things go. wonderful weblog, and wonderful to honor ryoushi and her wondderful rat, riley.
I love this blog! It makes me think of my wonderful dog Barron. He's so loyal to me and very protective. Sometimes he can get mean and will sometimes mistake a hug from a friend as someone trying to hurt me. He will stick his head between my feet and put himself between me and the person hugging me! It's very funny but it's neat how protective he is of me. I know that nobody will hurt me as long as he is around!
<3,
Aubrey
The cats that live here stay in the living room not in the room where I am - until Damian comes ! He is their real owner and they know it. Once he sits down in the lounge they both come in and lay at his feet. As soon as he goes they disappear back to "their" room. I guess they love hom more than they love me
We have an extensive cemetery in the garden too with everything from dogs to canaries.
Marie
I have two cats and they always greet me and talk to me when I come home. I had a dog I had for 21 years and she died four years ago. She is still missed. Judi
bonjour michel! i hope you are well
i'm ok. this post reminded me of memories that i have of my pets. at home we have 4 cats and i'm missing them very much while i'm away at college. i get to go home for a visit in a few weeks and i can't wait to see them! right now, i'm sitting in the radio station djaying. i always post my playlists because i like to get feedback from people on the music that i play. i wish that everyone could listen, but at the moment only people on my college campus can listen
we're working on getting it streamed over the internet, so that everyone in the world could listen to the shows. that would be awesome and i can't wait for that to happen! well, i have to go and play some more music. i look forward to the day that you can hear my show, but i have a feeling you wouldn't enjoy my style of music very much. hehe.

Pets give us such pure love and ask so little in return. Buttons(dog) and I have just returned from a long road trip that we both enjoyed very much. Your blog reminds me of the many dogs I have had in my life. Thanks for sharing such great pictures, (((hugs))) and smiles.......Char
A very strong bond between man and animal, I have never had a dog only cats ever since I remember, my last cat a siamese died only a few months ago, she was 19, and two years ago her friend he too was 19.I took one to be put to sleep, he had cancer, the siamese I made my husband take her, she too had cancer, she was MY cat, we all loved her. My husband came home in tears, he said that he nearly changed his mind. I don't want another animal at present, maybe later on. Animals are sincere, they give comfort, you love them, they trust you. Not like man.
RITA.
Oh, I love your pictures of your one dog, Nette. Did you give her puppies away? Another friend on Xanga has said that every pet comes with fine print that says that even though we will enjoy their company, their lives will come to an end before ours, making us sad. You know I love my ThiZbie!
You should get a new dog!!! They are such a joy!
I have cats, as you know. And Tiggerina likes to scratch on the door like that. Last night she woke my parents up.
I have had such close relationships with four-legged family members, especially "Roger," a Maine Coon cat (sort of a lynx) who was one of the best roommates ever, and "Cedes" a beautiful Calico who stayed 19 years, and now, the wonderful "Wilhelmina" - a black miniature Beagle. Family is family, no matter how much fur...
never thought about trying anew?...
Pets have always been so special to me. It is hard to replace a pet that was so loved.
Aaawwww Michel. This was wonderful. yes, pets are such lovely companions. We adore them.
My kitties are getting very old. they are 15 now!
I really enjoyed reading about your dog Netta. What a beautiful memory.
~<3 Rosemary
What a lovely photo of this cat looking out to greet! His eyes look so intent.
I can understand the loss of any pet, no matter what sort of creature. They do become very much a part of the family, and it's very difficult saying goodbye to them when the time comes. I've experienced this numerous times, and it never gets any easier to deal with.
I remember your blog on dear Netta, Michel. She obviously had a wonderul, gentle temperament.
I love the picture of her exploring the rocks with Janine in 1973.
I can understand your reluctance to get another dog after the pain of losing Netta.
a pets love is perfection!
Salut Michel,
I was very surprised by the number of people who wrote back in my blog telling me similar stories of closeness with their pets and sadness when they died. For me, it just feel strange sometimes because Riley was a rat and many people consider rats to be pests and vermins! I am glad to see that people can be close to animals.
Thank you ver much for your kinds words here. I really appreciate it.
And thank you for sharing your memories of Netta.
Beautiful sentiment, for your own beloved pet and for another...
It is always funny to see a cat act like a dog. We had a cat oh so many years ago who would go on walks with us! But he would not walk with us. He'd lag behind, then thunder past us and sit on the trail, washing himself and acting surprised to see us when we finally reached him. He was the best.
I have had many wonderful pets over the years, but for some reason, some of them just had more...personality, perhaps?...than others. They are just special. Those were the hardest of all to lose. I have not had a pet in a very long time because I think I have reached my grief limit.
You do go close to your pets. They are a part of the family. My father cried when thier dog they had for 15 yrs, was put to sleep. The dog was in a lot of pain, do to sickness. So they decided to put him asleep.
Hello Michel!! Thank you for the comment on my vacation pictures. You are right, I work a lot, but I do have a life full of love and i'm very happy! We had a great time on our vacation.
I too am an animal lover. Right now I am living back at home with my dad, which means that I live in a house with my dog, Bella, and the two family dogs, Sadie & Laney, and my cat Sandy and my brother's cat Midnight. My cat is just like that cat in the window, she will put her feet up on the window and stretch out waiting for me to come inside. She is also always in my face when I am trying to do homework or trying to sleep because she constantly wants my attention. I love all of my animals a lot but I always miss our old family dog, Sasha. She died 3 years ago at the age of 18 and she was the nicest dog i've ever come across and very protective of us kids. I miss her all the time. Thank you for reminding me how much I love all my pets!
Tres sad..........xo
Netta sounded like a dear member of your family. It would be tough to find another pet as wonderful as she was.
Great story. THANKS for sharing your story!
baby puppies~! oh so precious. we had a collie dog when I was young. she was such a good dog.
I love it when you share old photos.
~janny
I had a dog once. He dies when he was 14 and I was 15. It had to be sacriefied because it was blind and could not walk anymore. I don't remember crying more than that time... I wonder whether I'm able to have another pet...
Having just lost our beloved little Rosie...I can certainly understand how your friend feels about her Riley.
I love the pictures you took and that you noticed the color of the cat and the owner being the same!!! Please let your neighbor know her hydrangea bushes are beautiful!
xoxo Cat
I'm sorry to hear about her rat.
Pets are children. You know how much mine are like that! My Mom gives Solon his own Christmas stocking each year! She knows those are the only 'grandkids' she's getting out of me! I don't know what I'd do without Bunzilla!, Solon and Rommie, but that day is sure to come.
Thank you.
My brother's cat "knows" when he has left his work and is on his way home. It sits at the door wating for him to come in.
Personality. Each and every pet reguardless of what they are, the interaction is unique. I favor my Bob because he is a companion like no other cat I have known. Some are not replaced when lost like your dog.
Thankyou for your very kind encouragement for me to hold an art exhibition, Michel.
I do love using rapidograph pens, as the Brittany drawing is done with. My birthday is this Sunday, 24th September.
My husband and I adore animals! But unfortunately, my skin is too sensitive so we cannot keep a dog or a cat. My father kept fishes for as long as I remember. I find them extremely boring! Haha... I'm never seen cats adore their owners. They've always appear to be very self-centred. But I love to watch and play with them anyway.
I love the flowers under your neighbour's window!
aww i have never heard of a dog digging mussels. even i cannot do it. i had some pets but some of them died and then some of them got sent away... oh wellll
i loved this! i love my budgies and i am getting sad since we are about to leave for japan and china for hubby's business. we will probably be gone for about 2.5 months. so no one can give them the same care and kisses that we give them!
It is hard to loose them but then we face death in all living matters through out our life. When I lost my 2 Peke's Snowball & Misty I thought I would never want another dog but I missed the love and companionship then along came Ginx, Ginx was very special to my heart and when I lost her the emptiness hurt far worse that void she left so along came Buffy. Perhapes it is different when one lives alone, your pet just fills a big space in your life. I wouldn't want to imagine life without Buffy she makes each new day a happy event for me. When I leave and come home Angel my cat puts her paw under the front door and rattles it like she can't wait for me to open it. Thank you for sharing your story Michel.
Shirley
The picture of your neighbour's cat reminds me of my "part time" cat, who loves to play fetch
Pets have a way of working themselves into our lives - even if we try hard not to let them. We've had a mix of both dogs and cats. Personally, I prefer cats. They have their own independent lives. We had a cat named "Thai" who thought he was a dog being raised along with a puppy. "Thai" would play fetch just like a dog. When he was outside and someone walked by with a dog, instead of running away, he would "stalk" the dog down the sidewalk.
A mother tends to take in all the suffering that her child goes through with pets. It has always been hard for me. I always say, "No more pets!" And then, of course, I give in again! - Rachel
After our last two dogs I said no more. The sadness at losing them was so much. Unfortunately I adopted cats and started all over again.
Thank you for the beautiful post. I have a cat and my friend has a dog. I can't imagine life without wither of them.
love and wishes
anu
I appreciate your frank advice on my site. You are a very wise man and I value your opinion. Thank you for it.
I remember Dad digging in the garden to bury our hamster. It does teach children about life when they have animals. We have our cat now that we " borrowed" from Louise as we looked after him and he never went home. One thing I would never have as a pet is a bird as I do not like them
You already know my feeling about pets...cats, dogs, even fish(although I didn't bond with any fish)
Whenever we arrive home , we have 3 beloved friends who greet us....I love them all. JouJou, Jolie and Sasha...All 3 make our lives so rich. We have had to say good bye to many beloved friends through the years. It is heartbreaking. But we have wonderful memories.
That's alot to read......but nice dog....later
I love this post, Michel! This is a wonderful tribute to your Netta! I can understand fully the relationship and the grief you felt at the loss of her. My cats have been my companions in good times and in bad times. It's the companionship and the fact that I can sit down on the couch and they'll come over to keep me company. I don't have to talk to them--they're just there.
My old cat, the one who just had the surgery is my most constant companion right now. He jumps up on the couch and just perches on the arm, purring. He's usually a very happy cat.
Blessings!
Marguerite
Oh, what lovely memories of your dog! Cats can be either very warm and cozy, or cold and distant, no? I would love to have one, but am very allergic! Meow!!! They are so elegant, and regal...have a lovely week, we are having a cup of tea this afternoon, yes? Hugs, Lowie
Hello Michel,
I like your site. You worked hard to make it more interesting than most. I see that you have interesting life observation!
I like to write articles about God and religion on my site. I want to help people to really get to know God, especially in these troubled times. Jesus gave us a message of hope that is in the Bible: "And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then, finally, the end will come." (Matthew 24:14) (NLT) I hope you get a chance to look at them.
Try this awesome game

Sorry to hear about Netta. Why don't you get a new dog? I know pets are like family--very loved. Love, Laurie
We have 4 cats - each with distinctive personalities. One small dog - a Rat Terrier - her name is Penni.
She is still much a puppy, being only 2 years old.
This past spring I lost my Beloved Jessi. She was a very large Golden Retriever. We brought her
I have beautiful pictures of her still - and her collar.
home at only 5 weeks old - when my youngest was only 5 years old, that would have been 12 years
in October. Jessi was our friend, our guardian. She LOVED to retreive and was such a gentle soul.
It was like living with a BEAR in the house!
I still grieve. But, each day it is easier.
Your Netta was a Beautiful dog - how sweet that she still lives on through her puppies ....
I love your pet stories! I am doing fine, just very busy. Hope you and yours are doing great!
Ryc:
Hello Michel. No, Its actually a dog. Lab is short for labrador. Here is a pic of him as a puppy. Of course he is grown a lot since then. Labs grow very fast.
hi waz up girl my name is alexis emali me and enter my bowwow fan club my xanga is babynadia 45 alright halla
That is how I get through my days don't worry and don't hurry, Judi
Netta was a lucky dog to have such a loving and kindhearted owner.
And you're now on my protected list.
Just had to send a note back regarding the bread. I love to make my own bread. I make double or triple batches so that I can make little loaves to pass out to my family and friends. It is a joy for me. I love French bread, but I have not learned to make it as yet. I will. Then I will tell you how it turned out. Thank you, as always, for your friendship! I treasure it well. God bless! - Rachel
P.S. Michel, would Janine have a recipe??? I know I can look one up, but I wondered if she had one she likes to use?
Oh Michel, I feel your pain at having lost your dog. I've never had a dog, but I know of many friends who love their dogs dearly, and are very sad when their dogs pass on.
Four leggers love without complaint, give their all to their family. My childhood pet was a wire haired Fox Terrier, a true companion. Then a bit later a black and white cat, named Bedelia, she would ride my shoulders while I roamed the neighborhood. When our children were young we had a succession of cats, but just one dog, named CQ, she was run over and had a steel rod in her leg until the bone knit, consequently that leg never grew to the full length.
Still in my dreams and heart I skritch their ears and pet them.
Thanks for sharing again the story of Netta. I dont travel without my doggie, but you knew that already. I have also cried at the passing of rats--so my condolences to your friend.
what a sweet moving post! i am missing my cat lentil who died a few years ago.
Myke and I got a dog after we'd been married about a year. She died two years ago and I still really miss her. I don't know if I'll ever want another dog.
do yo like this picture better, Michel??
have a great day. love you.
~janny
The Critter Columns are what I call the stuff that Solon, Bunzilla! and Rommie report on. Cause you know they need to do something during the day while I am at work!!!! I can't get Rommie or Bunizlla! to do any chores around the house!!!
Hey, I saw a wonderful t.v. show on the Loire Valley last night. I CANNOT wait to visit France very soon. I'm hoping maybe end of next year or first of 2008 when I have all my vacation time at work built up.
I so envy you and Janine to be surrounded by such beauty and history every single day!!!!!
Hope you both are having a wonderful day!
RYC: Yes a wedding shower is a party like a baby shower. Friends and family and come together. With thier gifts for the bride to be. We also play silly games. Eat a lot of good food.
And I have never had a cat since I lost my BeBe! He was just like the one pictured above in personality. He would wait in the yard at the exact time he expected me to come home. I would put the car in the garage and come out to say hello and he would climb the tree in excitement. We did this every day when I came home from work. I still feel the love we had for each other
Lovely that you loved your pet, so many people don't, and thank you for your comments, i am not really that well, but at 82 almost 83 I am content to just amble along and do what i can .I don't think I will ever be rid of the complaints i have but why worry, i believe everyone has a time to be born and a time to die ,this week we have had 2 well known younger people die ,and they have had memorial services for them ,also so many young children being murdered by their parents makes one think what sort of world we now live in. I am glad I was young when I was ,life was much simpler and happier then. You have been a good friend to me Michel and I appreciate that. Love Marjie
Finally have a day off so thought I would come by. Judi
ryc: Yes, your daughter and I seem somewhat alike! Thanks for the teasing about the purple and the Catholic church-lol!
Dear Michael, I am so touched by the story of your dog Netta. Pets give us much love in return for just a little care and attention. I have had many pets, and faced the loss of them to old age and sometimes to an illness. However, I would write about a pet rat that was not mine. When I taught school, a boy in my class one year had a pet rat named Cheeser. He asked permission to bring Cheeser to school with him. I agreed, and his family brought a good sized cage to keep in the classroom. In it was put the things that would make Cheeser a content rat during the school day. Each morning the boy would ride his bicycle to school with Cheeser on his shoulder. They made a charming picture as they arrived at school. During most of the day Cheeser would stay in the cage. Inside the cage was an old slipper. That was where Cheeser would sleep. Then one afternoon the fire bell directly outside our classroom began to ring. It was very loud and urgent. It was time for a fire drill. The children lined up, and we quickly exited the building. After the drill was over, we quietly walked back to the room only to discover that Cheeser was in physical distress. The boy's mother was called. She came and took her son and the rat to the vet. Such was the love for this rat that they were will to pay a vet bill that would be much greater than what Cheeser had cost to purchase. The vet could not save
Cheeser. Apparently Cheeser had a heart attack due to the frightening noise of the fire bell. The whole class mourned for the friendly little rat that had lived in our classroom all year. The boy said he would never get another rat, because it was too painful to lose it. He is now a grown man who is married.
As ever, Carol Suzanne
awww...that was touching to my heart. thank you for sharing.
Your comment is so right. Judi
Good memories. Good story.
Bravo!
Michel, this is a wonderful and toouching story, and I am so sorry for your loss of Netta. She obviously was a special member of your family, and I treat our own animals (3 cats) as members of the family as well. They do show us so much love! I like dogs but I especially have a love for cats, and the one in the window is adorable!
Thank you for your patience with me - - you are right, lately I have had no time to blog. But I hope to soon. Take care and enjoy your weekend!
I remember the original post about your dog & both times it has moved me to tears. Your ability to understand other's feelings about their pets marks you as a very compassionate man.
The cat photos are very humorous. There was a neighbor of mine who had a cat(Lewis) which would do the same when he saw me through the window. I was upset when she moved away & I could no longer see Lewis.
yes! totally! thank you for coming back and commenting. i've been a bit busy and yes i take much pride in my children. they are very awesome. thanks again. take care of yourself!
Nikki
Alas, I will continue purchasing cups of Starbucks coffee and hold the cup with my pink and white enhanced nails, perhaps not so frequently! Still waiting for that cup of tea! Cheers, Michel
Thanks for commenting about my "list" blog. I like all sorts of music, too. Even some of today's music/rap! Was just listening to Frank Sinatra last nite. Great talent.
So nice of you to come to visit. Feel free to return. I'll have the welcome mat out for you!
Ton histoire du chat at de ton chien montre l'amour entre des gens and leurs animaux. Enough broken French...sorry. I have had several dogs and two cats in my life. All were members of the family. All were mourned at death. All were wonderful companions. All were necessary to my well being and good mental health. Since I live alone, I would have a very lonely life without my dog by my side. When Maggie dies, I will get another dog. I need a companion, and I have met no men around here to whom I would give that opportunity.
Michel,
Thanks very much for your thoughts on my poem-I appreciate it!
Thanks u sir....yeah I felt bad for him, I just hate getting bad grade on my test when I studied so hard for it...later
)
My son has a snail as a pet... He found her in a head of lettuce bought at the supermarket, two or three years ago, and didn't have the courage to throw her into the rubbish. When she grew, I bought her a little cage for turtles. I host and feed her when my son is away. I think that a snail as a pet is a little unusual.
Ciao again.
I've had a number of pets. uncountable.
rats, dogs, rabbits.
worms, butterflys
snakes, bugs, fish and other sea creatures.
Also a rock.
Which has run away, or been kidnapped, because I can't find topaz anywhere!!!!!!!!!
It's terrible.
It's tragic.
but perhaps he'll return.
I Will find him.
I knew I should have gotten a leash for him.
I'm not a very good pet owner in the sense that I can't seam to keep the smaller ones alive.
But pets are like friends that not only can't judge, critisize, yell, argue, or fight, but have a capability for unquestionable love that humans will never have to the same degree, no matter how smart we are.
The cat that stays in our back porch will scratch on the window to let me know she wants some attention. Mainly to be fed. Sometimes she has to wait a bit while I get Miles' breakfast ready. This kitty isn't allowed by Richard to come in the house. Frankly, I'm surprised he allows me to let her be in the porch.
The children want to get a house pet. I have to remind them that their horses are their pets, even though they cannot bring them into the house. Animals are such lovely creatures. Lovely post, Sir!
It is funny to see that picture of Janine in the sea with the dog. We saw a lot of people searching (digging)for sea food (Pêche à pied).
I think we love our pets because they have the innocence that we humans have lost.(You know, the famous history ofthe apple and the snake).
I will read your blogs other blogs later. We just got back from Bretagne.

i know the love for my animals is very strong
they are perfect in themselves - always kind and happy to see us

I just needed a little time to come around and visit. I have a lot of ideas and things to write about......Last week was just very busy...filled with all sorts of meetings etc. I just want to come around and check on my friends.
You have a wonderful day and a spectacular week ahead.
Love...
Fran
A wonderful post Michel, pets are truly wonderful. They offer unconditional love....well if you feed them lol
Some of my best friends have been dogs. Netta must have been a great dog with the children. I had a dog that didn't like my children so we had let him go. He was 13 years old. He taught our cat to knock on the door (scratch with her front paws).
Michel thank you so much for the words about Mom. She is getting a bit weaker but her strength of mind carries her through.
I have two older dogs. Welch Pembroke Corgis (The dogs the Queen of England favors) They are now twelve and fourteen. It won't be long until I too will have to deal with the death of a favorite pet. Bozworth is his name (Boz for short) I too thought that when these two go I won't have another dog. We shall see ha
that is such a sweet story about your Netta

our pets become very much a part of our families
Bonne semaine!
You are right, pets do become very much a part of the family. They are missed so much when we lose them. I have always had pets, from dogs, cats, gerbils, fish, ducks, lambs and even a pet rooster. I now have allergies and am unable to have any animals around at all.
How I miss that.
Hope you and Janine have had a wonderful weekend!!!
Love
Edie Rose
Thank you for the wonderful stories... I had not read the one about the dog... I almost lost my little dog a few weels ago... they sure are a lot of company... especially to a single person like me!! You got a great picture of the cat on her hind legs!
Pets are our special friends! Wonderful post! Thank you for your kind comment on my site !
Take care ,
Karolyn
Allison
I know my French is poor; hope you understand.
I love dogs a lot! but my mom hates them..and so we never had one
Merci beaucoup, Michel.

Michel, I really loved this post on pets, and especially your dear Netta from so long ago. My dog Maddie gives my husband and I so much pleasure just watching her play and to behave like a princess that she is. I cannot imagine how it will feel like to lose her one day but I know it should be difficult since she is so much a part of our family.
Michel, thanks for the birthday wishes. Looking at your pets, is a joy. The cat is so like my "Ginger" who has long since gone to God. The birth of puppies is so much fun. You have great memories.
i do believe some pets are old friends that we've been reunited with....reincarnation. yes....
Hahahaha.........I am glad you like the 'new me', Michel!!!
I rather like the colours of my new theme..........though i am more of a country girl than city....unless of course they include museums and art centres and so on and so forth.
I have posted my so-called IQ score.......why don't you go and have a go at it!?!
I would like to see your score...I think you would go very well.
Be blessed my dear brother......greet your lovely wife for me please.

your cat looks like mine
This is the only bilingual blog that I go to. My French was an afterthought, which I picked up in my last year of High School. I still remember the teacher,Ms. Kline, who also taught german!
The Historical House we use for our Chinees historical society was owned by immigrants who came from Alace/Sars region in the late 1800's so they are also semi-german/french too.
It is easy to love some animals, when I was a young boy we used to shoot sparrows. Did they deserve death, for pecking at our peaches, appricots and yes pears. Well Bonsoir, maybe I'll read another of your blog in the future.
What a charming picture! This is a lovely tribute to your dog.
we used to have a huge hairy dog named Ringo for a pet when i was little. he died in an accident. he was my favorite. i don't really like dogs but i liked him a lot because he's huge and very protective of us and very playful.

What a lovely tribute . . beloved pets always stay with us in our memories of them . . your blog left me feeling immersed in my own cherished memories . . . thank you for sharing.
RYC: I added you again Michel, don't know why your name came off it. Did you read about France granting full pensions for colonial veterans? I hope that effects and helps you...
