  • Parole et vie

    Word and life

    English version below the pictures

O douce maison.

                                                                                     Photo M. Fauquet Dec 2005

Last week we were not at home but in a small town by the see and once I explored the surrounding . I drove quietly on a small road bordered of hedges and trees when I was struck by this humble house ( first picture ) . I don' t know why but this kind of modest house with the smoke going out from the chimney is carved in my memories ( probably coming from my grandparents ' houses ) . The home was alone among the trees . And I was fascinated by the smoke rising between the branches . This smoke skowed life was inside the house . Life needs energy . And in this case I imagined the wood burning in the stove . I was really under the charm and I remained there during a time , very quiet , peaceful . Oh ! sweet home !

                        Photo M Fauquet  Dec 2005

Going further on my way I discovered this straight road apparently without end ( second picture ) . I was thrilled to see this . It was a real beauty ( for me ) . I was alone and wondered where this road was leading me ?. Was there an end ?

.   This road allows the access to an estuary with mud , salted marsh plants and of couse water ! In this wild place there was a kind of small car park . Only one car was there and 3 people holding buckets . It was in the morning and the température was low under 0°C . ( see the drawing )

    - " Good morning " I said . They answered kindly then I asked them : " where are you going with your buckets ? "

    • " We are going to pick up cockles in the mud into the estuary during the low tide ." They said friendly .
    • " Your hands will be frozen !! "
    • "No , we use to do that " they said and left with a smile on their face ..

At this moment two hunters come from the estuary accompagned by a dog . I get into conversation with them .

    • "Do you bring back some ducks ? " I said
    • " No , nothing , but we had a great time to breath the good air in walking in the bay .
    • " Are not you tired ?
    • -No ! We are going to eat and we come back on this afternoon . We have to understand we come from a town located to 100 km especially so we will enjoy all day ! "

We talked about the weather , the hunting etc …and they left …

Finally what do I see coming ? A rider along the estuary . It was a young horsewoman !

    • " Good morning ! You are gracious " I tell her
    • " Thank you " she answers .

And we talked about horses . I told her my oldest daughter owned carriage horses and she liked that . She smiled and left .

So in a short time in an lonely place , I had talked to three sorts of people and it was me who got into conversation with them . I had had no time to look at the estuary itself . But I had a strange feeling as in a happy dream. I am unable to explain what I felt . A kind of intense joy . The joy to talk to unknown persons . And I had seen they were happy to find someone to speak .with .

I felt as if I was more living , more human and I thought : yes  word gives life ., and even word is life.

  • Wow!  I can't believe so many people were around.  It must be a lot different than in Bellac.  It was freezing here as well, it snowed a lot on Saturday.  Bonne soirée!

  • J'AIME BEAUCOUP VOS DESSINS. JE SUIS DESOLE POUR AVOIR ECRIT MON ESSAI QUI EST POUR UN PROF ATHEIST SUR MON BLOG QUI A PEUT-ETRE ATTAQUE L'EGLISE CATHOLIQUE.

  • Thanks for stopping by!  Those pictures are so peaceful, and remind me of the countryside where I grew up.  There wasn't the rat race we have today, at least, in America.  Is life fast-paced there, too?

  • What beautiful pictures and beautiful memories.  I, too, strike up conversations with strangers wherever I go.  A smile or a kind word may make the day special for someone else.  You're definitely special!

  • I love reading your posts :) they are always so uplifting! God Bless

  • PS. those pictures that you drew are so cute!

  • I love to hear your stories and see your pictures!

    Have a blessed day!

    Michele

  • wow i love that last quote
im sure it loses some of it eloquence in translation but its still really good

  • Hello as I read I seemed to see it all through your eyes and I felt happy and I could almost smell the smoke in the crisp air you always uplift me you are a wonderful soul God Bless.

    (((((HUGS)))))

  • Bonjour, Michel!

That house and road looks like one you would come across in South Carolina in the small town that I am from. I love the country setting, as there is nothing as peaceful sometimes!

A while back you asked about lacrosse. Lacrosse is a cross between hockey and soccer. The only difference is that they play with these little balls and nets. They throw the ball back and forth and catch them with the nets, and then try to throw them past the goalie in front of the goal area. That is the best that I can explain it.

I hope all is well, my friend. God bless.

  • How wonderful to make that connection. This morning while I waited for the train a dear old gentleman spoke to me (in German of course) how I wished we could have talked. I truly miss the word connection between myself and strangers that cross my path. It can be so uplifting. You are blessed and I am blessed to know you. Thanks for sharing this little story, the wonderful pictures and your exceptional line drawings.

  • I love the photo of the old house.  It is already giving me some energy.

How about a glass of wine to celebrate?

  • Michel, I see that you are a talented artist too. I love the quick little sketches that evoke the people you met. Sometimes it is good to be out in quiet place were you can reflect on life, your own and that of other people. We all need time to be alone with our thoughts. These hectic days we seem to have less time for contemplation.- the nourishment of our souls and minds. Marie

  • Quel beau voyage! It is lovely to experience such moments of radiating, simple joy.

  • I love unexpected joy! The house and road remind me of my youth in Virginia. Very similar.

  • i love the second picture with the trees. That's my favorite type of scene: parallel trees with a path leading to unknown places.

  • What a lovely observation Michel of life How we meet some many different types of people in our daily lives. It does the heart good sometimes to go away for a few days during the winter as the countryside looks so different.

You did very well with your drawings Michel I thought it was only Marion that had the artist talent here

  • I love this post Michael!!

you have a great talent in photography!

    Happy Chinese New Year!!! *hugs*!!!

    In friendship,

    Asnhoopla

  • It sounds like you had a really nice drive.  It's always interesting to meet people on a trip.  I like your drawings of the people that you met!

  • You have the greatest stories Michel...

  • Hi Michel:  I adore the first picture reminds me of a pioneer house.  You would love our Blue Ridge Parkway, miles of road with beautiful nature, pioneer homes, old country store's untouched by modern time, Views of the mountains that would take your breath away.  My England guest loved it.  I go there when I need to reconnect my spirit in strength and to just enjoy nature's silent calls.  Shirley

  • I really like this entry.  It shows a depth of feeling and understanding.  The picture of the house speaks to me also...The first 2 pictures  are what I imagine France to be....

I imagine that you will always remember your encounter with those people!

    votre amie(is that right?)

    Francoise

  • Hi Michel, I look foward to your writings. You take time to smell the roses in your life and I like that. I myself enjoy meeting new people and starting up a conversation. I hope you have a blessed week.

  • I understand very well your "strange" feeling, mine is the same, when reading your posts... That's really incredible, Michel, but today, during a little journey with my husband, I saw a little house on a mountain, near a river.  I wished to have my camera with me to catch it and post here for you, but unfortunately I did'nt have. You cannot believe how these two houses were similar!!! If a day or other I'll go back to this place I'll bring my camera, so that you can watch the picture.
And also today the feeling was like your (bien que mélé a un certain je-ne-sais-pas quoi de mélancolie).

    Ciao,
    Annalisa

  • what a beautiful day you had. i love the pictures and the drawings.

  • Michel, this blog is one of your best! I love this old cottage with the smoke billowing out the chimney. Also this road looks fascinating to me in where it might lead. It was wonderful you met these people along the way, and had a conversation with them. Much can be learnt from just stopping and talking randomly with complete strangers!

Your drawings are really lovely! Is that a Brittany dog you've drawn? Just taking a drive in the car to somewhere unknown can lead to the most pleasant and memorable experiences in life.

  • Michel, this is a beautiful post to read today.
Your adventure to a place where there is no computers or tv or "new technology" is so lovely.
I love this very old house. When I see something like this I always wish "if this house could tell me stories, I would listen to them. I want to know the stories of the past"

I also enjoy meeting new friends that are living completely different than me. I am so glad that you do too!
    These pictures are so nice.

thank you for sharing this wonderful time with us
I hope you and Janine are well.

  • This is the most interesting post, Michel. I love talking to people as well and find them endlessly interesting and often inspiring. I so love the picture of the house. It is strange to read this for I was thinking of the house my father grew up in and wouldn't it be nice to live there now. Then I thought, "No, that is a memory to be savored, not lived." Some thing are meant to be enjoyed and not possessed. The more I read your blogs, the more I seem to know you. I am very happy that I have "met" you for you are a shining light for me!

RYC Thank you so much for the link about Provence. Also the link for books. I think I may buy one and order the other from the library. It would be very nice to visit there since I read your comments. Your country is lovely and must be appreciated to the fullest!

  • I love the picture of the little cozy house.  That would make a great subject for a painting!

The long road would have a different sort of beauty in the different seasons, wouldn't it, as the trees that adorn it change.

Sometimes I find it easier to talk to complete strangers than with people I know.  There are no expectations, and the exchange is just one of human-to-human connection.

Sounds like this "wild place" is well-used!

  • once again, what a lovely post! you are always so positive! thank you.

  • We are all relatives, we are all connected.  Perhaps these words are like spider web's strings that bind us together.  Life is such beauty.  ~ Paloma

  • Lovely photos! What a nice adventure! Going to new unknown places and meeting interesting people!
    take care
    Karolyn

  • we sometimes go and pick clams or sth during the holidays, but we never eat them. nice drawings.

  • Michel, I love to reflect on nature's beauty. It seems you have many warm, pleasant memories.
When one speaks to people, with interest and love, it is a connection of the souls. If you find joy in your fellow man, then you are closer to your God!

Have you put any of your sketches into paint forms? You seem to have a talent.

  • When a kid draws a house, mostly he draws a house like the one of your post, with the smoke coming out the chimney. The smoke is very important, it means life in the house.

In Holland there was a law that people could build a house and if there was smoke coming out the cheminee in the morning they could keep the house.( Turf houses ,very poor).

I bet that when the young girl showed up with her horse you must have been thinking " I wish I was 20 years old"

Nice happy blog, like a warm sunshine.

  • What a wonderful walk, stopping to chat, It is something  I love doing, not appreciated by my family, calling me a chatterbox, I just reply that I am interested in other human beings, so much information is gathered. I love the house with the smoke coming from the chimney. Maybe there was a grandparent reading to the child sitting in front of the fire!

  • I never thought about words that way, but you are right.  Words mean life.    Lovely pictures and beautiful words of life.  Thank you.

  • Hey, nice site :) . If you ever need anywhere to upload your images take a look at TopImageUploaders.

  • I think, Michel, you bring much joy to many people.  You have comments from all over and it is a good measure of how your pictures and words affect people.  I enjoy them as well and always look for "what is new in Michel's life".  I do love the picture of the house.  I think I would like to walk down that road.  Enjoy today! - Rachel

  • That is what makes our world so wonderful...human contact amongst nature!  Love and hope and happiness

  • oh michel, your exchange of appreciation and friendship is a wonderous and inspiring thing of love and joy. thank you for your thoughts and experiences here at xanga. that blog filled my heart.

  • beautiful!

  • I love the pictures and the conversations.  Life is energy.  Yes!

  • I love the little house and endless road! And the sketches remind me of van Gogh's early work. He would sketch pictures of nature and everything around him.

You're one of the most wonderfully alive people I've been lucky enough to know!

  • When I read your page at times, it feels like you're reading my mind Michel! You speak my mind n' touch my heart with some of your entries!=)

Our love for nature, peace, beauty and a great appreciation for ppl/life!

  • I love that house - what a peaceful scene.  The trees overhanging the road in the 2nd picture are so beautiful.   I enjoyed your drawings, too.  Have a blessed day, my friend!

  • Some of the most humble looking homes are usually filled with the most pure and gravitating of loves. Thank you for taking us on this trip with you. As always I have enjoyed my visit with you. Have a good day/evening Michel. With hugs ~ Tami

  • I enjoyed going down those country roads with you in your blog.  Wouldn't it have been an interesting experience to stop at the charming little house and visit with the family that lived there!

I noticed that another subscriber was trying to explain what la crosse is.  It is a game of ball, originating among the North american Indians, played with a long-handled racket (crosse) with which the hard ball is caught, carried, or thrown.  That is the dictionary definition of it.  My father-in-law played la crosse at the university.  It is a very physical sport with a lot of action.

  • Magnifique cher Michel !

  • I find warmth and happiness in your blogs. You are an excellent source of wonder.

  • I love that house!!!!

    Did you draw the pictures?

My oldest daughter (5 years) dreams of owning her own horse. She has told me many a time, "Mommy, I think it's time I had my own horse."

  • Michel,

You're right there is something fascinating about that house...
I also agree that sometimes exchanging a word with people ...just like that, -without a real need- ,can be uplifting and leave a sense of joy in us...it happens many times..We are blessed in that way because there are many more possibilities for us to encounter people and exchange a word--I'm thinking and referring about a European life style--

Yes word s are very powerful..(look what you can do with words)you always take me on a wonderful journey..

Words can also connect souls..even if for just a moment..If we use words with a kind heart, yes words can be very uplifting..That is why we always must be aware of how we use our tongue..It can build or destroy..What a joy for ourselves and others when we use our tongue like He teaches us..

    Again Michel..Beautiful post...
    Thank you for sharing..

    A hug,

    Lucy

  • Stop by and take a look.  I think I've got all the pieces together.

  • Such a wonderful time sharing time talking.....

  • What a delight to visit your site again. I feel much joy reading and I can imagine your encounters.
Your last comments remind me of what God said... "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us..." (John 1:14)

Oh, and I love your drawings too! Always...

  • I have always been able to tell that you really love people and enjoy meeting many different kinds of people. This post is a perfect example of that. You are a real gift to those around you!

I would love to ride my bicycle down that road!

  • I love this account of your visit to this lonesome place, and the cartoons are so charming, as always! Reaching out and speaking to strangers is itself a kind act. Your last sentence really touches me! I remember reading about a woman in Fiji (?) talking about the secret of having a long life. She said: "Treat every stranger as someone who would one day be your friend." I have no doubt you will live a very long life! Amitié xoxo

  • Je ne regrette rien. Bonsoir!
I saw your post at Knightingale's site. I love Edith Piaf! Thank you for the pictures. I LOVE that little house.
    merci
    Allison

  • Michael, Anthony is an eight year, mentally slow child.  He is the adopted son of friends.  I am teaching him at home in an effort to help him learn basic skills.  It is my hope that I can teach him to read and do basic arithmetic.  He is very motivated, but as you can imagine, it takes much repetition to learn each simple thing.

  • Such beauty to explore.  Such fun to meet others who enjoy nature, too.  You share such beautiful pictures and thoughts.  Thanks, Michel.  (((hugs))) and smiles    ~char

  • I love that second picture of the seemingly endless road, it is beautiful. what a nice relaxing day that was for you, i am envious! And once again your entry is the highlight of my week, thank you.

  • You do have a wonderful way with words and your comment on my site really lifted my spirits.  Our "youngest" granddaughter Michelle is going to have a baby in May so that will make us GREAT grandparents....Michelle was born in the Phillipines and adopted by our daughter and brought over to the US when she was 6.  She's been a real challenge but we have hope for her and love her very much.  It looks as if Michelle will be having a little boy.

Thanks again for your nice words.

I'm thinking of only writing once a week.

  • Children of Zion Behold, The Bridegroom Cometh!

It's truly amazing what is happening in our world. Never before has prophecy been more meaningful and pertinent to our daily life. Incredible prophecies are being fulfilled right before our very eyes. What a thrilling time to be alive! You may ask "why are we so excited about this being the end time?" We are excited because all of these Final prophecies whisper Jesus is coming back soon!

The Rapture is when those who love Jesus go with Jesus Christ to heaven in a Twinkling of an eye,and those left behind will be forced to think weird explanations, like the Multitudes of People who disappeared went into a ufo etc.

After the Rapture, the world will be in chaos immediately. Some people will be raptured while driving in their cars, causing the cars to crash. Some people will disappear while working the most important jobs in the country, and once they disappear, cities will be destroyed. Planes will crash, electricity will go out, and phone lines will be jammed for days.If you think THIS sounds bad, the Judgements are much worse. Dont Be Left Behind!

  • You love trees like the people of Simonville.

  • Hi Michael -- thanks for coming by again.  Regarding your comment about choir and music, I really enjoy choir, and we are VERY small.  Actually only 6 of us!  3 men and 3 women -- I'm the only alto.  How big is your choir?

  • Wonderful drawings and words. I feel inspired.

  • I love the picture of the trees bordering the avenue. We have been given such lovely words from the French. May I take this opportunity to thank you! You are a special friend!

  • I just saw the picture below, Three Girls in a Boat -- that's so cute!  Our choir sings every Sunday, so we practice every week.  We sang at two Christmas Eve services and Christmas Sunday.  We're starting to practice Easter music to decide what to sing.  Our pastor sings with us and she mainly picks out the music.  Our church and choir is so small, the women in the choir have all had their turn at "directing", which in our case is more choosing music.  We kinda direct ourselves -- the pianist says she just follows us, and we say we just follow her!!

  • Hi Michel,  I came to your site by clicking on the icon with your comment to "Farm Girl In The City".  I loved this post.  Made me feel as if I were there.  I also enjoy striking up a conversation with folks around me, with whom I'm not acquainted.

I need to go pick up some music in Springfield today, and have nothing here at home that HAS to be done, so you've encouraged me to find a country road I've never been on, and just "take a ride".    Thanks.  Take care,  GrannyHummingbird

  • I like your photos, but I love your drawings. Thank you for sharing them. I also liked the post about the cousins in the bed. Today kids don't even seem to share a room, much less a bed. I shared a room with my sister. Then I got married and shared a room with my husband. I never had my own room until after the divorce; now I have my own house because my kids are grown. Luckily I have my dog Maggie to share with me.

  • I love to talk to strangers. It is a random slice of life with a touch of adventure.

    Love,    Brenda

  • Michel, Never be afraid to ask me question and when you do never be sorry for doing so. We have 8 children and CVMA stands for Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association. We are a group of combat veterans who ride motorcycles while raising money for veterans causes.  Have a fabulous weekend. Hugs~ Tami

  • What a cozy wee house. I can just imagine the warm comfort the inhabitants of that charming abode enjoy. I remember how warm our wee house was when we heated with wood.

I also enjoy your drawings of your encounters with the folks at the estuary. Very pleasant, indeed.

  • Hello, how are you today?

Here is a legitimate site for free ipods and this site offers the newest version, the video ipod, and if you already have an ipod, you can choose the 250 dollar itunes certificate, has been proven by many news articles, news videos, and people who already got their ipods. this site is not a pyramid schyeme, and it is not a scam, if you still think that thgis site is a scam, ask yourself, would a scam have so much sites talking about it's legitimacy? stop by my xanga to get a list of sites from popular news videos and articles saying how the freeipod site is legitimate, the site is http://ipods.freepay.com/ , the site has already sent out over 13 million dollars worth of free stuff to people

The site is simple, all you have to do is to sign up for an account, complete a free trial offer, stop by my xanga, i have listed the best free offer which require no shipping(since some are free sample products) and i have listed the free trial offer which you wont need a credit card at all all you need is a cell phone! it is a free ringtone offer, after you sign up for a free trial offer, all you have to do left is to ask five of your friends or family to do the same, but the downside is that you cant refer people living in the same house as you do

and once you have refered 5 people using your referal link, the site will have this form which you will fill in your address again so it can make sure the ipod is sent to the right place, and once you do that, the freeipod site will send you the free ipod, it is as simple as that.

Have a very nice day, God bless you!!

  • Howdy Michel:  Just popping over to wish you a happy day which is almost gone here, can't believe it's almost work time for me again but on the postive side I have Sunday off since I took a vacation day and ever so glad I did since it has turned very cold brrrrr looking forward to a nice lazy cuddle up day with a cup of hot chocolate and Super Bowl commerical's    That pic of the house grabs my attention for some reason not sure why.    Shirley

  • An interesting post, and the one below, i am trying to catch up. Your  blog this time reveals the inner you, the romatic at heart, and the thinker .Thank you for this Love Marjie

  • Oh how lovely!! The house looks almost magical..so quaint and mysterious..thank you so much for posting the photos of the house and the long long tree lined road..( which part of France were you in to visit an esutary? ) I am so happy to hear your joy at immersing your self in new discoveries including the people..Some times it fills me too with an overwhelming joy to meet different sorts of people who are all very different but very friendly. Mostly that happens to me here in CA when I go to "gem and mineral shows" in Arizona. ..especially a smaller show in a tiny town called Quartzite just over the California boarder ..my friend and I who go together are ever amazed at the different sorts of people we meet..each year it seems like a theme of some sort..but none know each other ...we seem to be the only link..one year we met people from almost every religion...another year we met chair builders ...another time everyone seemed to be in various area of health care..We eventually surrendered to the mystery of those trips and keep a journal..of the interesting people we meet year after year.....Bon Chance...Mon Ami....((Wings))

  • I enjoyed hearing about your outing and seeing the drawings of it! Thank you for you illustrations. The little house does make me want to go in and warm myself...or sit outside and draw it.

  • Yes, a bit like coming to this place. Always a pleasant converstion!

    Enjoy your day!

  • Clinton while president used his power as president against women to obtain sex and also to obtain money so you can't seperate the man and the president because the man was president and used his power wrong.  It will never remain private for that reason he was taken to court for charges while president, Clinton should have held his office with grace and respect.  I wouldn't vote for Hillary because she is after power, she stood behind Clinton to save her political face.  I believe we can do better than Hillary for a president.  Much better.  She knew what he was doing all along.  No I am not a football fan but I am going to root for the Steelers since I plan to watch all the commercials.  Shirley

  • Wonderful drawings, my friend.  Since "a picture is worth a thousand words", and "word is life", therefore your drawings speak a thousandfold of life!

  • Wow, this is a long post for you.

Yes, that home is very sweet. Somday I want a sweet home with a fireplace.

The road reminds me of a road in a movie. It's always cool to find new places. What exactly are cockles? I guess I could look it up.

I wish I knew you in real life and that you were my age. I'd marry someone like you. You are such a beautiful person...beautiful spirit.

  • Hello I am  back online . I enjoyed this posting so much. The little humble house is all I ever dreamed of. I never wanted a fancy home this one here is my dream. Your drawings were very well done. I just loved all this post. Thank you God Bless

  • timeless visions and exchanges are pure joy when we are lucky enough to be a part of them and even luckier to realize how lucky we are. namaste....

  • Michel,

Thank you for sharing in my time.  Dad and Virginia have recently married, she has a collection of a house as well, so there must be alot of editing to make it all fit in the 1854 house without crowding it.  So many beautiful things she brings to his life and to his home!

I love noticing wonderous times and people...it is the best of times for me when I am out and I notice a new moment or place and it speaks to me.

    hugs hugs hugs

  • I will be staying on Xanga!! I just got the LiveJournal blog to stay in touch with some of my swordfighting friend. I didn't get to be in the tournament that those pictures are from but I'm hoping in the next couple of months there will be a tournament I can join in.

I love the pictures from above! The one with the road, those are my favorite types of pictures. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

  • I am so enjoying the biography of Django Reinhardt. The author describes Paris in the thirties. At one point Django is in love with a "B" girl. I hadn't heard that term in ages...another name for her was taxi girl. This book is unusually good to read.

RYC, thanks for you kind remarks, Michel. They please me very much! There was no music, but a pop up ad I didn't know was there!

  • Don't feel ashames about the comparisson to van Gogh; it's true!

  • Coucou,M. Michel!!!Ca me manque les petites routes tranquilles!!!Merci pour ce coin de nostalgie....Ca me met la larme a l'oeil!!!

  • Hi Michel, lovely post as usual, The meaning of "Fly High" is a different...I date a commercial pilot,, and that is what they say.. making sure that they fly high enough so as not to get hit in time of war.. hope you are doing well

  • Hi Michel:  Commercials are just companies who try to sell their products.  Like beer, Budweiser trys to do a funny commercial every year and McDonalds the fast food restaurant so forth, everyone enjoys these commercials some are too funny.  Some are far out and some are very silly it's just fun to watch them.  Cold here very cold.  Wishing you and your family a happy day Shirley

  • Wonderful stories of your trip so nice to have a chat with people.

  • You have made wonderful illustrations to accompany your entertaining story.  I can understand why you have so many friends, because you take the time to be friendly with strangers.  It does make life more interesting, and energizing to remember that living is going on all around us!

  • A man should always keep his word.

    -Khanh

  • I always enjoy the photos you post here... so real... so vivid.

  • Hi Michel:  Yes, a lot of people are happy the Steelers won, I don't like football but I rooted for the Steelers.  Have no ideal why just liked their name for some reason.  Thank you for your comment, Bush was a hard President to write about though the history I took from the White House profile record.  I think we far too often look at them as anything but being human's and they like all human's make mistakes and have their back grounds too just as all other's, their not perfect but get run over by opinions.  That's life in the lime light I am afraid.  Once famous you have no private personal life but I guess they know that once they take the job.  Kennedy's wife Jackie had a very hard time with that many do.  But you have to know the person good and bad to support them and I do support Bush for many reasons and yet do not care for many things he does but no one is perfect so I don't search for perfection.  Enjoy your week with your family Shirley

  • That house in the first picture reminds me of the house we live in except we have neighbours right next door but our smoke drifts on the wind. a great and interesting blog. thanks Michel

    Angela

  • Wonderful entry, but your comment at my site brought me to my senses! Thank You, I often get so self centered...

  • I changed over. And your site is always beautiful, filled with positive things.

My mother always warns me saying the same (in a different language, however ) I truly believe that words go forth and make life happen.

Your posts are always delightful. I especially loved your sketches. They are inspiring me to pick up a pencil.

  • I felt the energy! How satisfying to speak with three different people, all there for a different purpose! A 'mind rush.'

  • What  a lovely little cottage.  In my mind if I were to build a house it would be about the size of that house made out of stones with a tiled roof, lots of ivy, trees and flowers would surround it and I would have that little white pickett fence.  Old fashion aren't I!   *sigh*    Thank you my friend for your prayers.

    Love,

    Debbie

  • I have a picture on my blog of a French poster and the words it contains. Could you translate for me?

  • This was so wonderful to read.  And the pictures are so beautiful and your own sketches are delightful.  I agree with you about the house with the smoke rising from the chimney, so comforting and peaceful......you were writing about meditation and being present too Michel!!!!!  ton mots cet tres bien (forgive the lack of accents and spelling/grammar).-g

  • Wow! Great pictures! Happy February!

    ~*Sazzy*~

  • you always have beautiful stories.

a con is a conference, there are lots of kinds.  but the con im referring to is a youth conference where we stay for a weekend at a church. its only for unitarian kids (my religion) and is basically a weekend retreat where we learn more about our faith & network.

  • great pictures as usual, michel.  and i love your thoughts as well.

  • the home and the roads look peaceful and beautiful.

also, there were no gravestones under the korean writing that i took pictures of.

  • Michele, the pictures and the stories are beautiful. I appreciated your sharing, Judi

  • Very nice as usual..Hope you have a super week..

Blessings to you and your family!
    Allison

  • Have a great weekend. God Bless.

    (((HUGS)))

  • you are so lucky to find these wonderful places on your travels :) i hope to find nice ones in sb, too!
    your thoughts...eloquent :)

  • What a wonderful morning!  Your words were so descriptive that I could imagine it all.  And yes, it is a wonderful thing to meet these people.  It is so awful in a big city where people will not greet others on the street.  There's no 'good morning' in the city to strangers.

  • I will miss you, but everyone needs a break at times, yes?  If I had to do more for Ken, I would take a break, too.  But he is doing so well that things are almost back to normal.  The big difference is that I was so spoiled because he did so much for me.  Now I must do these things for myself.  That is certainly all right with me.

I am just looking forward to my new computer so I can comment more often.

Enjoy your break.  Look forward to your return, my friend!  Nancy

  • I'm finding that the older I get and, more importantly, the more that I travel, the better - or rather clearer my eyesight becomes.  Not that my eyesight improves.  It's just that things become clearer and are more defined than before.

  • Those are nice journey, michel.. I wish I wanted to live in france hehe.. Those journey made me dreams come true! and i hope that my parents would send me away to see the France.. :)

Good luck with your xanga break!

  • Miss you! Take care and enjoy your break. :)

  • I lost my internet for a while so could not get online at all. I just get back on and you are gone. Hope you do get caught up on some of the things that you need to do.

I love your drawings and the stories of the nice people that you met. I always leave your site feeling that I have just spent some quality time with a friend.

The picture of the little house is interesting. Really has my mind working overtime, trying to picture who might live there. The picture of the road also lifts my imagination. I can almost imagine what it would be like to wander down that road and disappear around the next bend.

ryc:I did leave a picture of my house on my site for you. Yes the first picture is of my house.

Find some time to relax while you are on break.

    Love Edie Rose

  • I hope you slow down soon, Judi
