The little bridge in a village .
This afternoon in a village nearby Amiens ( France ) the street was blocked . A bridge was under repair . I left the car and went to see the little bridge over the river . This inspired to me a short poem ( in English , forgive me !!!!) . Indeed the bridge can symbolize many things .
People don' t see it when they cross over it !
Are they able to judge how useful is it ?
From a bank to other it allows the passage .
It makes the union of parts of the village .
It is very simply the Communication.
Try to live together in the cohesion
If here and there any little bridges are not found .

I never thought of a bridge like that before.
Thank you.

Votre ami, Neil
...excellent poem, Michel! As Cheri Herald said today, good poetry like good art, always has a deeper meaning. Your poem certainly qualifies as "good" poetry.

...please excuse, here is the correct link: Cheri Herald

That is very thought-provoking, Michel. It makes me think about bridges differently, as FairestC said.
I love French.. this is a great poem.
wonderful!
Merci.
Beautiful poem! It is strange how we look at some things every day, and just take them for granted. Then someone writes something, as you did this poem about the bridge, and it changes the whole way that we look at things. Thanks!
thats beautiful, Michel! and so very true. the pictures of my kitten should be working now if you would go back and look again! I'm sorry they weren't working right the first time. I love your bridges poem! ~
"All beings and things are interesting" indeed

This is a beautiful poem with lovely layers of meaning. You do not require forgiveness, only praise! Aloha. (:
Very nice, Michel. This xanga is a bridge that lets me communicate with you over the internet. It is always a pleasure to read your site, and receive delightful comments from you on mine. Yes bridges are really great.
mm..what lucy loopdeloup said
i love the way you highlighted something that we DO take for granted -- vous avez dit les mots de verite dans votre jolie mais aussi profonde poeme.
One tends to forget what bridges do, not only in roads but in life, Thanks for the memory. Cheers Portia

Bonjour monsieur, je vraiment apprécie votre mots.
I am glad I can come and give you more applause for that lovely post!!

Yes bridges do make our life easier. Yet, this world today is so determined to ignore them, and to burn them behind themselves. A rather scay thought whether it is a bridge across water, or a bridge across hearts and minds.
Peace~
Thank you for your comment about Victor Hugo and Guernsey. Indeed, he is a renowned historical figure on the island and his house is a great tourist attraction. I like your poem very much. Sur le pont d'Amiens? Merci. Tom

Hello, Michel! I see you write poetry. I like your poem very much. I wish I was better at reading French. Sometimes, the computer does unusual things to the translation.
An ode for the many kinds of bridge in life. All the bridges that connect important things. Bridges that connect lives. Friendship to you

It makes me think of a painting...wasn't it Renoir who painted a curved bridge?
Bonjour Michel,
Many thanks for your helpful vegetable planting tips - given the small plot of land in which I have to grow, I shall now have to consider carefully which vegetables to choose from!
Thank you again.

What a wonder a bridge is a crossing over I love bridges and the symbolism of bridges. Great Poem. Jass
Great poem! It's sad how often we fail to see the little bridges in life. We miss a lot of connections to other people, at least I know I do!
