    Le petit pont dans un village .


      Cet après - midi dans un village près d ' Amiens la route était barrée . On réparait un pont . Je laissais la voiture pour aller voir ce petit pont sur la rivière . Ceci m ' a inspiré ce petit poème . Le pont en effet est riche de symboles .


    Il passe inaperçu quand on passe dessus !
    Mesure - t - on vraiment ses services rendus ?
    D ' une rive à l ' autre il assure le passage  
    Il permet l ' union des parties du village .
    Il est , tout simplement , la Communication.
    Essayez donc de vivre ensemble en cohésion
    S ' il n 'y a pas ici et là des petits ponts .

    The little bridge in a village .


      This afternoon in a village nearby Amiens ( France ) the street was blocked . A bridge was under repair . I left the car and went to see the little bridge over the river . This inspired to me a short poem ( in English , forgive me !!!!) . Indeed the bridge can symbolize many things .


    People don' t see it when they cross over it !
    Are they able to judge how useful is it ?
    From a bank to other it allows the passage .
    It makes the union of parts of the village .
    It is very simply the Communication.
    Try to live together in the cohesion
    If here and there any little bridges are not found     .

  • La grand 'mère et le tricot .
    Grandmother and knitting . 

    Presque   chaque soir ma
    femme Janine tricote pour ses petits enfants . Je suis admiratif . Il est vrai que nous en avons dix et bientôt douze . Avez - vous remarqué la boîte de chocolat en bas de la photo ?
     Ma fille aînée Carole et son mari Pierre  m ' ont offert un ....crochet pour mon anniversaire en Mars dernier .( photo ci - dessous )  Comme vous voyez tout le monde est hilare ! que voulez - vous que je fasse ? Rien , évidemment car je suis incapable  parce que je n ' ai pas les doigts habiles .

      Almost every evening my wife Janine is knitting for her grandchildren .I am admiring . It ' s true they are ten and soon twelve . Did you notice the chocolate box at the bottom of the picture ?
      My eldest daughter Carole and her husband Pierre offered to me a ....crochet at my birthday last March ( picture below ). As you see all the people are hilarious . ! What do you want I do ? Nothing obviously as I am unable because I have not clever fingers .

     


  • Esthétique automobile .


      Je viens de vendre ma voiture Citroën XM . La photo ci - dessus la représente alors que je vais la conduire pour la dernière fois . Elle avait été construite en 1991 .


      La photo ci - dessous montre ma nouvelle voiture Citroën C5 qui rentre dans la cour de la maison . Je suis frappé par l ' évolution du dessin des voitures en 10 ans .


      Il existe un art appliqué à l ' industrie .dans la conception et l ' aspect des machines , des bâtiments etc... comme pour les vêtements . On aime ou on n ' aime pas mais il faut s ' adapter . Le concept de " beauté " est évolutif . Heureusement . Et probablement vous pensez à d ' autres exemples .



    Automobile design .


      I have just sold my car Citroën XM . The picture above shows it when I am going to drive it for the last time . It had been made in 1991 .


      The picture below shows my new car Citroën C5 which comes in the drive way of my house . I am impressed by the evolution of the car design in ten years .


      There is an art applied to the industry , in the conception and the look of machines , buildings etc… like for the clothes . We like or not but we have to adapt ourselves . The concept of " beauty " is evolutionary . Fortunatly . And probably you think of other examples .



  •  Le chant désespéré du jardinier  !!


      Je parle ici de mon  jardin potager d' où je viens de me promener . C ' est un désert . Semés ou plantées au début du mois carottes , pommes de terre , pois , poireaux , persil ne germent pas et ne poussent pas . Depuis environ 3 semaines le temps est sans pluie , froid le matin avec un vent de nord desséchant . Rien ne va plus .
      Cependant les tulipes , le muguet , le lilas mauve , pourpre et banc , le genêt ( photo ci - desssus ) sont fleuris en avance . Des fleurs : oui . Des plantes potagères : non . Qu ' y faire ?
      De toute façon est - ce qu ' un jardinier  est jamais content .  Allez , mes amis , souhaitez moi de conserver espoir et courage . Merci .


    The desesperate gardener ' s song  !!


      I speak here about my vegetable garden where I come from for a walk . It is a desert . Carrots , potatoes , peas , leeks , parsley sown or planted at the beginning of April have not germinated and grown  up . About for three weeks weather is without rain , cold in the morning with a drying wind coming from north . Nothing is going .
      However tulips , lily of the valley , mauve , purple and white lilac , broom ( picture above ) are bloomed in advance . Flowers : yes . Vegetables : no .   What to do ?
      Anyway a  vegetable gardener is always not happy . Go , my friends , wish me to keep hope and courage . Thank you .

    C ' est un très vieux chant américain de spiritualité que nous chantions à la répétition de notre chœur Mardi dernier . D ' habitude pour les chants en langue étrangère on ne se soucie que peu du sens précis du texte . L ' important est la polyphonie avec mots et musique . Mais cette fois je lus attentivement les paroles écrites en anglais . Et je pensais à Israël et aux Palestiniens !


    " Land where all is peace " . Puisse - t - elle l ' être !


     


    It ' s a very old spiritual american song that we sang at the pratice of our choir on last Tuesday . Usually for songs written in stranger language we have not concerns about the precise sense of the text .. The main is to have a nice polyphony with words and music . But , this time , I red attentively the words written in English . And I thought of Israël and Palestinians .


    " Land where all is peace " . May it be !
