I don't know how much you hindered or helped but I am sure she is glad you accompanied her. Do you consider that where you live is Central France or just Western France? Aren't The French more proud of the region/city because of their families living there or a combination of reasons like perhaps what soccer team plays for that region?

Certainly the area with the museum of Neanderthal must be associated with a University?

Nice time,  nice place..  I was there for my honeymoon.

How could Janine have managed without you ?? Thanks for the card showing where one of our famous queens came from- she certainly changed the English court. I have never had or heard of walnut wine, is it a speciality of the region ? You certainly had the best weather for the visit didn't you or was it hot and humid like it was here ? BTW you are still an ace photographer ! Marie

Glad you got some sunny weather during your vacation, all it has done here so far this year is rain. I am worried for my garden. Anyways, it is good to see you back!

A bientôt, ciao.

Welcome back Michel!! Walnut wine? I wonder how that taste like. May I have some please? ^_^ Such lovely photos you have captured my friend, I like looking at them. My favorite photo is the 1st one of your lovely Janine. When I go to Europe, I like walking around the old quarters of the countries I go to. Im not a big fan of the cities but if there's anything of old & beauty you'll find me there more. 2nd photo I like is Janine & shopping as I, myself, am a big fan of shopping :D

With our son and family here for three weeks, I have not been here on Xanga. Today I returned, and here you are back, too. I always enjoy the pictures of your travels. It is so interesting that different areas have different wines. In our part of Wisconsin, the favorite is cherry wine, made from the cherries grown in a county to the north of us. People come from various areas of the midwest to vacation in our Door County, and either pick the cherries from the trees, or to savor the cherry wine sold up there. Ken's aunt had a cherry orchard up there, and Ken's family would go up there every summer in the1940's and 50's and pick cherries for a week---earning about 5 cents a pail. Now they have machines to do the job.
Where you were vacationing there were walnuts---therefore, walnut wine. Sounds like an interesting flavor. Janine certainly enjoyed it!!
I am certainly learning more and more about France through your travels. Beautiful country with magnificent old castles.
